This was the first Stan Laurel solo film I ever saw and I was very impressed. He plays Smithy a soldier in the 372nd infantry and guess who the seargeant is it's "Do'h, Mr. Double Take" James Finlayson in this classic features many stunts with Laurel and Finlayson at the building of a house. In the end the actual boss "The Other Smithy" played by Glenn Tryon and a knew messenger is assigned to the building project when the foreman hands a note of thankfulness to the messenger assigned to "The other Smithy", the boy gets confused and hands it to Stan and Mayhem unfolds in this classic climax directed by the legendary Hal Roach. 10 out of 10.
