Chaplin's fight sequences in each of his films always seem to be the same. However, the fact that he is the chosen representative of the working class man in a post-Victorian era dramatised in an episodic film version of a serial novel, was phenomenal.
Chaplin's one and two reeler films were the working class version of 'Vanity Fair' in the 20th century.
