Questions?
Do I have to create an IMDb account to enter?
Yes. You may use an existing IMDb.com or IMDbpro.com account to enter, or you may create a new account. For new account, you need to have a registered and validated account to enter. There is no fee to enter the contest, and you are not charged to create an IMDb.com account (IMDbpro accounts will incur the usual monthly charge). The validation is created by clicking on a link in an e-mail confirmation we will send to the e-mail address you provide, so please be careful to enter a valid e-mail address that you can check. Note that your e-mail address is not displayed with the poster.

Do I have to be in the United States to enter?
Yes. Our legal restrictions allow us to only accept and display submissions from submitters within the United States. We cannot accept non-US submissions (including Canada and Mexico) even for display and/or gallery purposes.

Who owns the rights to my entry after I submit it?
As described in the Official Rules, the images, titles and taglines you submit become the property of Amazon. By accepting a prize, you assign to IMDb all rights in your entry, including the right to publish, adapt, edit and/or modify your entry.

Why was my picture rejected during upload?
The most common reason for being rejected is an image size that is outside of our specifications. Please read the FAQ sections on picture size and format, the requirements are explained there.
What picture formats do you accept?
The picture types we accept are the most common, those that just about every photo program can read and write. They are GIF, TIFF/TIF, BMP, PNG, and JPEG/JPG. All pictures are converted to JPEG before we put them on our site, because all browsers can show JPEG photos. Note that we only use the image portion. Comments and other notes that various formats can hold are not displayed. Note that although you will likely use an image editing/assembly program such as Photoshop to build your picture, we do not accept native Photoshop files; please convert to a image-based format such as JPEG before upload.
What size should my pictures be?
All pictures submitted must be at least 300 pixels wide, or about half as wide as the average 640x480 size that low end digital cameras take. This is also about half as wide as your computer screen at lowest resolution settings. We will crop and/or scale large photos to fit the maximums. Digital images shrink very well. They don't blow up so well, though, thus we must insist that your photo meet or exceed our minimum size. Our maximum "file size" (the amount of space it takes up on disk) is approximately 4.5 megabytes. A high-quality JPG photo from a six megapixel camera is usually under 4 megabytes. Please note, it takes several minutes to upload large pictures. If your file is in BMP or TIF format and is too large, opening it in a simple photo viewer and choosing "Save As" (selecting JPG or JPEG as the "format" or "type" to save as, and selecting a JPEG quality setting a notch or two below the top) should cut the size down to about 1/5th without any noticeable change in quality. Make sure you have already cropped out all borders, whitespace, and text such as your name or contact information. Other corrections: At our editors' discretion, we may also adjust brightness, color, or gamma balances on photos to improve their image quality. Our upload process is set to reject images that do not meet these criteria. If your image is rejected, please double-check these criteria and try an alternative format or size.
What cannot be in my pictures?
The following are not allowed in pictures:
  1. Nudity
  2. Written profanity or obscene gestures
  3. Any contact information (phone number, mailing address, e-mail address, web URL)
  4. Age, height, weight info
  5. Advertising for products or services
  6. Anything that infringes the intellectual property or other rights of a third party. See the Official Rules for further details.
  7. Celebrity images. Do not use assets that do not belong to you in the making of your poster!
Determination of what constitutes any of these prohibited things is at the sole discretion of our editors.
Can I enter more than once?
You can enter as many times as you like from a single account as long as the images are different. IMDb.com may remove your image from consideration for a variety of reasons as outlined in our Official Rules.
Can I change or withdraw my contribution after submitting it?
No, contest entries are final.
Can I vote as many images as I like?
Yes. However, you must register at IMDb.com to vote. Only a single vote from your account is tallied toward the final vote count for an image.
Can I enter a video clip instead of a still?
No, we are only accepting still images.
What should be in my image? Can it be humorous?
We're asking you to create a movie poster that might be used to help 'pitch' your film. It can be as serious or a humorous as you like and can include text, graphics, photos, etc. Please note that you must own the rights to any imagery you use, regardless of its type. The picture should be in the form and style of a movie poster, such as what you might see in an advertisement or outside a theater. It is not intended to just be a headshot.
Can I enter anonymously?
Your image will be credited with a required attribution name. This name is not your real name unless you specifically set it to be so, and all text associated with the image must be appropriate for our site. We do not recommend you use your real name! A reasonable picture submission may be rejected solely because of problems with the accompanying text. Your e-mail and other registration information is not displayed with the image even though you must provide a valid e-mail to register at IMDb.com so that we may contact if you if you win!
Can I enter images featuring adult material?
The images themselves will be judged for appropriateness for general display on our website.
Why is my image not showing up in the voting booth or gallery?
Note: The voting booth and gallery will be available in mid October. There are several reasons. It may take up to forty-eight hours for editorial staff to review our images for appropriateness and post them to the gallery/voting both. We reserve the right to reject entries we feel are inappropriate, including but not restricted to problems with content or style. There are a lot of submissions. Please be patient, it might yet show up. Note: you will not be contacted if we reject your image due to inappropriate content. If you feel that inappropriate content might be reason to why your content has not shown up, then we encourage you to remove the questionable parts and resubmit it.
How do I report a problem with an image (illegal/questionable content, etc.)?
Please file a report through our helpdesk contact form. We will review your request and take appropriate action. You will not receive a confirmation if we act upon your request, but every request will be read.
What precautions do I need to take if I use AOL?
To make graphics travel faster to you, AOL tries to shrink them. They do this by converting them into their ART format. Unfortunately, this format is very "lossy", meaning they throw away a lot of the picture's information to shrink it, lowering the picture's quality in the process. It's also not supported by most photo programs. Please contact AOL tech support for help on turning off web graphics compression in your AOL settings before you submit a photo (or your photo may look bad after you upload it, even though it's actually fine) and particularly if you're going to copy a photo off your personal web site to upload (the copy may end up being in in AOL's ART format, not JPEG).
How do I know if I won? Will you make my film if I win?
The details of winning conditions are spelled out in the Official Rules. We will attempt to contact you at the e-mail address you provide, and if you do not respond in a timely manner (as spelled out in the Official Rules) then you will forfeit the prize. Providing accurate contact information is your responsibility. The competition is designed for fun and amusement only. To be clear, we are not making the film you pitch, nor soliciting it to be made from studios. That's up to you!.

The incredible 2.5 inch LCD makes for easy viewing and image playback. This stunning camera has a compact metal body that's a mere 3/4 inch thick and is shirt pocket small.
The included Coolstation dock makes it easy to download images, and Nikon's exclusive in-camera Red-Eye fix, automatically removes most typical instances of red-eye during the picture taking process. The D-Lighting feature automatically lightens overly dark images in playback mode. There's no guesswork, as on-screen help is available for all main menu functions.
