Synopsis
Originally produced as a miniseries for NBC, 10.5 is a disaster film that wonders what might happen if the Western United States is ever ravaged by unprecedented earthquakes. After one quake wreaks havoc on Seattle, another strikes California, this one worse than the first. With scientists speculating that an earthquake registering 10.5 on the Richter scale could be next, the U.S. president (Beau Bridges) enlists the help of a seismologist (Kim Delaney) to somehow formulate a plan to prevent the deaths of millions of people. This film aired under the title Earthquake: 10.5 in the U.K. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Ok, so its not the best CGI/Acting but the movie does nt crawl,
keeps moving and kept me awake...wow. Pretty good earthquake effects and was worth my money. Will likely view again later in the year.

5.0 out of 5 stars massive earthquakes destroy parts of the U.S(in spectacular fashion)wow!, Mar 10 2007
wow.i just watched this movie last night, and my nerves are still frazzled.this is one intense movie.the action sequences are frenetic, almost overwhelming, but in a good way.i was on the edge of my seat for a lot of this movie.this is a natural disaster movie of epic proportions.i thought the special effects were amazing.they put a lot of money into this movie, and it shows.the acting is also pretty good.the only thing i didn't like was the President's speeches, wich were ebasically just rhetoric and paltitudes, basically along the lines of,"as long as we have our spirit,we will endure through this tragedy".i don't blame the script writers,or Beau Bridges, who played the president.after all, this is exactly how are world leadre spwek during times of crises.i know this is mainly to give hope and comfort to the populace, but to me,it really doesn't mean anything.Beua Bridges is good as the president, convincing in his role.Kim Delaney also stars in the movie as a expert on fault lines, and she does a very good job,as well.anyway,as for the movie,i thourougly enjoyed it,and at times it is so intense,i didn't have time to breathe.it remided my of Independence Day,except it.a better movie,in my opinion.there is asequel, called 10.5:Apocolypse,which i haven't seen yet.but this movie will be a hard act to follow.i have to give this movie a 5/5

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe as a comedy?, Sep 19 2004
By Serge Zoritch (Revelstoke, British Columbia Canada) - See all my reviews
A great movie if you discount cheesy special effects, CSI scene editing, and cheap models. The only things missing are Pamela Anderson and Godzilla. :-)
