Clooney was at the event promoting his new movie, legal thriller Michael Clayton, but used the platform to praise the man he hopes will become America's next president. The actor said, "You've been in a room once in a while with a rock star. He walks into the world, and he takes your breath away. I'd love him to be president, quite honestly."
Frustrated Knightley Fields Weight Question at Venice

Actress Keira Knightley was left "frustrated" at the Venice Film Festival on Friday, when she was asked about her weight during a press conference for her new movie Atonement. The 22-year-old British star was so certain her thin frame would be asked about at the Italian event, she discussed it with her Atonement co-stars and crew beforehand. She says, "It's really frustrating, and particularly when you come to Venice with a film that is an intelligent film. I think it was just a shame that that had to be brought up then, and the fact that we all knew that it was going to be brought up. We actually had a bet going. I was like 'Come on, how many times either anorexia or something about my body, are going to come up?'" Knightley adds, "I think what I want to keep it (my career) about is the work, that's all I'm interested in, and when you've got a project like this I think it's a shame to take it away from that."

The Canadian couple's initial courtship remained low-key and stayed out of the tabloids. However when they announced their plans to marry in 2004, suddenly the media started investigating their private lives. The Nines star Reynolds tells the New York Daily News, "The line between news and entertainment gets blurred, and you end up as a voyeur to your own life... which is a great way to creep me out." The couple ended their engagement in February and Reynolds has since been linked to Scarlett Johansson.
Britney Still Earning Big Money

Resting pop princess Britney Spears still earns almost $750,000 each month - even though she hasn't released any music in two years. The singer's earnings have been revealed in court documents, linked to Spears' battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of their two children, Sean Preston, 23 months and Jayden James, 11 months. The documents, obtained by Tmz.com, reveal Spears' average monthly salary is $737,868. They also reveal she pays $20,000 a month in spousal support to Federline, payments that cease in November. Federline's lawyers are using the revelations to claim that Spears "is clearly the 'monied party' in this case" and should pay $50,000 for custody hearing expenses. Spears hasn't released an album since B in the Mix: The Remixes in 2005. Her last LP containing new material was Into The Zone in 2003.

The couple met on the set of 2005 film Pride & Prejudice, which Wright directed and Pike starred in alongside Keira Knightley. Wright announced the news to friends and family during a dinner in Venice. The couple were greeted with applause after the film maker said, "I have asked Roz to be my wife she, thank God, said yes." They will marry next year, after finishing pending film projects.
Brown In Court for Custody Hearing

R&B star Bobby Brown was in court on Friday to fight his ex-wife Whitney Houston for legal and physical custody of their 14-year-old daughter. The judge at the Orange County Superior Court hearing in California ruled both Brown and Houston, who wasn't in court, must personally argue their cases in a deposition set for October 22 before any decision is made about the custody of Bobbi Kristina. As Houston lives with Bobbi in Atlanta, Georgia, she will be allowed to videotape her deposition. Speaking outside court, Brown told People.com, "I just miss my daughter. I miss watching her sleep, making her laugh, everything, it's the simple things. She looks like me - it's like looking in the mirror. The goal is to see her a lot more and to be involved in the decision making in her life, the places she goes, the people she hangs out with. All of that." Brown and Houston split last year and seem to have now ended a brief friendship, which saw them dining together for her recent birthday, because of the custody situation. In a legal declaration filed earlier this week, Brown states, "Since Whitney has been awarded sole legal and physical custody of Bobbi Kris, she has attempted to eliminate me from Bobbi Kris' life."

She has been arrested in the past for harassing the Bridget Jones's Diary star. Firth and his wife Livia Giuggioli were said to be "relieved." A friend says, "Colin is normally very at ease with his fans, but he was aware one woman was veering closer to obsession."
