Potter Publisher Sues Over Breach

The United States publisher of J.K. Rowling's latest book Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows is suing two companies who broke a sales embargo on the novel. Scholastic has filed suit in Illinois against DeepDiscount.com and book distributor Levy Entertainment for allowing customers to purchase the book before its official publication date of July 21. Comedienne Silverman Feels Bad About Hilton Joke

Comedienne Sarah Silverman regrets poking fun at Paris Hilton on the eve of her June jail stint after watching footage of the MTV Movie Awards. Silverman, who hosted the awards show, joked about Hilton's prison term, while the hotel heiress sat awkwardly in the audience. Cameras captured a hurt Hilton as she squirmed in her seat - just hours before she began her prison sentence for a probation violation at Century Regional Detention Center - and Silverman admits she has felt terrible ever since. She says, "I thought, 'She's got to know there's going to be a joke about her, ' so I went for it. But then I looked down and saw a man in her face with a camera. I was there to be funny and I was, but that doesn't mean I can't feel bad about it." A forgiving Hilton admits she knows Silverman was just trying to land a few laughs: "She's a funny comedienne and hopefully she won't be as mean the next time she sees me."

Judge Awards Heche Furniture in Divorce Battle

A judge has awarded Anne Heche a cache of furniture, including a footstool and a yellow armchair, in her ongoing divorce battle with estranged husband Coley Laffoon. Laffoon filed for divorce from Heche in February after five years of marriage - a month after the actress' romance with her Men In Trees co-star James Tupper went public. In documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on July 10, Laffoon claimed he returned to the Los Angeles home they alternately shared to find a footstool, rugs and a king-size bed missing. He accused the actress of taking the items and attempted to prevent her from removing any other possessions from the house. But Heche insisted the items belonged to her before the marriage and Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Frederick C. Shaller has agreed, ruling she may keep the furniture and linens. Judge Shaller also ruled Laffoon shall have "temporary exclusive use and occupancy of the residence."
Lohan's Relaxed Approach to Acting

Reformed Hollywood wildchild Lindsay Lohan refuses to study her scripts ahead of filming, declaring "everything is on set." The Mean Girls star has been criticized by former co-stars, including Jane Fonda and William H. Macy for turning up late on set and last year film producer James G. Robinson criticized the 21-year-old for being "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional" on the set of Georgia Rule. And Lohan admits she doesn't spend too long preparing for film roles, preferring to avoid rehearsals and stay away from acting classes. She says, "I have never taken an acting class. I don't rehearse. I don't read my lines the night before. Everything is on set."
Bon Jovi Demands Energy Drink Name Change

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is threatening legal action against the makers of energy drink Mijovi - because he thinks the beverage bears too much similarity to his own name. Marcos Carrington launched the coffee-based product in 2004 and claims he was inspired to name the drink Mijovi after his girlfriend Jovita. But the singer is demanding Carrington change the product label - which is also marketed using the slogans "itsmijovi" and "itsmilife" - or face a court battle. In a recent letter to Carrington, Bon Jovi's lawyer Peter Laird says, "As you should be aware, one of Bon Jovi's most popular songs is entitled 'It's My Life.' We hereby demand that you immediately cease and desist all further use of the name Mijovi and 'It's My Life.'" Carrington has since agreed to stop the use of "itsmilife" in his marketing campaigns, but protests: "It is just unfair. (itsmilife) means it's my jovial life. It is unfair because Mijovi has nothing to do with Bon Jovi."
