Sambora and Locklear To Divorce

Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora and his wife of 11 years, actress Heather Locklear, are set to divorce. The news comes after weeks of speculation about the couple's marriage. The divorce was confirmed by Locklear's publicist yesterday. Cece Yorke says, "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time." The Spin City star was previously married to Motley Crue rocker, Tommy Lee. They divorced in 1993, a year before she wed Sambora. The couple wed in Paris, France, in 1994 and has an eight-year-old daughter, Ava Elizabeth. Rumors of a split surfaced after Locklear attended a New Year's Eve rock concert with fellow soon-to-be-divorcee Denise Richards and their husbands nowhere to be seen.

Herzog Helped Phoenix from Car Wreckage

Oscar-nominee Joaquin Phoenix was rescued from his car wreck last week by German cult director Werner Herzog. The 31-year-old Walk The Line star overturned his car on a canyon road above Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood after his brakes failed and he collided with another vehicle. Phoenix was saved because he was wearing his seat-belt, but has revealed he was helped from the wreckage by the 63-year-old, who has a home nearby. The actor says, "I remember this knocking on the passenger window. There was this German voice saying, 'Just relax.' There's the airbag, I can't see and I'm saying, 'I'm fine. I am relaxed. Finally, I rolled down the window and this head pops inside. And he said, 'No, you're not.' And suddenly I said to myself, 'That's Werner Herzog' There's something so calming and beautiful about Werner Herzog's voice. I felt completely fine and safe. I climbed out. I got out of the car and I said, 'Thank you,' and he was gone."
'Basic Instinct' Sequel R-Rated

The sequel to erotic thriller Basic Instinct has been given an R rating in the US, after several sexy scenes were cut. Basic Instinct 2, which sees Sharon Stone reprising her role as novelist Catherine Trammell, was originally hit with an NC-17 rating, meaning 17s and over could see it unaccompanied by an adult. But the movie has since been edited by director Michael Caton-Jones and editor John Scott to allow for a younger audience. A Sony spokesman tells the New York Daily News, "It is a hard R. It's a graphic psychological thriller. The official MPAA designation is, 'Strong sexuality, nudity, violence, language and some drug content.'" The film sees Tramell seduce a criminal psychologist played by David Morrissey.
'Geisha' Officially Banned in China
Memoirs Of A Geisha will not be screened in China indefinitely, despite attempts by the film's distributor to overturn the ban. Chinese film authorities and critics were unimpressed by the casting of homegrown actresses Ziyi Zhang and Gong Li in Japanese roles, and the fact Japan committed atrocities in China during the period the film is set. A spokesman for distributor Sony Columbia Tristar Pictures says, "(It will not be released in China) because of the negative social response to the film reflected on various media. We were pleased with the acceptance of the film in November and were disappointed by this decision." Despite this decision, Chinese film fans hoping to see the film are buying illegal copies on the black market.
Madsen Favorite To Play Indiana Jones' Girl
Sideways star Virginia Madsen so impressed co-star Harrison Ford in new thriller Firewall, she's now the frontrunner to play his love interest in the fourth Indiana Jones adventure. Madsen plays Ford's wife in the new movie and admits they both found an unusual chemistry on set - after the ageing action man handpicked her for the role. And now Madsen is a clear favorite to play the leading lady in Indiana Jones 4. Ford tells movieline.net, "She was an absolute delight - professional, very talented and simply, very sweet. She also took what could have been a fairly one-dimensional damsel in distress role and added so many layers to it - there isn't many who could do that. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat. I'm actually hoping she'll come over for Indiana Jones. We've talked about it."
Hatcher's Dress Disaster

Actress Teri Hatcher suffered a fashion disaster minutes before she was set to hit the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards red carpet on Sunday, when she spilled champagne all over her gown. The Desperate Housewives star was in a limousine on the way to the ceremony when a sharp turn sent a full glass of champagne tumbling onto her pink chiffon Vera Wang dress. Hatcher explains, "The chiffon color suddenly turned maroon - a nightmare scenario." The panicked star needed to dry out her soaked dress quickly and yelled at the driver to, "Blast the heat!" She adds, "All the heat is coming out of all the vents and three of us have got my dress, holding it over the heaters in the back of the car. And it worked! It totally dried by the time I got up to the thing (red carpet) and I was fine!"
Moss Flees Britain After Questioning

Supermodel Kate Moss has sparked further speculation she is planning to quit Britain for good - she has left the country just 48 hours after she returned to face a drugs investigation. Moss fled her homeland after photographs of her snorting cocaine were published in September, and traveled all over the United States, the Caribbean and Europe as she avoided a police investigation. Moss finally returned to London on Tuesday, where she spent 80 minutes talking to detectives "under caution." A police spokesperson said, "I can confirm that a 32-year-old woman has voluntarily attended a London police office today in relation to a Metropolitan Police investigation into allegations of possible drug abuse as reported in newspaper reports. She has not been arrested." Police say no charges will be filed until the investigation is complete. After her brief visit home, Moss left yesterday on a flight bound for Miami, Florida.

He declined the offer. The journalist told Hilton's handlers that two men, who claimed to have purchased the socialite's stuff at auction, offered to sell him the items. Hilton's publicist Elliott Mintz tells entertainment news website Tmz.com, "The items were illegally seized... Paris is incredibly upset and angry."
