Spears Threatens To Sue Over Stolen Baby Photos

Pop babe Britney Spears has threatened legal action after stolen photographs of her newborn son appeared on the internet. Images of one-month-old Sean Preston have already been shown on several websites, but Spears and her husband Kevin Federline insist the pictures were pinched from a private photo shoot. Spears' record label, Jive Records, released the following statement on Friday, "Anyone who publishes, sells or otherwise exploits any of these images in any way will be subject to liability and damages for willful infringement of copyright, and will be liable for invasion of privacy."
Diaz Lectures University Students

Hollywood beauty Cameron Diaz gave students at Stanford University a huge shock on Thursday when she turned up unannounced to give a lecture on environmentally friendly design. The Charlie's Angels star's appearance was filmed for the MTV series Stand In, where celebrities such as Marilyn Manson, Melissa Etheridge and Kanye West have appeared as guest lecturers at colleges across America. Earlier last week, Madonna surprised students at New York's Hunter College when she turned up to take a film class. Diaz, who is a champion of environmental causes, joined her friend and renowned environmental architect William McDonough who was taking the lecture. Speaking about McDonough, Diaz says, "He's very charismatic, captivating. Bill is one of those people who is thinking big, but is also producing."
Madonna Back On Horse
Madonna jumped back on a horse on Thursday night for the first time since breaking a collarbone in an equestrian accident on her birthday, to promote her new album on American talk show The Late Show With David Letterman. The singer and Letterman each mounted a horse and rode down New York's West 53rd Street to the amazement of passers-by. Madonna, wearing stilettos, looked nervous on the horse - just weeks after she broke five ribs and fractured her collarbone after a fall on her English country estate. When asked how she felt, she told reporters, "I have a bit of excitement tainted with fear." She recently claimed she wouldn't ride a horse again until she had permission from her record label, because "my record company is not very keen on the idea of me injuring myself."
Jackson Escapes Prosecution in Safety Investigation
The Lord Of The Rings director Peter Jackson's Big Primate production company has escaped prosecution after a crew member was injured on the set of King Kong - because the victim is pressing to change working practices instead of blaming individuals. New Zealand authorities have spent months investigating set practices after an unnamed crew member on the film claimed poor safety efforts left him injured when scaffolding fell on him. And, in an Occupational Safety & Health Agency report last week, investigators agreed that safety practices on the set were suspect and crew members were expected to work long hours. The worker and a colleague were left with concussion and a broken shoulder blade. But, in a letter to Big Primate, the government-funded agency explained the production company had escaped prosecution because the injured worker was not interested in holding anyone responsible for his accident.
Sizemore Appeals Conviction

Hollywood actor Tom Sizemore has appealed his conviction for assaulting former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss - arguing the main evidence, a photograph of Fleiss with facial bruises, was fabricated. The picture was taken in April 2003 by Fleiss' friend Tara Dabrizzi, who reportedly left the United States the day after taking the photo. Sizemore's defense attorney Michael J. Rovell told the Los Angeles court they had been unable to find Dabrizzi, and questioned whether she even exists. The Saving Private Ryan star has also found two witnesses who claim they saw Fleiss around the time the photo was supposedly taken and did not notice marks or bruises on her face. Deputy City Attorney Robert Cha, who prosecuted Sizemore, said, "I completely deny that she doesn't exist." According to Sizemore's lawyers, the judge wants the city attorney's office to show why the conviction should not be thrown out.
Details of Brando Resort Disclosed

Tahiti-based property tycoon Richard Bailey has disclosed his plans for development on Marlon Brando's paradise island Tetiaroa - he'll name one resort after the legendary actor. Bailey bought the property for $2 million from Brando's estate shortly after the actor's death last summer, after years spent trying to persuade the actor to sell the remote French Polynesian island he bought in 1966. And now he's planning an to turn Tetiaroa into a $1,500-a-night paradise for the rich and famous. The leading eco-resort on the island will be called The Brando, and is likely to open for business in 2008. Construction on Bailey's island resorts is expected to begin next year. The resort development will be a windfall for the Brando estate - Bailey has agreed to hand over $100,000-a-year in rent on the property once it's fully up and running in 2012 and a further cut of the annual profits. In return, the state will continue to allow Bailey to use Brando's name as a marketing tool. The estate's legal advisor David Seeley insists Brando's family has won a big deal by agreeing to sell the island. He says, "We believe we got a very fair deal for the estate. We were not going to get any better deal." And Bailey has promised critics he will strive to maintain the island's eco-system - something Brando insisted upon on his death bed. The developer states, "The concept is very much in keeping with what Marlon wanted. It's environmentally sensitive, visually sensitive, architecturally sensitive."
Jackson To Make Bahrain His Permanent Home

Pop superstar Michael Jackson has fallen in love with Bahrain after spending the summer in the Middle Eastern nation and now plans to make it his permanent home. The King of Pop flew to Bahrain shortly after being acquitted of child molestation in a Santa Maria, California court and spent time there as a guest of the crown prince Sheik Salman Ibn Hamed Khalifa. And, after months of speculation suggesting Jackson is planning to sell his Neverland home in California, and make Bahrain his official headquarters, attorney Thomas Mesereau confirms his client is making a life-changing move. He says, "He's moving on in life. He's living permanently in Bahrain. He has friends there who have been very loyal and helpful to him in a difficult period of his life." Mesereau, who represented Jackson in his child molestation trial, insists the Middle East has been a tonic for the King of Pop. He adds, "He looks really well."
Lucas Donates $1 Million To Martin Luther King Memorial

Generous Star Wars director George Lucas has given $1 million to help build a statue of US civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The film-maker has also agreed to co-host a fund-raising "Dream Dinner" in San Francisco on November 19 alongside fellow supporters Carlos and Deborah Santana, Victor Macfarlane and Bonnie Fisher and Boris Dramov. The memorial will be based in Washington DC, and will cost an estimated $100 million. Fellow major contributor Sheila Johnson says, "This generous contribution from George Lucas will help honor the principles for which Dr. King stood: justice, hope, and freedom for all. By making this contribution and co-hosting the San Francisco Dream Dinner, Mr. Lucas adds to the tremendous momentum and support the MLK National Memorial Foundation has received." King Jr. was assassinated in 1968.
Stone Sells Her Earrings on TV

Movie star Sharon Stone stunned a studio audience on comedienne Ellen DeGeneres' chat show on Friday when she showed off her auctioneering skills by selling off her earrings. The actress was chatting about a recent charity auction she hosted, where she offered the moneybags men in the audience the chance to fasten her dress when a clasp came loose - for a fee - when she sparked an impromptu bidding frenzy. Responding to DeGeneres questions about her auctioning skills, Stone said, "I can do it right now... You want to see," before taking her gold and diamond earrings out and inviting fans to bid for them. Bidding started at $500 and quickly rose to $7,000 when the Basic Instinct star agreed to add a signed photo to the lot. Desperate to raise as must cash as possible, an excited Stone stated, "I'll put them in a box, I'll gift wrap them personally." A bespectacled fan called Joe claimed the top bid. Stone plans to hand over the cash to her favorite charity, the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AmFar).
Theron Hasn't Read a Script Since Oscar Win
Charlize Theron is so concerned about overworking, she hasn't read one movie script since her Oscar win last year. The blonde beauty, who picked up the coveted trophy for her efforts in acclaimed movie Monster, admits that the only new work she's taken on since her victorious moment has been a guest-starring role on the hit TV series Arrested Development. She says, "I haven't read a script since right before the Oscars. I said yes to both (new films) Aeon Flux and North Country before the Oscars and I knew they'd keep me busy for the next two years. If you've just committed yourself to two projects, entertaining any other stuff is like dragging yourself over broken glass. It's my life. I'm not just a money-making machine. There have been some offers, but I just didn't feel ready to go (and) spend eight months on a film set. Not one day goes by where I go, 'Oh, f**k, what am I missing out on?' I love my life as much as my work. I don't want one to take over the other."
