Crowe Slams Celebrity Campaigners
Russell Crowe has launched a scathing attack on A-list charity campaigners including Bono and Sir Bob Geldof - because he believes they only want publicity. The Antipodean actor regularly donates to charity outside of the glare of the media spotlight and urges other stars to give quietly without publicly martyring themselves. He says, "I do my bit to improve the world but I think it's very important to get things done on the quiet. I'm sick to death of famous people standing up and using their celebrity to promote a cause. If I see a particular need, I do try to help. But there's a lot that can be achieved by putting a cheque in the right place and shutting up about it."

Wingfield Blames Al Fayed For Diana's Death
Bodyguard Kez Wingfield has sensationally blamed Mohamed Al Fayed for Princess Diana's untimely demise - because he masterminded the paparazzi escape plan which resulted in the fatal car crash. Wingfield was one of the bodyguards assigned to Diana the night that she, Dodi Fayed and chauffeur Henri Paul died. Harrods' owner Al Fayed has publicly accused the British royal family of conspiring to kill Diana so her former husband Prince Charles would be free to marry Camilla Parker-bowles. Last week a British investigation, led by Lord Stevens, rubbished conspiracy theories and concluded there was no evidence of criminal activity. Wingfield says, "They say M16 fixed the fatal car crash on orders from the Royal family. But that is ludicrous because all the arrangements for that journey were changed last minute on orders from the Fayeds - the car, the driver, the route everything. I argued but was silenced by Dodi snarling, 'It's been okayed by my father! It's been okayed by MF.'" "There's no way anyone could have known that in advance and rigged it. Since the tragic day Mr Fayed has blamed everyone but himself. I think he does that in public because the truth he carries in private is too much to bear. With his son bent on fleeing the paparazzi, it was he who authorised the idiotic change of plan that turned the couple's orderly departure from the Ritz hotel into a back-door car chase that ended in their deaths."

Dillon Has No Regrets Over Turning Down 'Silly' Blue Lagoon

41-year-old actor, Matt Dillon, was making a name for himself in the early 1980s in films including The Outsiders and Rumble Fish, and he loved the idea of filming on an exotic island with the film's star Brooke Shields But Dillon was so unimpressed with The Blue Lagoon's script he decided to turn the part, which eventually went to Christopher Atkins, down. He says, "I've turned down a lot of movies and there were a lot of reasons to turn down The Blue Lagoon. It wasn't just the nudity. It was kind of a silly movie, you know? Much as I was tempted to go to Tahiti and run around with no clothes on, I had to let that one go."
Moss Romances Bodyrocker

British supermodel Kate Moss has fuelled rumours of a permanent spilt from Pete Doherty after she publicly romanced Bodyrockers frontman Kaz James. Break-up E-mails Tell Pam the Truth
Pamela Anderson only truly knows if a boyfriend loves her when she breaks up with them. The former Baywatch babe, who is currently single after dating actor Stephen Dorff and rocker Kid Rock, admits she keeps nasty e-mails sent by ex-boyfriends to remind her that the men in her life can often make her think they love her when they don't. She explains, "You think you know somebody, you go out and then you break up with them. That's when you really get to know that person and see their true colours. If a past boyfriend can genuinely wish me well after a relationship ended, then I know that he truly cared for me. It's the ones who send you nasty e-mails telling you how horrible you were after the fact who probably never really cared in the first place."
