Longoria Struck by Falling Pole

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria narrowly escaped a fatal injury after being struck on the head by a falling pole while filming the second series of the hit TV show. The sexy actress - who plays adulterous vixen Gabrielle Solis in the US television drama - was rushed to a nearby hospital after the heavy object fell from part of the suburban set in Pasadena, California. Her spokeswoman has confirmed the 30-year-old escaped the accident with a mere "bump on the head" and was treated and released the same day.

Kirsten Dunst Pregnant?

Kirsten Dunst has sparked speculation she's pregnant, after she was photographed with her on-off beau Jake Gyllenhaal looking at prenatal vitamins. The Spider-Man beauty, 23, was seen studying a box of New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal dietary supplements at Hollywood's Whole Foods market last Saturday. And, according to In Touch Weekly, Gyllenhaal contributed to the effort by grilling an employee for more information about the product. According to New Chapter, the vitamins promote physical stamina and emotional well-being while nurturing mother and baby.

Mighty Morphin' Murderer

Former child actor Skylar Deleon, who appeared as an extra in hit TV series Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, has been accused of brutally murdering a California couple by tying them to an anchor and throwing them overboard a yacht. Deleon, 26, and wife Jennifer, 24, have been ordered to stand trial for the murders of Thomas Hawks and his wife Jackie last November in an alleged plot to steal their 55 foot luxury yacht. The Orange County Superior Court heard, on Wednesday, the pair posed as interested buyers and demanded a test run off Newport Beach where they attacked the elderly pair with a stun gun before handcuffing and blindfolding them. They were then allegedly tied to the boat's 66 pound anchor and ruthlessly thrown overboard where they drowned. Police were alerted to the murder by fellow accomplice Alonso Machain who claims Delona delayed the planned killings by a week after discovering that Hawks, a retired probation officer from Arizona, was a larger man than first expected. Matt Murphy, the Deputy District Attorney, "It is haunting to think these nice, loving people were trying to hold their breaths as they sank to the bottom of the ocean. This is as cold-blooded as it gets." All the defendants have pleaded not guilty.

Hilton Attacked for Reportedly Dumping Tinkerbell

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has been slammed by an animal rights group for reportedly dumping her pampered dog Tinkerbell because she grew too big. Tinkerbell is said to have grown past her ideal weight of 3.5 pounds, prompting Hilton to reportedly leave the pooch with her mother Kathy while she pampers a smaller Chihuahua named Bambi. But her alleged actions have angered the People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals, whose spokesman blasts, "It's a pity that Paris' heart doesn't match her pocketbook. Animals shouldn't be disposed of like last season's trendy handbag."

Pals Feared for Madonna's Life

Madonna's friends feared for the superstar's life when she fell off her horse and lost consciousness after landing on ground "as hard as concrete" in her riding accident on Tuesday. The Material Girl, who was celebrating her 47th birthday, was briefly knocked out by the impact and lay motionless as panicking friends rushed to her aid at her estate in rural England. An air ambulance flew Madonna to a nearby hospital, where she was later discharged with confirmed injuries of a broken hand, a broken collar bone and three cracked ribs. Husband and film director Guy Ritchie had organized for pals to bring down four horses to their $16.2 million country estate on the Wiltshire-Devon border, to surprise the singer with a leisurely group ride as part her birthday celebrations. The thoroughbred horse took off faster than Madonna was expecting and she lost her balance and fell onto the solid ground. An insider tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "She lay unconscious on the floor for a few seconds and everyone was afraid. If the horse had landed on top of Madonna or trodden on her, it could have been an awful lost worse. Although she's in excruciating pain, she did get off quite lightly."

Aniston Throws Dinner Cruise for Castmates

Former Friends star Jennifer Aniston marked the imminent end of filming on her new movie The Break Up by throwing a sunset dinner cruise for the cast and crew. The Along Came Polly actress, who has spent the summer in Chicago shooting the comedy with Wedding Crashers star Vince Vaughn, decided to wave goodbye to her colleagues in style on Sunday, with the event taking place on the city's Lake Michigan. A source says, "Jen was in a giddy mood. (When she arrived) she kicked off her heels and ran up the gangplank!"

Cinematographer Delli Colli Dies

Acclaimed Italian cinematographer Tonino Delli Colli was found dead in his Rome apartment on Wednesday. He was 81. Delli Colli, who received a BAFTA nomination for Once Upon a Time in America, worked on more than 130 movies, including The Good The Bad And The Ugly and Life Is Beautiful, and worked with renowned directors Roman Polanski, Sergio Leone and Federico Fellini. Delli Colli retired in 1997 after working on Roberto Benigni's Oscar-winning film as director of photography. He is survived by his son Stefano.

Somerhalder Hits Back at "Anti-gay" Slur

Lost star Ian Somerhalder is furious he was slammed as homophobic when he decided his famous gay kiss in The Rules Of Attraction would be his last. The 26-year-old hunk nearly lost a lot of friends as a result of the public reaction to his remark, although he insists his words had been spectacularly misconstrued. He says, "It's not me who can't handle it, it's the audience. Seann William Scott didn't get all of the backlash that I received when he did just the same in American Pie 2. It was completely unjustified - fans and outraged men saying that I was making anti-gay remarks. I wasn't and those very close to me who are gay were visibly upset. I'd never make a disrespectful remark about anyone, especially in public, about one's sexual preference."

Stewart Picks Combs as TV Show Guest

Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has personally selected one of the first guests to appear on her upcoming TV show - rap mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Stewart, who recently spent time in prison after being convicted last Year of lying to federal agents about a stock sale, is excitedly preparing for the September 12 launch of Martha, which will be a how-to show sprinkled with entertainment. Since emerging from behind bars in March, Stewart went straight to one of her target guests to tell him she wanted to share air time with him. Combs says, "When she got her freedom, she contacted me and told me that they had a nickname for her - M Diddy. And it was comforting to her and she thought it was funny. (She) also (said) that she wanted me to be one of the first guests on her show."

Carlyle Wants 'Trainspotting' Sequel

Robert Carlyle is desperate for Ewan McGregor and director Danny Boyle to settle their feud, because he would love to star in Trainspotting sequel Porno. Anxious Trainspotting fans have been eagerly anticipating the film version of author Irvine Welsh's hit sequel for years - but ever since McGregor and director Boyle clashed over Leonardo DiCaprio's casting in The Beach, the sequel has been shelved. But Carlyle remains convinced filming would be fun if the two could settle their egotistical differences. He says, "I have to say I've never been approached by anyone about it. I would hope to do it again because we had a great time the last time; some friendships I made on that film have continued to this day, and that's quite rare. The opportunity to work with Danny again would be fantastic."
