Lohan Lost Weight Over Parents' Split

Teen star Lindsay Lohan lost weight through the stress of her parents' breakup, according to her father Michael. Lohan has been the subject of much media speculation in recent weeks, after she was photographed looking painfully thin. Michael Lohan is currently in prison in New York State on charges of drink driving and assaulting his brother-in-law at a family party. He is also estranged from Lindsay's mother Dina - which he blames for their daughter's poor health. He tells PageSix.Com, "People wonder why Lindsay's so thin. It's because of all this garbage between her mother and me. She's beaten up inside. It's ripped our whole family apart."

Original Lightsabers Up for Auction

The legendary lightsabers brandished by Star Wars characters Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are up for auction alongside a bevy of memorabilia from the sci-fi saga. The iconic weapons, which go under the hammer on July 29, have been valued at a staggering $140,000 by Los Angeles auction house Profiles in History. Other items soon to be at the center of a bidding frenzy include Skywalker's orange X-Wing pilot jumpsuit, which is valued at $80,000, Yoda's mask, and a Stormtrooper "blaster" weapon. The lightsaber used by Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back is likely to fetch $60,000, while the Jedi Knight's weapon is estimated to reach $80,000 in the auction. But bidders will be disappointed if they expect the sabers to light up as they did on screen - their glowing appearance was all down to special effects. All 75 items are presently owned by Star Wars producer Gary Kurtz who created a huge prop archive with Star Wars historian Jason Joiner.

Gabor Recovering from Surgery

Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor is recovering from emergency surgery after suffering a stroke at her Bel Air, California, home earlier last week. The star, 88, was rushed to an undisclosed Los Angeles hospital after her stroke and underwent surgery late on Wednesday to clear a blocked artery. Her ninth husband, German royal, Frederic Prinz Von Anhalt says, "She's in intensive care, critical but stable. She just didn't have any feeling. She was numb. She was alert, but she had no feeling in her hand and couldn't pick up anything." Von Anhalt expects Gabor will return home on Sunday. Partially-paralyzed Gabor - who was injured in a 2002 car accident - is currently involved in a court battle with her daughter Francesca Hilton, claiming the 47-year-old stole $2 million from her. Von Anhalt adds, "She's under a lot of stress. She's still recovering from the accident and there's the stress with her daughter."

Penns Avoid Head-On Car Crash

Hollywood star Sean Penn and his actress wife Robin Wright Penn had a narrow escape from a head-on car crash in London last Monday, after their chauffeur drove in the wrong direction down a one-way street. The driver of their people carrier took an accidental turn down the one-way road in Notting Hill and smashed straight into an oncoming car. The Oscar-winner and his wife - who are in the British capital while she is filming new film Breaking And Entering alongside movie heart-throb Jude Law - luckily escaped injury in the smash.

Minogue Surprises Young Cancer Patients

Kylie Minogue made an impromptu visit to visit children suffering from cancer at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia on Friday. The star, 37, lavished time and affection on the ailing youngsters in her first public appearance since her own breast cancer operation in May. Hospital spokeswoman Kate Dunston, says, "She spent a lot of time with the children individually and really connected with them. She had her dad with her and a couple of assistants. They all seemed to be very concerned for her." The recovering singer intended to visit the kids' hospital when she was fully back to health, but since hearing about the terrorist attacks in London on Thursday she brought her plans forward. An aide says, "Kylie saw what was going on on the TV and decided she wanted to get up and do something positive. She decided the time was right yesterday and rang the charities she is involved with. The children weren't told she was coming. Their faces lit up."

Geldof Tears Over Bono Performance

Sir Bob Geldof was brought to tears after watching Sir Paul McCartney and Bono's opening duet at last Saturday's Live 8 concert in London. The Live Aid co-organizer was overwhelmed by the opening rendition of The Beatles' classic "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," because it signaled the importance of the one-off event in aid to end poverty in Africa. Geldof says, "When Bono and Paul McCartney sang, all that promise of rock and roll was made concrete on this stage at that moment. Everyone was in tears - not believing they were here. It's the biggest cultural event ever. The President of the United States has been watching all day, the government ministers are here. This won't happen again. It's bigger than the Olympics."

Stone: "My Life Has Changed"

Actress Sharon Stone has changed her attitude dramatically since she first hit Hollywood - and she has kicked her work obsession for good. The sexy 47-year-old admits her determination to be the best rocketed her to the top in the cut-throat acting profession, but she now prioritizes family life and good health over career success. She says, "I'm not saying I don't enjoy the attention of being an actress, but there are many other things in life. I do admit that, in the past, I was perhaps too single-minded about my success. It's a highly competitive business and I gave it all my attention. The result is that I've reaped many benefits, both personal and financial. There's no getting away from that. But the way I feel now is completely different to how I felt 15 years ago."

Connery Pulls Plug on Biography

Sir Sean Connery has ditched plans for his long-awaited autobiography, returning a staggering $1.7 million advance to the publishing giants Harper Collins. The veteran James Bond star already abandoned plans to work with original writer and childhood pal Meg Henderson, and later pulled away from second choice Hunter Davies, and has now decided to forget about the entire project. A source says, "Sir Sean doesn't need the money, everyone knows that. The book was always about setting the record straight. But looking back on your life when you are aged 74 is a very emotionally demanding thing to do."

Britney Won't Do a Demi

Pregnant pop princess Britney Spears has rubbished rumors she plans to strip naked on the front page of a magazine. The singer was reportedly planning to copy Demi Moore's infamous pregnant pose on the cover of Vanity Fair in 1991 and appear nude, holding her breasts and bump. Spears will pose for Elle magazine - but definitely not naked. Her representative tells PageSix.Com, "She will be the October cover girl for Elle - but will be keeping all of her clothes on."
