Simpson Slams Divorce Reports
Jessica Simpson has hit out at false reports that she filed for divorce from her husband Nick Lachey. The singer, whose two-and-a-half-year marriage to Lachey has been plagued with speculation and rumors, was furious when she learned that she'd apparently decided to ditch her beau. An E! Online report that leaked onto the internet yesterday afternoon had sent celebrity watchers worldwide abuzz with talk of the reality TV couple's apparent split. But within an hour E! had retracted the erroneous leaked report. Simpson tells Us Weekly, "It is completely false and we would sue them if they hadn't taken it down." And the singer has a special message to those spreading false rumors about the state of her marriage: "Karma, baby!" Meanwhile, former Jackass star Bam Margera has been forced to deny reports he's dating Simpson after his parents - the co-stars of his MTV reality TV show Viva La Bam - told a radio show their son had told them he was the pop star's new boyfriend.
Leno Testifies in Jackson Trial

US comic Jay Leno has taken the stand in the Michael Jackson child molestation trial, testifying the pop star's young accuser made suspicious phone calls to him. The Tonight Show host arrived early in court in Santa Maria, California yesterday morning and quickly recalled how the teenager, a cancer sufferer, was "overly effusive" in phone chats, but never asked for money. Leno recalled the teen's calls took place after the comedian agreed to join many of his peers in helping the young cancer sufferer and his family. Leno testified he makes up to 20 calls a week to children who are ill, and he began receiving voicemail messages from Jackson's future accuser around 2000. Leno stated the boy confessed to being a big fan of the chat show host - a fact the comic found a little odd: "I'm not Batman. It seemed a little unusual." The chat show host also told the jury that he once called the boy when he was in the hospital, but that the conversation seemed "a little scripted". Jackson's defense team called Leno to support claims the family schemed to get money from celebrities, including the pop superstar. The defense has said that Leno became so suspicious he called police to say he believed the family was looking for a "mark," but Leno insisted in court it was police who contacted him.
Cruise Slams Shields' Drug Use
Tom Cruise has criticized Hollywood pal Brooke Shields' "misguided" use of the anti-depressant Paxil, while declaring the actress' career as over. In an interview with Billy Bush on TV show Access Hollywood, to be screened on Thursday, Cruise speaks of his disappointment to learn Shields used Paxil to fight post-natal depression following the birth of her daughter Rowan. Shields is currently weaning herself off her medication so she and husband Chris Henchy can have another child. Cruise, who claims to have helped people fight drug addictions through his controversial Scientology religion, says the Suddenly Susan actress should have used vitamins to help her feelings of despair. Cruise says, "Here is a woman, and I care about Brooke Shields because I think she is an incredibly talented woman. You look at, where has her career gone?" Despite the Minority Report actor's declaration her career is over, Shields is currently receiving rave reviews playing murderess Roxie Hart in the London theatre production of Chicago. Cruise maintains, "These drugs are dangerous. I have actually helped people come off. When you talk about postpartum, you can take people today, women, and what you do is you use vitamins. There is a hormonal thing that is going on, scientifically, you can prove that. But when you talk about emotional, chemical imbalances in people, there is no science behind that. You can use vitamins to help a woman through those things."
Jolie Coos About Pitt to Acting Students
Angelina Jolie has spoken publicly of her fondness for Brad Pitt for the first time since stories circulated about their reported romance. The couple is said to have fallen in love on the set of new movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and the romance allegedly cost Pitt his marriage to Jennifer Aniston. Jolie has been keen not to talk about her feelings for Pitt, but she broke her silence on a recent taping of studious US chat show Inside The Actor's Studio to talk about how much she enjoyed working with her reported new love in new movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. She said, "We became very competitive, aggressive. Everything escalated into these huge fight scenes. It was great to work with him. He's a great actor. He's also a really great guy. I didn't know what to expect in meeting him. He's extremely down to earth, goofy and funny and very good." The in-depth interview will air in the US on June 5.
Paris Hilton's Burger Ad Branded "Porn"
Paris Hilton's new TV commercial for a burger chain has sparked furor in the US, with family groups calling for it to be pulled. In the recently-debuted commercial for Carl's Jr, the hotel heiress is seen in a revealing black bikini as she cavorts with a water hose while washing a Bentley - sensuously covering herself and the vehicle with suds. But her onscreen antics have proved to be too raunchy for Parents Television Council, whose research director Melissa Caldwell says, "This commercial is basically soft-core porn. It's inappropriate for television." The group plans to mobilize its million-strong members to protest and is considering asking the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to declare the ad indecent. Brad Haley, marketing chief for Carl's Jr, said in a statement issued before the commercial began airing last week, "Paris was chosen to star in the ad because she is an intriguing cultural icon and the 'it girl' of the moment. She fascinates Carl's Jr.'s most loyal customers, 'young, hungry guys', as well as 'young, hungry gals'." Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and several playmates have also appeared in an ad for the burger company.

Schwarzenegger "Suspects Stallone of Nazi Smear Campaign"

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger suspects his former rival Sylvester Stallone of leading a secret 1980s campaign to give the Terminator star a reputation as a Nazi sympathizer, according to a new book. The two Hollywood action stars were bitter enemies in 1988, after Schwarzenegger enjoyed an affair with Stallone's ex-wife Brigitte Nielsen and accused the Rocky actor of hiring publicity agents to save his image. And in new book Fantastic: The Life Of Arnold Schwarzenegger, biographer Laurence Leamer claims Stallone sought vengeance by telling British journalist Wendy Leigh that Schwarzenegger's Austrian father helped round up Jews during the Holocaust and that Schwarzenegger was a "secret admirer of Hitler". Leigh claims Stallone paid her legal fees and covered her settlement to the Austrian actor, after he sued Leigh for libel when she published Stallone's alleged comments in a book. And although Stallone insists he did not contribute to Leigh's controversial tome, Leamer claims Schwarzenegger "reluctantly" confirmed he still believes Stallone worked to smear him as a fascist sympathizer, reports America's New York Daily News newspaper. The pair have since settled their differences and are firm friends again.
'Star Wars' Slammed for Continuity Errors

The final Star Wars movie Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith has been slated by outraged fans, because it's riddled with continuity errors. Viewers have inundated website Moviemistakes.Com complaining director George Lucas's blockbuster contains 14 glaring mistakes. One film fan says of the latest film, "When he is telling Anakin how proud he is of him, Obi-wan's eye color shifts from Ewan McGregor's natural blue-green eyes to a dark brown." Another fumes, "When Samuel L. Jackson says, 'I don't think the boy can handle it, I don't trust him,' his lips don't match his dialogue." But the mistakes in the current release are nothing compared to the original 1977 film Episode IV - A New Hope which contained 214 mistakes, and its sequel The Empire Strikes Back, which contained 144 errors.
Lewis Sick of Being Probed About Pitt

Hollywood actress Juliette Lewis is fed up of being asked about her time dating screen hunk Brad Pitt - as she insists their past was as insignificant as a "high school relationship". But the Natural Born Killers star, who dated Pitt after working with him on 1990 movie Too Young To Die, finds she is continually hounded with questions about their romance, which she considers to be ancient history. Lewis, now fronting rock band Juliette & The Licks, says, "It's like talking about a high school relationship. He was a young, struggling actor when we went out. It was a totally different time."
