'Desperate Housewives' Star Arrested

Desperate Housewives star Cody Kasch has been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, following his arrest in New York City. Plainclothes officers arrested 17-year-old Kasch, who plays troubled teen Zach Young on the hit series, late on Tuesday night in Manhattan's East Village after they spotted him allegedly smoking marijuana in public, says a police department spokeswoman. Kasch, who has a Queens address, was charged with fifth-degree drug possession, given a ticket and released. No court date was set.

Hello! Wins Appeal Over Zeta-Jones Wedding Photos

Hello! magazine bosses won their appeal yesterday against rival publication OK! in a court battle over ownership of Hollywood couple Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas' wedding photographs. The Court of Appeal in London allowed Hello! magazine's appeal against last year's High Court judgment that ordered the glossy to pay OK! $1.9 million in damages for publishing unauthorized pictures of the stars' 2000 wedding. The magazine's chiefs confessed they used the photos to spoil OK!'s exclusive coverage of the wedding, but argued "spoilers" are a common practice in the media industry. OK! magazine have now been ordered to repay more than $3.8 million worth of damages and costs it received from Hello!. Douglas and Zeta-Jones were awarded $27,738 in damages from Hello! magazine last year, after a judge ruled the publication had breached the Traffic stars' rights of confidence.

Portman's Pregnancy Made To Measure

Screen siren Natalie Portman was sad to turn her back on action sequences in the final Star Wars movie Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, because her character Padme Amidala is pregnant with Anakin Skywalker's twins. The Garden State beauty accepted the challenge of seeing out her sci-fi role by sporting a strap-on bump to simulate Padme's different stages of pregnancy. Despite her regret at having to take a more pedestrian role, Portman is aware action sequences featuring a pregnant woman would have upset lots of viewers. The 23-year-old tells Empire magazine, "There's definitely a lot less action for me. It would be kind of ridiculous to have a pregnant woman doing that. Not to mention unethical." On her prosthetic attachment, Portman adds, "There were a couple of different sizes. I think they made the bump to my measurements, but I didn't have to have, like, a cast made of my stomach. They made it for my proportions, because having a six-foot girl's bump would have looked kind of ridiculous on me."

Grammer To Play Blue Beast in 'X-Men 3'

Fans of Kelsey Grammer are set to find him tough to recognize in his next project - he's playing a furry blue monster in the second X-Men sequel. In X-Men 3, the former Frasier star will play oversized mutant Beast, who has not yet appeared in any of the franchise's installments. While there has been a shocked reaction to Grammer's casting, producers of the movie insist he's the perfect choice for the part - because Beast is the most intelligent of all the mutants. Snatch star Vinnie Jones is also set to undergo a huge image overhaul when he plays villainous Juggernaut in the movie. His character is a 900 pound metal-clad battering ram. The sci-fi series stars Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Famke Janssen, Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Romijn. The movie, to be directed by Matthew Vaughn, is set to debut in May next year.

Fonda Film Barred in Two Cinemas

Jane Fonda's new movie Monster-in-Law has been banned by two Kentucky cinemas, in protest against the veteran actress' anti-American stance during the Vietnam War. Pictures of Fonda controversially clapping with a group of North Vietnamese soldiers in 1972 were displayed outside the Elizabethtown Movie Palace, as a sign of the owners' disgust. And a notice outside the Showtime Cinema in nearby Radcliff simply informs film fans, "No Jane Fonda movie in this theater." Elizabethtown resident Ike Boutwell, who trained pilots during the Vietnam War and is leading the campaign against Fonda, says, "I think when people do something, they need to be held responsible for their actions. When you give the enemy aid, it makes the war last longer." In the film, Fonda plays Jennifer Lopez's villainous prospective mother-in-law who desperately tries to stop J.Lo marrying her son.

The Riddler Dies

Frank Gorshin, the man behind Batman foe The Riddler's mask, has died at a medical centre in Burbank, California. He was 72. The actor and impressionist was Emmy nominated for his villainous role in the cult Batman TV series from 1966 to 1969. Gorshin earned another Emmy nomination for a guest appearance on another cult show, Star Trek, and won theatrical acclaim in 2002 by portraying late comedian George Burns on Broadway, New York, in bittersweet one-man show Say Goodnight Gracie. Gorshin's final performance was in an upcoming episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

King To Appear at Jackson Trial Today

CNN newsman Larry King will meet his scheduled day in court today in the Michael Jackson trial after all. The TV star had been expected to redate his testimony to next Tuesday - the same day as fellow chat show host Jay Leno - after learning his attorney wouldn't be available for today's planned court appearance in Santa Maria, California. But King will appear, as expected, this morning. According to US news show Celebrity Justice, King will take to the stand before another major defense witness, actor Chris Tucker's girlfriend Aja Pryor, who sources claim spent a significant amount of time with Jackson's child molestation accuser and his family.

Britney Shocks with Sex Talk

Britney Spears shocked fans with candid sex talk on her new US reality home video show Britney & Kevin: Chaotic on Tuesday night, when she quizzed her crew about their favorite sexual positions. Filmed during her British tour stops on last year's Onyx Hotel Tour, just before she started courting new husband and Chaotic co-star Kevin Federline, the pop star asked bouncers, roadies, stylists and dancers how they liked their sex, while filming them on her video camera. When the camera turned to Spears' best friend and long-time assistant Felicia Culotta, who initiated the sex question, she said, "I don't know, I've never had it." And Britney, a one-time famous virgin, couldn't answer either because she worried about her family seeing the tape. She giggled, "Mom, just ignore this whole part, and dad too, and Jamie Lynn (sister) too. I'm not gonna answer that." She then embarrassed pal and Onyx Tour support act JC Chasez by asking him about his favorite sexual position. The first episode also featured a lonely Britney trying to have fun in London and Manchester, discussing marriage and commitment and insisting she didn't believe in marriage. She said, "I've been married, but that was a different story... Love is like the biggest mystery to me." The show ended with her talking about a guy she had met in Los Angeles (Federline) who she planned to jet out to Britain to join her on tour. She added, "I needed some companionship, and, for some reason, I couldn't get this guy out of my head that I'd met."

Kylie Fans Donate Refunds

Hundreds of Australian fans of pop princess Kylie Minogue have donated money refunded from canceled concerts to breast cancer charities. The chart-topper announced she is battling the disease on Tuesday and yesterday began treatment near her Melbourne home to beat the cancer before it spreads. Minogue has been forced to cancel a number of Australian dates on her world tour - but fans of the star have rallied round and handed over ticket refunds to charity. According to medical experts the singer will have the cancerous lump surgically removed and then undergo chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment to fight the possible spread of cancer.

DeGeneres' Torment Over Heche Split

Comedienne Ellen DeGeneres wept for days after her lesbian lover Anne Heche ditched her for a man. The popular talk show host couldn't bare her life in the aftermath of Heche's sudden exit, insisting her eyes would well up as soon as she awoke in the morning. However, DeGeneres has finally overcome her heartbreak over Heche, who is now married to Coley Laffoon. She tells website Pagesix.Com, "Anne broke my heart into a million pieces. When Anne left, I'd wake up in the morning, and my eyes would just immediately fill up with tears, and I would start convulsively crying. I'd watch the sun come up and then go down and I'd literally be in the same place on the floor. I've never spoken to her since she left," she says, though recently, while driving, she thought she saw Heche. "There would have been a point where that would have made me so nervous. But I realised I felt nothing, and feeling nothing about her was great."
