J.Lo Sued by Ex-Husband

Latina superstar Jennifer Lopez is being sued by her ex-husband Ojani Noa, who claims the singer wrongly fired him as the manager of her California eaterie. Lopez was married to her second spouse Cris Judd when she employed her first husband Noa to take charge of her Pasadena restaurant Madre's in April 2002. Noa, who married Lopez for a year in 1997 when he was a waiter, quit his job managing top Los Angeles nightspot the Conga Room after J.Lo allegedly promised not to fire him "without good cause or reason". In a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Noa claims he was fired from his $208,000 a year job in October 2002 - the same month Lopez got engaged to Ben Affleck - and is seeking unspecified damages. The lawsuit states, "Mr. Noa tried to call Ms Lopez to find out what prompted this sudden change of events. His calls went unreturned."

Drug Companies Warn Employees of Moore

Michael Moore's latest plan to expose the inner workings of America's health-care system has prompted at least six drug companies to warn their employees to watch out for the director. The firms fear that while shooting Sicko, Moore will attempt to stage ambush interviews, a technique which he has used in the past for his film and television work. Stephen Lederer, a spokesman for Pfizer Global Research And Development, says, "We ran a story in our online newspaper saying Moore is embarking on a documentary - and if you see a scruffy guy in a baseball cap, you'll know who it is." Other companies, such as Glaxosmithkline and Astrazeneca have also instructed employees not to answer questions posed by Moore, but to redirect them to each company's communications department. Rachel Bloom, executive director of corporate communications for AstraZeneca, notes, "Moore's past work has been marked by negativity, so we can only assume (Sicko) won't be a fair and balanced portrayal. His movies resemble docudramas more than documentaries." But Moore feels the movie, which is expected to be released in 2006, will strike a common chord with the American public. He explains, "Being screwed by your (health-care provider) and ill-served by pharmaceutical companies is the shared American experience."

Pitt Annoyed with Aniston for Not Wearing Ring

Hollywood actor Brad Pitt is furious with his wife Jennifer Aniston for being photographed not wearing her wedding ring earlier this week. Troy star Pitt is determined to quash persistent media reports he is on the verge of separating from the Friends beauty, and is annoyed her forgetfulness has further added to speculation about the state of their marriage. A source says, "He demanded to know what she was thinking. Jennifer assured Brad that she had simply forgotten to put her rings on that day and that she had no idea it would be seized on like that. The truth is that they're happily married, but all the rumours are beginning to get to them."

Cleese "A Second" Away from Fatal Car Crash

Veteran actor John Cleese is relishing being alive - after his chauffeur fell asleep and narrowly avoided a fatal crash "by about a second". The Monty Python comic, 65, is now enjoying life to the full after he almost died when his sleeping driver almost crashed into another vehicle at high speed. Cleese says, "I nearly died the other day. I was in a car traveling at 75 or 80 miles per hour and I realized my driver had fallen asleep. So I shouted at him and I think we avoided being killed by about a second. So it just shows that life's all a little more fragile than you think."

Clooney Not Engaged to Me, Says Snowdon

Actor George Clooney's reported engagement to Lisa Snowdon has been rubbished by the British TV presenter - because she refuses to live in America. Earlier this week sexy Snowdon was photographed sporting a glittering ring on her wedding finger, but Clooney's on/off girlfriend of three years admits she's too tied down to her Essex, England, roots to set up home in Hollywood. Snowdon also insists she doesn't want a single aspect of her life to change at present. She says, "I love my house. I have owned it for a few years now and I have spent a fortune doing it up. I love my life at the moment and I don't want to change it. I do a bit of everything and have a varied lifestyle. I enjoy everything I do and I don't think I could give that up."

Madonna's Oscar Fury

Madonna flew into a rage when two backstage workers at the 1991 Oscars made errors affecting the perfectionist singer, according to an explosive new book. Film journalist Steve Pond has exposed the Material Girl's diva-like behavior in his new book The Big Show: High Times And Dirty Dealings Backstage At The Academy Awards. Pond claims a female camera operator was seriously injured after falling off the stage into the orchestra pit while Madonna was preparing to rehearse her Dick Tracy tune "Sooner Or Later" to the celebrity-packed audience. But instead of expressing concern, the pop legend was enraged when she was informed her performance had been delayed by the mishap - and reportedly commented, "But she's just lying there. Can't we just do this?" The situation got worse when a technician fell asleep and ruined a planned stunt which was supposed to involve her microphone appearing out of nowhere. Pond recalls in the tome due out next month, "(Madonna launched) into an astonishingly profane tirade, despite the fact that the area below the stage was also occupied by a group of children. Furious, she grabbed (the bearer of the bad news) around the neck and lifted him bodily off the ground, not relinquishing her grip until the trapdoor opened and she began to rise."

Roberts Almost Never Made It to Hospital

Julia Roberts almost failed to make it to the hospital to give birth to her twins last month - because her car broke down. The Oscar-winning beauty, 37, finally made it to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Hollywood with husband Danny Moder when a passing taxi driver picked them up. A source says, "Danny said, 'I did everything I could to keep Julia calm, and played it really cool like it was no problem. But deep down I was panicking big time.'" Roberts later gave birth to daughter Hazel and son Phinnaeus after undergoing an emergency caesarian section.

Gervais Delighted To Be Writing 'The Simpsons'

Golden Globe-winning comic Ricky Gervais has fulfilled his lifetime's ambition - he is writing an episode of The Simpsons. The British Office star will also voice a character in the popular animation show, which will be made next year, although he is keeping the episode's plot a secret. Gervais says, "I've got the rough idea. This is the most intimidating project of my career. The Simpsons is the greatest TV show of all time. I can only make it slightly worse. When I got into comedy my greatest ambition was to get one joke on The Simpsons. I may as well retire now."

Spacey's Darin Portraits

Actor Kevin Spacey has developed such an obsession with singer Bobby Darin, he's commissioned six oil portraits of himself playing the singer in his latest movie. The Hollywood star - who brings the crooner back to life in Beyond The Sea - modeled for the paintings for over half a year, which ultimately cost him $90,000. Artist William Quigley says, "He sat for me for over six months. Kevin was very intense as a model. We started off just doing two canvases, one with an open collar and the other in black tie. But then the project mushroomed."

Paltrow and Martin Plan Baby Number Two?

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are reportedly eager to expand the size of their family, and are already trying for another baby. The celebrity couple welcomed daughter Apple into the world in May, but are desperate to give her a younger sibling, reports Pagesix.Com. According to the New York website, Paltrow was recently overheard telling friends, "We're working on it." A close pal adds, "It wouldn't surprise me if she had another baby by next Christmas."
