Tributes for Reeve Pour In

Tributes for Superman actor Christopher Reeve have come flooding in from family and friends. Reeve, who died of heart failure on Sunday aged 52, was described as a "glorious example of triumph over everything" by his Superman co-star Margot Kidder. Kidder, who played Lois Lane in the comic book movies, adds, "I am so sad. I'm just heartbroken." Another Superman co-star, Susannah York, says, "He was a very real contender for a Superman figure, because of his courage and generosity of spirit. He was fun." Reeve had been confined to a wheelchair since a near-fatal horse-riding accident in Virginia in May 1995, when he fractured the top two vertebrae in his neck and damaged his spinal cord. After coming to terms with his paralysis, Reeve set up the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation and lobbied Congress to fund more research into spinal injuries. US presidential candidate John Kerry described Reeve as a friend who "was truly America's hero. He was an inspiration to all of us and gave hope to millions." Death Wish director Michael Winner says, "We all believed that we would one day see him walk again and instead we see him die really very young. It's terribly sad. My main memory is of his enormous charm. He had great skill as a screen actor and great charisma." Reeve's wife Dana yesterday issued a statement thanking "his personal staff of nurses and aides, as well as the millions of fans from around the world who have supported and loved my husband over the years."
Lopez Insists Fans Will Soon See Her Changes
Jennifer Lopez insists her fans will soon see how much she's changed since splitting with former fiance Ben Affleck. The Wedding Planner star ended her romance with Affleck at the beginning of the year and married salsa singer Marc Anthony just months later - and she now feels her life has been given a truly refreshing change. She says, "I feel like I'm a new person now. I feel like I'm in a different place - a totally different place. It feels like...I was a different person (before). I did all this stuff and it was all great and I had a great time doing it, but I learned a lot. I made some mistakes and I learned from them - I hope. Now I'm taking a new approach. I feel like I'm starting over. It's a whole new phase and it's a new me and I think you're gonna see that in the choices I make, in the work I do and the things I'm doing."
Streisand Happy Not To Be the Star
Barbra Streisand enjoyed playing a supporting role in follow up comedy Meet The Fockers - because she'll escape criticism if the film flops. The singing legend - frequently the focal actress of her previous films - admits accepting a smaller part in the Meet The Parents sequel allowed her to relax in the knowledge she wouldn't be attacked by film writers if the movie failed to delight audiences. The 62-year-old plays Ben Stiller's mother, a sex therapist who takes it upon herself to help future in-laws with their love-making antics. Director, Jay Roach, who spent a year coaxing Streisand out of retirement, says, "She's never done a movie where she wasn't the star. She was grateful to be in an ensemble." Streisand adds, "I'm happy not to have to be worried about every single little thing. If it screws up, it's your fault!"
Jackson Leaves Beverly Hills Mansion
Michael Jackson has moved out of the Beverly Hills, California, mansion he fled his Neverland Ranch to live in. Late last year, the 46-year-old Bad singer indicated he would never go back to live at his Neverland estate near Santa Barbara, after police raided it as part of a criminal investigation into his ongoing child molestation allegations. About nine months ago, Jackson rented the Beverly Hills mansion for around $60,000 a month, but it has now been sold for slightly more than $13 million. The massive property boasts 12 bedrooms, a library, a barbershop/beauty salon, a billiard room, a ballroom/theatre, a wine cellar, an indoor swimming pool and two regulation-size bowling lanes. Jackson had rented the home from Chinese painter Ting Shao Kuang with an option to buy it for $20 million.
Stars Owed Cash by California
Mick Jagger, Ben Affleck and Maria Shriver are being urged to make their way to California and claim a check - because they're owed unclaimed cash by the state. The stars are on a list of more than 6 million "lost" Californians who qualify for a cut of the $3.9 billion held by the state's bureau of unclaimed property. When a company owes someone money but can't find them - or when a bank account is inactive for three years and the owner can't be reached - the funds must be turned over to the state's unclaimed property division. The cash then stays with the government, unless it's claimed by the owner or their heirs. Jagger is eligible for $919, Shriver is owed $258 and Affleck has $1,598 waiting for him. Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Lopez, Bonnie Raitt, Adam Sandler, Quentin Tarantino, Drew Barrymore, Little Richard, Sylvester Stallone and the late Marlon Brando are also owed cash by the state from studio.
Martin and Paltrow Ready To Move Into "Haunted" Home

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow are almost ready to move into their new luxury London home - but neighbors claim the property is haunted. Martin and Oscar-winning Paltrow bought the $5.7 million house off friends Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes and have set about renovating it before moving in. But neighbors claim the pad has a long history of paranormal activity. One neighbor says, "The house was stunning inside, even before Chris and Gwyneth started work, but there is an eerie feeling in there. Past occupants had bad luck in their families and were keen to sell. There were always rumors of unhappiness. Sam and Kate weren't in it for that long, so maybe they felt the same feelings. Hopefully, now the new owners have gutted it, the bad omens will have gone and they will enjoy happier times."
McGregor Desperate for Movie Roles

Film hunk Ewan McGregor is primed for a big screen return after escaping the pressures of Hollywood on a three-month charity motorbike ride around the world. The Star Wars star, who will be appointed an ambassador for Unicef UK after getting involved with the charity on his travels, insists the trip has left him "rejuvenated" and eager to resume his career. He says, "I worked very hard last year, I was tired and wanted a change of scenery. I'm ready to go back to work." McGregor traveled through 12 countries with his friend and fellow actor Charley Boorman over the summer to raise funds for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and visited three Unicef projects in Mongolia, the Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Jovovich: I Relate to Jolie
Milla Jovovich refuses to view fellow action movie babe Angelina Jolie as a rival - preferring instead to see her as an ally. The Resident Evil: Apocalypse star embraces Tomb Raider beauty Jolie because she feels they are kindred spirits who are working towards the same goal. The 28-year-old says, "I love going to see Angelina Jolie kick butt. She's so hot. As a woman, I relate to her rather than seeing her as competition. I might be nervous, like, 'Is my boyfriend watching the movie or watching Angelina?' But she's representing me up there. It's more like, 'Wow, she's one of us.'"
DiCaprio Thanked in Newspaper Advertisement

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been publicly thanked by the con man he played in Catch Me If You Can - in a full page newspaper advertisement. Former serial con artist Frank Abagnale Jr was left so impressed with DiCaprio's portrayal of him in the 2002 movie, when he heard the actor was recently named Actor Of The Year at the Hollywood Film Festival he decided to show his appreciation. The advertisement, placed in a prominent Hollywood trade paper, described DiCaprio as: "A fantastic actor, an extremely talented and compassionate individual and friend."
Stewart Having a "Good Time" in Prison
Martha Stewart reportedly spent her third day in prison playing scrabble and charming her fellow inmates. The lifestyle guru, who begun her five-month term at Alderson, West Virginia's federal prison camp on Friday, is "having a really good time" befriending other prisoners and enjoying visits from her daughter Alexis. A source says of Stewart's guests Alexis and an unnamed male, "They were having a really good time. Martha went outside and sat on the swing. She was swinging and they were sitting right next to her on a bench." Stewart - who was found guilty of lying about a suspicious stock sale - began serving her sentence in the early hours of Friday, sneaking through the photographers and reporters who had been posted there for more than a week.
