Is Mira Sorvino Pregnant?

Newlywed actress Mira Sorvino is pregnant with her first child, according to reports in America. The Mighty Aphrodite star, 36, wed aspiring actor Christopher Backus earlier this year and now the happy couple have another reason to celebrate. American magazine Us Weekly says, "No word on the due date but since the start of their honeymoon in Italy, Sorvino's tummy has become quite visible under her casual clothes." Mira's spokesperson says, "I have no information. What I can say is that they are very happy."

Slim-Fast Drops Whoopi Goldberg After Bush Riff

Ghost star Whoopi Goldberg has been dropped as a spokesperson for diet aid company Slim-fast after reportedly comparing American President George W. Bush's name to crude terms for a vagina. Slim-Fast says it is "disappointed" in Goldberg's remarks at last Thursday's $7.5 million star-studded fund-raiser at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Slim-Fast general manager Terry Olson says in a statement, "Ads featuring Ms. Goldberg will no longer be on the air." Republicans have expressed outrage over the fund-raiser for presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry and his vice presidential running mate, John Edwards, in which entertainers lined up to skewer Bush. The New York Post said of Goldberg's appearance at the event, "Waving a bottle of wine, she fired off a stream of vulgar sexual wordplays on Bush's name in a riff about female genitalia." A spokesperson for Goldberg has declined immediate comment.

Chad Michael Murray Engaged

Freaky Friday hunk Chad Michael Murray has disappointed his hordes of female admirers by announcing his engagement. The 22-year-old actor asked Sophia Bush - his co-star in American TV show One Tree Hill - to marry him two months ago when she went to visit him in Australia, where he was shooting House Of Wax alongside Paris Hilton. Murray had already asked 22-year-old Bush's parents' permission when he treated her to a day at the spa followed by shopping and dinner before taking his girlfriend of less than a year back to their hotel. There, he got down on one knee and presented a stunning diamond ring he had helped design with a local jeweler. He says, "I couldn't bring her home until the sun went down because I had 500 candles and 20 bouquets of roses set up. Then I had this big light stands on a tennis court with a message (spelled out) to her that you could see looking down from the balcony of our 18th-floor penthouse." Bush's parents have already made all of the arrangements for the ceremony, which will take place next year. Murray coos, "She's perfect. She keeps me inspired, and she compliments me very well. She's a neat freak, and I'm dirty. I can't help it. I wrestle with the dogs every day. We watch football on the weekends and keep our life to ourselves."

Matt Damon: "J.Lo and I Got Along"

Matt Damon has hit out at reports he hated best friend Ben Affleck's former fiancee Jennifer Lopez, insisting the pair got on "great". Ben and Jen's relationship - which ended in January - was tarnished by claims long-term pal Damon disapproved of Affleck's choice of partner. But the Bourne Identity star insists he never fell out with either Affleck or Lopez over their relationship. He says, "She was great. I spent four or five afternoons and dinners with them and she was fantastic. She really loved him and he really loved her." Damon adds of his friendship with Affleck - which dates back to their childhoods in Massachusetts - "It's a very old relationship so it's not really conducive of the kind of tabloid stories that want a rocky relationship."

Aniston Spent "Five Hours" at Plastic Surgeons, Says Paper

Hollywood beauty Jennifer Aniston spent five hours at a top Los Angeles cosmetic surgery clinic last week, according to a British newspaper. The Sun says the former Friends star, 35, sneaked into the Lasky Center - which specializes in laser surgery, botox and collagen injections - at 12 noon and didn't leave until 5pm. One onlooker says, "Jennifer went in to the clinic with a friend on Thursday last week. She was very anxious not to be recognized and was later whisked away through the back door. She was there for about five hours before being taken off to a private address. Brad Pitt wasn't with her." Jennifer's husband Brad was snapped going into the same clinic for skin treatments last year.

Lopez & Anthony's Secret Honeymoon

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony followed their super secret wedding ceremony by sneaking off on honeymoon - ironically at the California retreat J.Lo planned to spend her first night as Mrs. Affleck last year. The couple reportedly enjoyed a quickie getaway on June 11 and 12 at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The new Mr. & Mrs. Anthony slept in the same bed that would have welcomed J.Lo and Ben Affleck in the $1,875-a-night Kennedy Suite, which is named after the ranch's most famous honeymooning couple John F Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy.

Newlyweds Nick & Jessica Look To Move On

Pop couple-turned-reality TV stars Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson are considering turning their backs on their MTV show - because they're sick of inviting the public into their home. The pop pair have reinvented themselves thanks to the success of Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica, but now they're looking to move on - and that includes looking for a new home. Simpson says, "Our house is a set. People could walk in and know where the bathroom is, and that is weird. People would come up to the door and want to walk around. We're like, 'No.' We had to put a gate up. It's private property."

Larry King Backs Out of Moore Interview

Chat-show host Larry King has confused controversial director Michael Moore by inexplicably ending talks to book the film-maker for his prime-time talk show. King's producers were negotiating to have the Fahrenheit 9/11 star on the Larry King Live show - and even told Moore's agents they wanted a White House representative on the show to rebut the film's anti-Bush comments - but King's team have refused to continue with the booking, raising suspicions the president's advisors urged King to reject the outspoken political activist. CNN spokesman Matt Furman says, "We don't get into the details of our bookings, but we were considering Moore. His not coming on had nothing to do with the White House. We'd love to have him on someday." White House spokesman Trent Duffy says, "The White House does not do movie reviews." Recent hour-long guests on the show have included the parents of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and risque psychic Char Margolis.

Aguilera Going Bald?

Pop beauty Christina Aguilera has allegedly fallen victim to a devastating hair loss disease. The singer's curly new hair extensions are reportedly covering up bald spots which many suspect have been caused by the stress-related disease alopecia, according to gossip website Pagesix.Com. An insider says, "They don't know if it's alopecia, the disease, or if it's from wearing extensions all these years. Her hair is falling out. Her new look is supposed to cover up the hair that she's already lost." The star's representative flatly denies the allegations: "It's absolutely not true. There is nothing wrong with her hair."

Clive Owen Starstruck by Co-Star Julia Roberts

Clive Owen refuses to believe rumors Hollywood star Julia Roberts is a diva - because she "couldn't have been nicer" when they worked together on new movie Closer. The pair join Jude Law and Natalie Portman in the star studded Mike Nichols drama - currently in post-production - and Owen admits the actress was an entirely different person to one portrayed in the press. He says, "I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I mean, she's probably the most famous actress in the world and you hear all this stuff and read all these things, but she couldn't have been nicer to work with. She was so easy and there was no diva attitude at all, no big entourage of assistants and publicists. I really had a great time with her."
