Michael Jackson Adds Son to Family
E! Online reports that the new issue of People magazine contains the surprising news that Michael Jackson now has a six-month old son, named Prince Michael II, in addition to his 5 year-old son Prince Michael Jackson and 4 year-old daughter Paris Michael Jackson. Citing producer Gary Pudney as its source, People reports that Jackson attended a Siegfried and Roy show in Las Vegas last month with the new addition in tow, introducing him as "my third child." Also according to the magazine, the baby was not adopted but was conceived "the natural way." The mother of the child is unknown, though People cites speculation that the mother may be Jacksons ex-wife, Debbie Rowe. "Anything's possible," an unnamed Jackson friend tells People. "They still have a relationship." Jacksons publicist had no comment. --Prepared by IMDb staff
De Niro Sues Over Birthday Photo
Robert De Niro is suing for $1 million over a photo of him and Sean Penn blowing out their birthday candles. The picture was taken at a private party for the actors, who share the same birthday - August 17 - last year. De Niro was celebrating his 58th birthday and Penn his 41st at De Niro's Tribeca loft during a rooftop party in Manhattan at the time. De Niro's lawyer, Tom Harvey, said a photograph was offered for sale by photo agency Celebrity Vibe and appeared in at least one newspaper and one national magazine. He says, "Our contention, as we hope to prove in the lawsuit, is that someone snuck into a private residence and took unauthorised pictures for profit." Jeffrey Boyard, a co-owner of Celebrity Vibe who is named in the lawsuit, said the agency did nothing wrong. He said, "Our photographer was invited."

Houston Has Another Problem

Troubled singer Whitney Houston is having more problems - with her new album being "rescheduled." And not only has her long-awaited comeback album been delayed, the 39-year- old's latest single has also been panned by critics and she cost her record company a small fortune by snubbing the video shoot after she "took issue" with the script. The song, "Whatchulookinat," is a rant at those talking about her private life, and executives at Whitney's label Arista are now terrified she's going to "do a Mariah Carey." Although she was signed up in a $100 million deal a year ago, Whitney's new album is already overdue, unfinished and untitled. Bosses are desperate to avoid a flop and then having to pay her off as Virgin did with Mariah after her poorly-received album Glitter and subsequent breakdown.
Cage Presses On with Religion
Nicolas Cage looks set to follow his marriage to Lisa Marie Presley by joining her religion, Scientology. According to gossip website NBC.com, sources believe the Leaving Las Vegas star is becoming involved in the controversial religion. Cult and alternative religion expert Rick Ross says, "I strongly suspect that Nicolas Cage is either now taking some Scientology courses or planning to do so in the future. It is very unlikely that any prominent celebrity who is a Scientologist would marry someone who is not involved with Scientology in some way, shape or form. That's not their history and someone as prominent and important to Scientology as Lisa Marie Presley has been would be an unlikely exception." The pair wed earlier this month in Hawaii.
Angela Bassett Attacks Hollywood Treatment of Older Women

Actress Angela Bassett has attacked Hollywood's attitude to age - because women are the only ones shunned as they get older. Bassett, who received an Oscar nomination for her turn as singer Tina Turner in What's Love Got To Do With It, complains that Tinseltown's ageing leading men are often considered a good match with young actresses, while the middle-aged female stars are lumbered into the "over the hill" category. The screen star, 44, says, "I think a man figures he can get a young girl. He could be 90 years old and get Anna Nicole Smith. But a woman is 40 and she's over the hill. They're not gonna cast you in movies. You know ... suddenly you're not gifted ... you're not attractive. But of course, you are." But one area Bassett is happy to see slowly changing in Hollywood is the attitude towards black actors. She explains, "I'm proud of the progress Hollywood is making. When I read for roles sometimes - like Strange Days, The Score or Supernova - my characters aren't defined by skin type. We're all human beings, and I hope we keep moving toward that."
Kidman And Crowe Plan Australian Film

Old friends Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe are planning to work together on an Australian movie in the near future. The Aussie pair, who dated briefly several years ago, are waiting for "that perfect script" before embarking on the project, according to Kidman. She says, "I want Russell and me to do an Australian film together. It'd be cool for us to come back to Australia and do something together. Russell might direct something and maybe I'd do something in that. Both of us love Oz so much, and we both feel very protected when we're home." Crowe's long-term on-off girlfriend Danielle Spencer may be less happy about the collaboration. "Somebody Else's Princess," a song by Crowe's band 30 Odd Foot Of Grunts, is reportedly about Kidman, and he recently flew to Sweden to see her.
Hugh Grant Loves Superficial Women

Actor Hugh Grant loves being famous because it means he gets to meet loads of really superficial women. The About a Boy star says that the type of girls who are attracted to him tend to be focused on the fact that he's a well-known, rich movie star - and that's just the way he likes it. He says, "Stars attract a certain kind of superficial woman. And I like superficial women." And the Notting Hill hunk reveals that he's quite capable of employing his own brand of artifice to pick up hot chicks - including one occasion when he deliberately reopened a cut picked up in a game of rugby because it impressed the girls at his school. He says, "I have already tried the cheapest tricks. The girls seemed to like me with the cut but it soon started to heal. So I just cut it open again using my mum's razor blade. It was pathetic."
Northam Offers Shelter to 'Possession' Star

British actor Jeremy Northam has come to the aid of his Possession co- star Jennifer Ehle by offering her shelter after a fire wrecked her home. The hospitable Gosford Park star opened up his rural retreat in Norfolk, England, to Ehle and her family when the actress was left homeless. He says, "She'd gone back to London to sell her apartment and had a fire so was without a home. I said, 'Come and visit my place out in the countryside.' They came and stayed a couple of weeks, which was really nice. I wasn't there all the time, they just squirreled themselves away. I loved it. I like to entertain. I like to cook anything that stays still long enough to be cooked. I cook a lot of fish up in Norfolk because it's near the coast. We all ate a lot of fish. I like Jennifer."
Bratt's Romantic Hawaiian Hideaway

Movie star Benjamin Bratt is on the hunt for a home on Hawaiian island paradise Kauai, so he can plan romantic bonfires with his new wife Talisa Soto. The hunky Peruvian actor loves nothing better than to wrap himself up in a beach blanket with his bride, while listening to the sounds of the sea and the music of Sade. Bratt reveals, "I've rented a house on a little bay in Kauai a couple of times and I want to make that a tradition. Having the beach right outside your window would be great. Building a little bonfire at night on the beach and lying on a blanket with my wife under the stars is not only sexy, it's romantic."

Barbra Streisand is to come out of retirement to help boost America's Democrats. The political activist, a supporter of the Democratic Party, will perform at a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on September 29 at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre - the new home of the Oscars. Other stars billed to support Streisand on the night include Barry Manilow.
