J.Lo Files For Divorce
Jennifer Lopez yesterday filed for divorce from her second husband Cris Judd - just 10 months after they tied the knot. The couple announced they were separated last month, but friends claim they have been living apart for much of the summer. The court papers list the date of separation as June 2, five days before news broke of the split. In papers filed at Los Angeles Supreme Court, Lopez cited irreconcilable differences the reason behind the split. She has asked that Judd doesn't receive spousal support and lawyers for both claim all issues arising out of their marriage have been resolved. A statement issued by the lawyers reads, "Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd have announced they have resolved all issues arising out of their marriage. The resolution was extremely amicable. The two will remain friends." J.Lo had initially turned to Judd for support after her relationship with rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Combs collapsed last year. The actress's first marriage, to Ojani Noa, ended in divorce in 1998 after a year. The news of divorce proceedings will further fuel rumors of a romance between Lopez and Gigli co-star Ben Affleck, who was a guest at her birthday in New York on Wednesday night. The couple have spent every day together this week, dining at Robert De Niro's Nobu restaurant in New York on Monday and spending time together on the set of J.Lo's new movie The Chambermaid. Affleck also threw a surprise lunchtime birthday party for his girlfriend hours before a planned bash, where he presented her with a Harry Winston diamond bracelet.

Britney On Her Way Out?

Pop princess Britney Spears' career is in crisis with falling album and merchandise sales - according to music industry sources. Just three years after she burst onto the scene with provocative debut single "...Baby One More Time," fans are losing interest in the sexy singer - and are no longer prepared to splash out on her music and merchandise. Even though she has raked in career earnings of around $60 million, figures published in British tabloid the Sun show Britney's latest, eponymous, album sold just 3.7 million copies - less than half the sales of her previous effort Oops I Did It Again. And in Britain, her popularity has waned so much, her last two singles failed to make the number one spot and she was booed at the premiere of her movie Crossroads in March. A source told the Sun, "Young teenage girls are her bread and butter--and they're losing interest in her. The money is just not coming in. To the music industry, that means one thing--her star is falling. Everyone and everything has a shelf life, even Britney Spears. If she puts out another album there's a chance numbers could fall even further. The day he record sales drop below a million you will probably be looking at Britney's final album." Sources close the singer claim one of the reasons behind Britney's fading popularity is the fact fans are beginning to notice the truth behind Britney's well-preened image. One of Spears' former dancers says, "It's not that she's rude. She tries to be fairly pleasant to most people. It's just that she's boring. Her fans are starting to see through that and they are moving on to other artists. The front row kids are starting to see that she mimes quite a bit at her shows. At a gig last year in Dallas there was almost a riot when the young audience started to notice." The figures add to what has been a bad year for Britney. She split from long term love Justin Timberlake in March, her parents have since separated, and she has had to face tabloid reports that she smokes and has put on weight because of depression.
