Tom Hanks, Jar Jar Binks And Another 'Twilight' Star Gets Naked In Today's Twitter-Wood
1 hour ago
For those of you following the Edi Gathegi and Christian Serratos' exchanges of the last few days, there are two more to share today, including a photo proving that the two "New Moon" performers were able to connect. Gathegi may have even had to naked for the occasion, according to Serratos' account, but don't worry. The picture is totally Sfw.
Tom Hanks stepped into the recording studio for "Toy Story 3," meanwhile, and the film's diligent director Lee Unkrich documented their their session. Check out all of those posts after the jump where you'll also find Simon Pegg's beef with Jar Jar Binks, Kat Dennings' new rule about seal impression etiquette and what Brian Lynch wants to see happen with the fourth "Twilight" movie. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for December 10, 2009.

Clint Eastwood On 'Hereafter': 'Well Lady Gaga And Taylor Swift...'
Okay, that headline's a joke. Well the quote is real, but the speaker was only kidding. Director Clint Eastwood will follow up tomorrow's "Invictus" with "Hereafter," which is tentatively scheduled for release late next year. Gaga and Swift have nothing to do with the project; Eastwood was merely referring to an earlier moment in the interview, when the two pop stars came up, along with everybody's favorite vampire series, "Twilight."
In truth, little has been said about "Hereafter." So that's exactly what MTV's Josh Horowitz questioned Eastwood about when the two spoke during the "Invictus" press tour. The director didn't quite go as far as delving into spoiler territory, but he did run through a basic idea of what the story's all about.
"It's a story that's actually three stories of people who have had traumatic experiences in their life," he explained, adding "and how these stories converge towards one another.

Cameron Diaz Returns To Raunch As A 'Bad Teacher'
Cameron Diaz can do sweet romantic comedies like "The Holiday" and tearjerker dramas like "My Sister's Keeper" and even the occasional period piece like "Gangs of New York," but her true calling has always been raunchy comedy. Now, to add to her gross-out work in "There's Something About Mary" and "The Sweetest Thing," the actress will star in Columbia Pictures' "Bad Teacher," according to Variety.
Jake Kasdan, who last gave us "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story," is directing the comedy, about a "foulmouthed, gold-digging middle-school teacher," who battles with another faculty member for dibs on a hot co-worker. The idea of a fought-over "model teacher" makes me imagine "Glee" star Matthew Morrison as the male lead, but that will never happen.
What makes "Bad Teacher" sound more appealing than, say, "What Happens in Vegas?" is that the script was written by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, of TV's

Bryce Dallas Howard On 'Eclipse,' The Experience Of Joining The 'Twilight' Cast Three Movies In
2 hours ago
From MTV.Com: "Twilight" fans are notoriously fickle when it comes to the actors chosen to bring their favorite Stephenie Meyer character to life. In fact, it's now the stuff of "Twilight" legend that following the announcement that Robert Pattinson's would be portraying brooding vampire Edward Cullen, online petitions circled feverishly, decrying the British actor's participation in the saga. A similar uproar occurred last July, when just weeks before production was to begin on the third "Twilight" installment "Eclipse," Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachelle Lefevre as villainous vampire Victoria due to scheduling conflicts. Howard revealed to MTV News that the prospect of taking over the role Lefevre originated in both "Twilight" and "New Moon" was a bit daunting.
"It was actually a really unfortunate circumstance where the actress who everyone really cared deeply about, who has done an amazing job in this role, was unavailable," Howard said, explaining her last-minute casting.

Morgan Freeman Is Nelson Mandela In 'Invictus'... Here Are Five More Historical Figures He Should Play
3 hours ago
"Invictus" star Morgan Freeman is a familiar and comforting presence in his film appearances, almost distractingly so at this point in his career (particularly when he's playing more of a villain role, as in "Wanted"). Close to 20 years of his grandfatherly demeanor onscreen has made his performances somewhat difficult to take seriously. When you’re sitting in the theater watching “Invictus” this Friday, at no point are you going to be thinking, “Hey, there’s Nelson Mandela up there.” You’re going to be like, “Aw snap, listen to Morgan Freeman’s South African accent. That’s adorable.”
I say it’s high time we start intentionally putting Freeman in even more recognizable leading roles. This is an actor who audiences have already accepted as the creator of the universe. Twice. He can play anything and anyone on screen and the audience will accept it. As the film industry plots

From Vampires And Werewolves In 'Twilight' To 'Fallen' Angels
3 hours ago
From Hollywood Crush: Tired of vampires and werewolves yet? So may be Hollywood, where there seems to be a scramble to figure out what kind of fantastical creature will be the next big thing. A few months ago, we thought faeries were taking over. But now The Hollywood Reporter is claiming “angels have been identified as the next trend in young-adult fiction.”
Evidence of this supposed craze comes with the announcement that Disney is bringing Lauren Kate’s new young-adult novel “Fallen” to the big screen. The book, which is the first of a four-part series, involves a love triangle between a teen girl and two guys, both of whom are fallen angels.
Sounds like “Twilight” with cherubim, and I can already envision the “Team Daniel” and “Team Cam” t-shirts aligned to each of the angelic suitors. Angels as love interests is hardly a new concept, of course, with films like “The Bishop’s Wife,

Exclusive: 'Fantastic Voyage' Is The Secret James Cameron/Shane Salerno Collaboration You've Been Hearing About
4 hours ago
In the early Am hours on December 9, an attention-grabbing tweet popped up in the Twitter feed for Production Weekly: "James Cameron is developing a Shane Salerno-scripted sci-fi action script for Fox, described as an "event" film set in the future." Speculation immediately ran wild that said project was "Doomsday Protocol," a pitch Salerno sold to Fox last year that was described as being a sort of space-based take on Akira Kurosawa's "The Seven Samurai."
It turns out that this is not the case. MTV News' Josh Horowitz spoke with Cameron and producer Jon Landau on the red carpet at the London premiere of "Avatar," and the project in question has nothing to do with space-age samurai. The actual plan is to remake sci-fi classic "Fantastic Voyage," in 3-D, with Cameron taking on the role of producer.
In the original, a small team attempts to save the life of

Jason Segel To Unleash His Inner Vampire Next Week On 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson'
Next Tuesday, December 15, marks the 1000th episode of "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" on CBS. You care about this because, among the other guests, Ferguson will get some time with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star Jason Segel. It's actually a little bit more than that. Segel's appearance on the show will be a musical one: he'll perform with his puppet Dracula and the band The Broken West.
Some background might be in order here for those who haven't yet seen "Sarah Marshall." Segel's character in the movie writes a Dracula-inspired rock opera for puppets entitled "A Taste for Love." The song he'll be performing on "The Late Late" show, "Dracula's Lament," is from that rock opera, and The Broken West will be his backing band. Got it? Check out the video after the jump... that ought to clear things up.

Johnny Depp On 'Public Enemies': 'I Haven't Seen The Film Yet'
by Rya Backer
Johnny Depp hasn’t seen "Public Enemies," but Japanese fans — don’t let that keep you from checking out the flick when it comes out this weekend (note: yes, it was released Stateside when the weather was really, really warm).
"I haven't seen the film yet," Depp confessed during a press conference in Japan for the movie — his first appearance in the country in nearly two years.
Depp went on to explain his motive for taking the role of John Dillinger, the infamous Depression-era bank robber who the story is centered on. "The thing that most attracted me to the script really was Dillinger himself," he declared in his trademark, mysterious, from-neither-Kentucky-nor-Florida accent. "I mean, the character of John Dillinger, who is, I think I've said before, or maybe I didn't... I was kind of semi-obsessed with him as a child."
"Dillinger somehow struck a chord in me.

'Harry Potter' Star Tom Felton Describes The 'Deathly Hallows' Final Showdown Shoot
5 hours ago
From MTV.Com: It's all been building to this: the battle to the death between Harry Potter and his Dark Arts-enabled adversary Voldemort on the hallowed grounds of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Devotees J.K. Rowling's boy wizard series already know how the clash ends in the final book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," but no one yet knows how it will be handled on screen. Stay tuned until the summer of 2011, when the second part of "Deathly Hallows" arrives in theaters, to find out.
Until then, we'll have to go on what its castmembers have to say. Stopping by MTV News to promote the DVD of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," star Tom Felton raved about the climatic combat scene and the way it brings so much of the cast together at once.

James Cameron Is Thinking About A Project To Reunite With Arnold Schwarzenegger
6 hours ago
Early in the Aughts, Arnold Schwarzenegger made the move from Hollywood to the office of the Governor of California. Since then he's popped up in a poofy-haired cameo in "Around the World in 80 Days" (actually filmed before Arnie's 2003 election) and filmed a small role for Sylvester Stallone's upcoming action flick, "The Expendables."
Yet soon the Terminator will be leaving office, and while there is talk that he could make a run for the Senate, there's also word out in the ether that he'll return to a big screen career. In an interview set to run as part of MTV's "Behind the Screen" show on December 16, at 4pm Est, director James Cameron—who created Schwarzenegger's most iconic role in the "Terminator" films—revealed that he just might be the one who ushers the Gov back in front of the camera.

Sorry 'Twilight' Fans: 'Vlad' Won't Play With Vampires
7 hours ago
When we heard that the studio behind "Twilight" would be producing a biopic about Vlad III, we naturally assumed there'd be some reference to the 15th century ruler's vampire legacy (Vlad the Impaler is the inspiration for the Dracula myth). But according to the writer of "Vlad," there will be no mention of the bloodsucking reputation made famous in Bram Stoker's classic novel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Hunnam, who also stars on the hit TV series "Sons of Anarchy," admits it was a stipulation in the selling of his script that vampirism not be involved.
Instead, Hunnam describes the film as something between "Braveheart" and "300," though more historically accurate than the latter. "Vlad" will depict the full life of the Wallachian prince, through all his battles with the Ottoman Empire and the development of his mythological notoriety as Vlad the Impaler. Mostly though, Hunnam says the

Exclusive: 'Green Lantern' Writer To Start Writing Superman Comics
7 hours ago
From Splash Page: "Green Lantern" and "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds isn't the only guy pulling double duty with some of comics most popular characters these days. Next year, "Green Lantern" movie (and former "FlashForward" television series) co-writer Marc Guggenheim will jump into the driver's seat on DC's "Action Comics" series and script the adventures of the Man of Steel himself, Superman.
With DC already announcing that its next big event will kick off in 2010 with the title "War of the Supermen," it looks to be a big year for Kal-El. I caught up with Guggenheim to get more details on his upcoming debut as the regular writer on one of the industry's longest-running series, and what he has planned for one of the world's most popular superheroes.

Exclusive: Chris Pine Discusses Taking Over Jack Ryan from Alec Baldwin And Harrison Ford
8 hours ago
So it's official. First Alec Baldwin, followed by Harrison Ford, then Ben Affleck for a hot minute, and now Chris Pine. The "Star Trek" star will take over the role of Jack Ryan in the first adaptation of Tom Clancy's book series since 2002's "The Sum of All Fears."
Just before this confirmation dropped—courtesy of producer Mace Neufeld—MTV News spoke with Pine about the prospect of becoming Ryan on-screen. After blowing people away with his reworking of William Shatner's iconic take on James T. Kirk, how hard could it be to make Ryan his own? No easy feat, Pine said, but undoubtedly less daunting than his "Star Trek" challenge.
"I think it's because Mr. Shatner's portrayal of the character was so specific, [Jack Ryan] is a different beast," Pine explained. "If you were to poll people, I think eight out of 10 people could tell you what role Shatner made famous.

Rachel Weisz Recalls Playing Laser Tag With 'The Lovely Bones' Director Peter Jackson
8 hours ago
From MTV.Com: On its surface, a movie about a dead 14-year-old reflecting on her gruesome murder and how it has torn apart her family doesn't exactly sound like the feel-good movie of the winter. But this weekend's "The Lovely Bones" comes from a one-of-a-kind best-selling novel, and with "Lord of the Rings" filmmaker Peter Jackson at the helm, it might just be one of the most life-affirming films of the year.
"I love it; I think it's beautiful," explained Rachel Weisz, who plays the grieving mother of Susie ("Atonement" Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan), a murdered young girl narrating the film from the beautiful "In-Between" as she makes her way to heaven. "It's very uplifting, optimistic and hopeful. It's obviously about a very serious subject matter, but I think that the overriding feeling is very hopeful and optimistic and shows you life is a miracle and a treasure, and how

'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' Stills Offer Magical Views Of Nicolas Cage, Alfred Molina, Jay Baruchel
9 hours ago
Yesterday, I brought you word that the trailer for Disney's live-action telling of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" had hit the Internet. It's maybe not the most spellbinding trailer you'll ever see, but it gives a good idea of what to expect from Disney's latest magical romp. For those who don't know, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" originates in the Disney animated feature "Fantasia," which plays as a series of short animated sequences set to orchestral music. "Apprentice" is perhaps the most famous segment, featuring Mickey Mouse as a wizard-in-training who accidentally breathes life into an army of mops.
Hot on the heels of yesterday's trailer, here are some all-new stills from the summer 2010 release. Click the image below to check out our full flipbook gallery.

In The Studio For 'Up In The Air' In Today's Daily TwitPic
10 hours ago
I missed it this past weekend, but one of the movies to watch out for this year as we slide into awards season is "Up in the Air," director Jason Reitman's follow-up to "Juno." The flick stars George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate hatchetman who spends the larger portion of his days in flight, constantly moving from place to place in the execution of his work. He is, to put it simply, a man whose life is in constant flux, someone with no point to which he can ground himself.
The movie hasn't even opened in wide release yet, but the powers-that-be are already prepping the home video release. In today's Daily TwitPic, you get to see Reitman, first assistant director Jason Blumenfeld and cinematographer Eric Steelberg in the studio, recording their audio commentary. There's even a Clooney cameo, if you look carefully.

More 'Star Wars' Movies On The Horizon?!
9 December 2009 4:15 PM, PST
Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod.
Okay. Calm. My... let's call it my appreciation for "Star Wars" is well-documented on this blog. In addition to my weekly "Clone Wars" recaps, I generally try to grab every single bit of content I can that's in any way related to the classic sci-fi franchise conceived by George Lucas. It's just how I roll.
Never, not in a million years or in a galaxy far, far away, would I ever have dreamed that we might one day see another "Star Wars" movie. Not in Lucas' lifetime, anyway. (see also: "Star Trek") And yet that possibility now exists in this world, thanks to some sleuthing by our pals at Ain't It Cool News.
The slightly-more-than-a-rumor-but-probably-just-a-typo comes from the personal blog of Thomas Dolby, the composer of -- among other things -- the score for "Howard the Duck," a George Lucas classic. (yes, I said classic-- naysayers can kindly

'Twilight' Stars Callin' Each Other, Tiger Woods And Nicky Hilton Gets Robbed In Today's Twitter-Wood
9 December 2009 4:00 PM, PST
"New Moon" stars Christian Serratos and Edi Gathegi appear to be taking their conversations about gummi bear attacks off Twitter and over to a private phone conversation, for whatever that's worth. There may be some obstacles between them and this fated phone call, but they sound like they want to strike out against the odds and make it work.
In more substantive tweets, Paris Hilton has a beef with the delayed police response she says her sister Nicky received after her home was broken into Tuesday. Check out what she posted after the jump along with David Wain's take on Tiger Woods' situation, some behind-the-scenes looks at "Toy Story 3" and the "Up in the Air" DVD and James Gunn's cinematographer's impressive gear.
