Exclusive Interview: Ian McKellen (The Prisoner)
Everything is fair game for a remake these days, even something as iconic as The Prisoner (TV). At least with their re-imagining, AMC is going all out, delivering a lush six-episode series starring Jim Caviezel as Six -- the prisoner role played by Patrick McGoohan in the classic old show he created -- and Ian McKellen as Two, the enigmatic leader of The Village, from which newcomer Six seeks to escape. AMC will air the six episodes over three nights starting on Nov. 15. McKellen -- during a recent exclusive interview with PopStar -- told us that this new version of The Prisoner is most definitely not your grandpa's Prisoner. "The old one was about the preoccupations of the time and the idea of socialism, and it was Orwellian in a way," McKellen said. "I don't think there were any black faces in it. If you're going to tell that story »

9 November 2009 8:16 AM, PST
Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) are painfully beautiful in their brooding "I'm a vampire and I wanna drink your blood" kind of way. For many this task might be hard, but if you look past the handsome vampires, you will find two hotties waiting in the wings. Granted they are no bloodsuckers, however, their tender, sweet, and passionate onscreen characters have stolen our hearts. Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R. McQueen) plays Elena Gilbert's (Nina Dobrev) younger and troubled brother. After their parents unexpected death, Jeremy struggles to find an ease to his sadness. Even through the tortured pain, we spotted this hottie out in the early episodes as leading man material. For know, the strong male lead sits quietly in the background, but soon enough he will emerge as the shows superstar. Glee Vol. 1 Soundtrack Review
9 November 2009 7:13 AM, PST
Glee (TV) fans now have something else to be gleeful about: not only is the show going great and already picked up for a full season, but Glee: The Music, Volume 1 is out now, and in 17 songs spread across a full hour it captures everything that's fun and offbeat and daring about the hit Fox ensemble show that follows the highs, lows, loves, and trials and tribulations of a high school glee club (and those affected by it, including faculty members, the cheerleading squad, and the football team). On the show, the pop hits and show tunes are usually employed to express a particular character's feelings -- or those of the group collectively -- at a given moment, but the numbers also, for the most part, hold up on their own, separate from the series. Fans know that the songs are as ecclectic as the characters. Other than a »
