First Images from Makoto Shinkai’s Next Film

As a small Christmas present, Japanese director, animator, voice actor and alleskönner Makoto Shinkai (Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days and 5 Centimeters Per Second) has published two concept artworks from his next, yet unnamed animation project. He did not reveal many plot details, but the film will be about a girl heading on a journey.

Trailer for The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Live-Action Adaptation

Synopsis via Nippon Cinema:
The film stars Riisa Naka as Akari, the 18-year-old daughter of the protagonist of the original novel, Kazuko Yoshiyama (played by Narumi Yasuda). When Kazuko is injured in a car accident and falls into a coma, Akari leaps back in time to the 70s to seek out her mother’s first love, Kazuo Fukamachi. Instead, she meets a college student named Ryota (Akiyoshi Nakao) who helps her with her search.

Louis Koo Shoots To Kill in Derek Yee’s Triple Tap

In this first teaser trailer for Derek Yee’s upcoming action thriller Triple Tap (at least thematically related to Double Tap the 2000 film and the shooting technique), Louis Koo can show of his impressive shooting skills. The other shootouts in the film probably won’t be as unidirectional like the one shown in the teaser as Koo’s adversary played by Daniel Wu has also spent some time at the shooting ranch.

Champion competitive marksman Ken stumbles into the middle of an armoured van robbery. He sees a policeman held hostage and shoots and kills four of the robbers. One of the robbers escapes and the policeman survives. The case is handled by Jerry Chang, whom Ken knows from having recently beaten him in a shooting match. Ken is found not guilty in court – for killing the robbers – but soon after, Ken is attacked by the escaped robber Pang Tao. »
