Big B to fly down with Paa for Ilaiyaraja

It's going to be one helluva packed weekend for Big B. On Thursday after the premiere of Paa, which finally wrapped up, he drives down early morning on Friday to Lonavla to shoot for Bigg Boss. After a hectic day of Boss-ing early Saturday morning, the Big B leaves for Chennai with a print of Paa to show to the musical maestro Ilaiyaraja who didn't want to fly down to Mumbai for the premiere. Confirming Big B's Chennai plans Paa director, Balki says, "Raja Sir(Ilaiyaraja)didn't want to leave his work and come. Yes, Amitji is indeed going to be in Chennai on Saturday. And Raja Sir will be watching it. Friday was impossible because of Amitji's Bigg Boss commitment." After recording for Ilaiyaraja last month Big B has become hugely hooked to the musical maestro's talents. The minute he heard that Ilaiyaraja couldn't make it for the Mumbai premiere, »

"I will be producing 5 films next year; my next will be a comedy" - Madhur Bhandarkar

So what if L. K. Advani saw Jail on Saturday 28 November and told Bhandarkar to make more of such meaningful films? Madhur is done with films on grim social issues, but only for now. His next directorial venture will be a laugh riot. "Yes, I'm starting a comedy, though not slapstick like De Dana Dan. It would be more like the comedies of Hrishikesh Mukherjee." Come January 2010, Madhur Bhandarkar will be producing 5 films for his banner Bhandarkar Films. "Two of these," informs Bhandarkar, "will be directed by me. Three others will be produced by me and directed by newcomers who I think deserve a break." Madhur will direct two films one after the other in the first few months of 2010. While one of the films that Madhur will direct will be a comedy, the other will be hard-hitting women's subject. "I'm not giving up my forte. I'm identified with a »

Live Chat: Sameera Reddy December 4 at 1600 hrs Ist

2 December 2009 6:33 AM, PST

She is hot, hotter, and the hottest! She is someone for whom the words like 'grace', 'poise' and 'stylish' seem like an understatement. She is none other than Sameera Reddy, the very name that symbolises perfection to the core, in whatever she does. Even though her debut romance with the camera was in the Pankaj Udhas' music video 'Aahista Aahista', her climb on the success ladder was anything but 'Aahista'. A gradual though but-obvious step, this lady took her giant leap from doing music videos to films with Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, a film that gave Bollywood its very own all-rounder, who is not just a stunner, but also can act exceptionally well. She was recently seen in the season's blockbuster De Dana Dan. Sameera Reddy will be live with you guys on December 4 at 1600 hrs Ist on Bollywood Hungama's Celebrity Chat. Make sure you tune in or simply be left out. »

Himesh Reshammiya will watch Paa on Friday afternoon

2 December 2009 2:13 AM, PST

For decades now Himesh Reshammiya has watched every Amitabh Bachchan starrer first-day first-show. Guess where Himesh will be on Friday afternoon? Not checking out the collections of his own release Radio, but glued to Paa in a theatre close to him. And no power on earth can change a rule that Himesh has been following from his childhood of watching every Bachchan flick on the day of release. Himesh Reshammiya is going ahead with the unthinkable. He's releasing his new starrer Radio along with the Bachchans' Paa. But there's no feeling of competition. On the contrary, Himesh is a self-confessed ardent fan of the Big B and that remains unchanged. "I've always been a diehard fan of Bachchan saab... I've to watch all his films first day first show. Paa is no exception. And so what if my own film is releasing side by side?" Himesh says he's ecstatic to »

1 December 2009 2:20 AM, PST

Notwithstanding the box office failure of Kurbaan, Karan Johar, Rensil D'Silva and Utv Motion Pictures would be making another movie together. In fact, work has already begun on the scripting of the film and Karan has declared that the trio has a point to prove this time around. "At Dharma Productions, one of the prime virtues is that of loyalty. Our track record shows that. I have never doubted Rensil's capability even though the film hasn't worked at the box office. This doesn't stop me from having him direct another film for my production house. Similarly, our association with Utv has been great too. I am thrilled with the kind of support they gave to Wake Up Sid and Kurbaan. This is why it is imperative that we all come together again", says Karan Johar. It's bonus time: Akshay-Katrina rain song back in De Dana Dan

1 December 2009 1:51 AM, PST

The inevitable has happened. Owing to popular demand, 'Gale Lag Ja' - the rain song and dance number featuring the lead pair of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif - has been added to the film's narrative. Though this much hyped song had created quite some buzz en route to the release of De Dana Dan, it was chopped off from the final copy of the print since it was adding to the film's length. However, the makers of De Dana Dan were open to the idea of incorporating the song as an added bonus if audiences demanded so and the film worked at the box office. With weekend collections being quite strong worldwide, the final call was taken around bringing back the song in the narrative. Confirms Ratan Jain, producer of De Dana Dan, "We were clear that the song would be added only if the film did well at the box office. »

Just recently, Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi? was honoured at the South Asian International Film Festival in New York. It's Thursday for 'Radio'

Download Radio wallpapers Himesh Reshammiya has decided to release Radio on a Thursday, instead of a Friday. "The numbers 4 and 8 aren't lucky for me. Karzzzz was released on October 17 last year, which totals to 8. I was dead against releasing the film on that date and my worst fears came true when Karzzz flopped. That's why I decided against releasing Radio on December 4 [Friday]. Instead, we will release the film on the evening of December 3 [Thursday]," Himesh explains his stand. Himesh is now eagerly awaiting the response to Radio. This time, Himesh is keen on pleasing the multiplex junta. "You need to accept the fact that the booty comes in from the multiplexes. You need to have the mandate of this segment of moviegoers, if you want to play a long innings. That's precisely why Radio is targeted at this segment," he states. Live Chat: Emraan Hashmi December 3 at 1600 hrs Ist

30 November 2009 9:48 AM, PST

The very moment one utters the term 'Perfection', you immediately recall Aamir Khan. When one utters the term 'brawn', you recall Salman Khan. The very way, when anyone utters the term 'kiss', the only name that pops in every human mind is that of Emraan Hashmi. He is the man who redefined the term 'kissing' in his own sweet way, so much so that he was 'conferred' the term of 'Serial Kisser', something that Bollywood had never seen or witnessed before! Even though he debuted in Bollywood with the film Footpath, he shot into all-time fame with Murder. He is someone who is known for not just crystal clear nature but also crystal clear image, both on screen and off it. After having delivered an array of hits at the Box-office, this man has set afire the silver screen with his splendid performance in the season's latest hit Tum Mile. »

30 November 2009 4:48 AM, PST

She is undoubtedly the eternal pride of India, who can rightly be called as the 'Living Goddess'. No prizes for guessing as to we are indeed referring to the one and only Lata Mangeshkar, India's answer to perfection and grace. Giving any award to this lady is as equivalent to holding a small match stick before the blazing sun. But the greatness of this lady is that, even at this age and stature, she welcomes the awards with grace and poise. The latest one to adorn the beauty of the legendary singer's already overflowing showcase of awards is that of the French government, who will confer the Insignia of Officer de la Légion d'Honneur (Officer of the Legion of Honour) on this lady.
