Smokin’ Aces 2: Electric Boogaloo Gets a Trailer

27 October 2009 3:56 PM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Sure, the title of the direct-to-dvd follow-up to Joe Carnahan's wicked violent Smokin' Aces isn't Electric Bugaloo, but I happen to like it better than Smokin' Aces 2: Assassin's Ball. So sue me. This prequel, from director P.J. Pesce (Lost Boys: The Tribe), follows the story of several of the world's greatest, sexiest and most obnoxiously insane assassins -- all looking to kill one man, the criminally pedestrian Tom Berenger. More specifically, the plot goes something like this: Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is an unassuming desk jockey at the FBI when the Bureau uncovers a plot to assassinate him. A team of degenerate, psychotic assassins dispatched by mystery man Hal Leuco to win a huge bounty includes a resourceful beauty who has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Vinnie Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan). Valentine: Cancelled CW Series Returns with Unaired Episodes

28 June 2009 6:15 AM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

It may be a kinda late but the CW network is finally showing a little love to the fans of the ill-fated dramady, Valentine.

Valentine is a quirky drama that follows a group of mythological gods whose continued existence depends on their helping mortals to find true love. It stars Christine Lakin, Autumn Reeser, Robert Baker, Kristoffer Polaha, Greg Ellis, Jaime Murray, and Patrick Fabian.

The series debuted on October 5, 2008 as part of Media Rights Capital's deal with the CW network to lease the network's Sunday night timeslots.

The premiere of Valentine attracted just 1.1 million viewers and a 0.3/1 rating/share among adults 18-49. To put the numbers in perspective, CW’s little-watched Life is Wild drew 50% more viewers one year earlier.

The ratings for subsequent episodes were even worse and it wasn't long before production of the show was shut down. The series was then cancelled amidst »
