Cancelled Series 'Jericho' Getting the Big Screen Green Light?

26 June 2008 5:31 PM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

Even though attempts to keep the series alive on CBS didn't work out too well for its fans, Jericho could soon be headed to a theater near you.

Two of the show's stars, Ashley Scott and Brad Beyer, have gone on record saying that there is movement toward a movie version of the show, which would pick up on the events that occurred in a small Kansas town following a nuclear blast.

Says Scott, "We caught wind of a possible movie idea, which we thought was really good. I think Brad had heard about it online the other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it."

Beyer echoes Scott's calls for a fitting conclusion to the storyline: "We kind of feel like it needs some closure, because it still feels kind of weird. I mean,

Jericho Heading To The Big Screen?

26 June 2008 12:04 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

U.S. TV drama Jericho could be heading to the big screen, according to the show's stars Ashley Scott and Brad Beyer.

The series - a portrayal of America post-nuclear attacks - was axed by network CBS in March after a small, devoted group of fans begged TV bosses to green light a second series last year.

But now supporters of the programme could be in for a treat if movie bosses give the go ahead for a film version of the show.

And Scott insists that she, and her co-star Brad Beyer, would both be interested in signing on to the project.

She says, "We caught wind of a possible movie idea, which we thought was really good. I think Brad had heard about it online the other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it."

Beyer adds, "We kind of feel like it needs some closure, because it still feels kind of weird. I mean, we didn't get to a whole second season. ... I think you can do a lot more with it. I think there's a lot of different ways you can go with the story."

'Jericho' ... The Movie?

26 June 2008 2:14 AM, PDT | From syfyportal.com | See recent syfyportal news

If fans aren't successful in getting the twice-canceled "Jericho" back to television, it seems there might be a movie option in the works. Brad Beyer and Ashley Scott, who were stars of the show that lasted about a season-and-a-half thanks to a highly successful fan nut campaign, told SciFi Wire at the Saturn Awards ceremony they had been hearing rumors of putting the post-apocalyptic drama on the big screen. "We got here and caught win of a possible movie idea, which we thought was really good," said Scott, who played Emily Sullivan in the series. "I think Brad heard about it online the other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it." CBS gave "Jericho" a chance to wrap up the storyline in seven episodes ...

Jericho: Episode 2.7 "Patriots and Tyrants" Series Finale Recap

25 March 2008 4:50 PM, PDT | From buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news

jericho-s2e7.jpg" alt="Skeet Ulrich and Ashley Scott, Jericho" />Previously on jericho.aspx">Jericho: 28 episodes of rather entertaining television. Jennings and Rall, in conjunction with members of the Cheyenne government, executed a attack on the U.S. Mastermind John Smith now has the last bomb and is plotting to blow up Cheyenne. Jake Green and Robert Hawkins plan a road trip to stop this.

Tonight is the series finale of Jericho. For real this time. Much as you may hope, I doubt CBS will un-cancel it again. On the bright side, the Jericho team was smart enough to foresee this tragedy and so they filmed two different endings. As such, at least we'll be getting some closure instead of a cliffhanger.

Jake (jericho/profile/skeet-ulrich.aspx">Skeet Ulrich) and Hawkins (jericho/profile/lennie_james.aspx">Lennie James) pack up supplies, aka lots and lots of guns. Jake asks how they're gonna find the nuke,

The Diminishing Role of Women on 'Jericho'

19 March 2008 4:57 AM, PDT | From buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news

jericho-women.jpg" />jericho.aspx" >Jericho has never been a feminist show. Sure, Emily (jericho/profile/ashley-scott.aspx">Ashley Scott) had a few big action moments in the first season, but overall, this is a show about men taking back their town and fighting against tyrannical oppression. Jericho is about the rebirth of the Founding Fathers, and in keeping with that tradition, women are relegated to the status of Martha Washington and Betsy Ross.

This is not necessarily a criticism, just an observation. Clearly the action adventures of Jake Green (jericho/profile/skeet-ulrich.aspx">Skeet Ulrich) and Robert Hawkins (jericho/profile/lennie_james.aspx">Lennie James) are what drive the series.

Jericho: Episode 2.5 "Termination for Cause" Recap

Major Beck is called away to New Bern, where someone set off a pipe bomb at the J&R office. Beck orders no retribution against Goetz.

Dr. Kenchy is doing his best to save Mimi. Jake gives everyone guns to set up a protective border around the hospital. Kenchy hires Darcy as a nurse,
