Rodney Rowland was born in Newport Beach, California, the youngest of four children of a pastor and an aquatics athlete. Before he turned to acting he had a variety of model jobs for such brands as Calvin Klein, J. Crew and Perry Ellis. An immensely passionate actor, he prepares thoroughly for his roles. For an episode of "Space: Above and Beyond" (1995) ("Who Monitors the Birds?") he had to be hospitalized twice due to exhaustion.
