At 14, Pettiford starred in the chorus of the film, The Wiz, starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. She won a Tony nomination from her work on Broadway in the hit show Fosse. She also had a critically-acclaimed run in the musical Chicago in London opposite Chita Rivera.
