'Bones' cast takes us behind the scenes (and the belt buckle)

12 November 2009 11:18 AM, PST | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

Yes, it's November Sweeps, but we're already looking ahead to December episodes of Fox's Bones. The cast took photos for EW as they filmed the Dec. 3 hour, inspired by the gamer documentary The King of Kong, and Dec. 10's Christmas story, which David Boreanaz accurately describes as "a little sick." (A man dressed as Santa is blown up after a botched bank robbery. Note: This is also the episode that Emily Deschanel's sister Zooey guest stars as a distant relative of Brennan's invited to spend the holidays with Bones and her father. Welcome back, Ryan O'Neal.) Have yourself a merry little Christmas with the Deschanel sisters

2 November 2009 9:00 AM, PST | AfterEllen.com | See recent AfterEllen.com news »

Christmas is coming early for Bones fans — both literally and figuratively. The rumored Deschanel sister pairing is actually happening, in fact it has already been filmed for the show’s Christmas episode to air Dec. 10. This will mark the first time Emily and Zooey Deschanel will appear on screen together.

Zooey will appear as Margaret Whitesell, a distant relative to big sister Emily’s Dr. Temperance Brennan. According to Zap2It, Brennan’s father (Ryan O'Neal) invited Margaret to spend Christmas with him and Brennan in an episode titled “The Goop on the Girl.” In the episode, Booth and Brennan investigate the explosive death of a man in a Santa suit during a bank robbery. I hope for Zooey’s sake she isn’t the girl with said goop, because — you know — ewww.

Last week, series creator Hart Hanson tweeted about Zooey’s appearance saying: “The Deschanel sisters working it together! »

Billy Bob Thornton To Go Faster

28 October 2009 1:20 AM, PDT | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

Billy Bob Thornton will go up against Dwayne Johnson in the action thriller, Faster – a movie that became a lot more intriguing today, with the release of further plot details. In an act of ultra-stylisation that recalls the stark, pared-down style of Walter Hill’s The Driver, Johnson will play a character called, simply, Driver, who’s out to avenge the murder of his brother.Thornton will play a cop called, if you haven’t already guessed, Cop, who makes it his business to take Driver down and bring him in etc. etc.A third pivotal character – Killer, a hitman hunting down Driver – has yet to be cast.Of course, this could be a noir-ish conceit too far, but we rather like the metaphorical balls on display here. Certainly, all the signs are that Faster aims to move like a rocket, with no time for little things like characterisation and back story. »

Tatum O'Neal Moves To New Jersey

13 October 2009 9:46 AM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Tatum O'Neal was in the news recently with a completely icky, rather-not-think-about it story, about how her dad Ryan O'Neal approached her at Farrah Fawcett's funeral and, well, just read it yourself. But luckily she's still trying to be known as someone other than "the woman who got hit on by her own dad," signing up for a role in indie drama Sweet Lorraine. According to THR she'll play a former queen of the New York underground scene (underground music? underground rock? who knows) who moves to a small New Jersey town and gets involved in local politics. She's also got a part in the Kristen-Stewart-as-Joan-Jett movie The Runaways, which is news to me. O'Neal is known for being one of the youngest ever Oscar winners, snagging a trophy for Paper Moon at age 10, and her adult acting career hasn't exactly matched. An opportunity to turn things around? O'Neal's Son: 'Dad Broke Farrah's Arm In A Fight'

8 October 2009 3:01 PM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Ryan O'Neal's troubled son Griffin has taken aim at his father in a new U.S. tabloid expose, in which he accuses the actor of cheating on his late companion, Farrah Fawcett, and breaking her arm in a rage.

Griffin, who was banned from Fawcett's September funeral by his estranged father, insists O'Neal only stood by his on/off girlfriend as she battled cancer to make sure she didn't leave him out of her will.

The 44 year old tells the Globe, "I believe my dad's only goal was to make sure he'd be in Farrah's will.

"My father cheated and lied and was abusive to Farrah. She did not deserve that... He was an infidel."

And Griffin has come forward with claims his "violent" dad, who allegedly knocked out his son's two from teeth in a fight, once broke Fawcett's arm in a 1983 row.

Griffin adds, "My dad went into a rant. Farrah came flying at him to defend herself, he blocked her and, in the process, broke her arm.

"They spun the truth to protect Ryan (but) I was there, I saw it happen."

It's not the first time Griffin has gone public with outrageous claims against his father: Earlier this year, he alleged the actor and Fawcett's close friend Alana Stewart had become romantically involved during the last months of the actress' life.

He said, "They were sharing a room together."

Both Stewart and O'Neal dismissed his accusations. »

Late actress Farrah Fawcett's son Redmond O'Neal has opened up about his ongoing drug treatment - insisting he is doing "very well" in his bid to kick his addictions since his mother's death.

Redmond O'Neal moved from a California prison cell into a drug rehab facility on Thursday to continue his battle against addiction.

The 24-year-old son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett will spend a year undergoing intensive treatment at the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California, in a final bid to kick his drug habit once and for all.

He was sentenced to a year at the in-patient rehab and placed on three years of formal probation in Santa Clarita, California last week.

O'Neal's Lawyers Fight For Release

10 September 2009 5:11 AM, PDT | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Redmond O'Neal's lawyers are fighting to have the troubled star transferred from prison to a residential rehab centre, according to U.S. reports.

The 24-year-old son of Farrah Fawcett and actor Ryan O'Neal is serving time at a California detention centre, stemming from an April arrest for drug possession.

He is undergoing treatment while he is jail, but his legal team argues he would be better off at a dedicated facility on the outside and is reportedly asking the courts for O'Neal to be released three months early so he can get the help he needs.

A source tells Radar Online, "The goal is to permit transition to a non-custody regiment of recovery. Redmond is doing very well, but there is only so much that can be done in the treatment program behind bars."

O'Neal is due for release in December. »
