"Sex and the City" star Chris Noth is teaming up with the insurance industry to help give awareness to the importance of having adequate protection by getting a life insurance.
Noth will be the national spokesperson for Life Insurance Awareness Month (Liam), which is observed in September.
Growing up in a life insurance company, the 54-year-old actor may be the perfect person to front the campaign. His father and grandfather were both life insurance agents. His father died when Noth was just nine years old. Fortunately, his father had a life insurance plan and thus, his family was financially secured even after the tragedy.
He will be sharing his story in nationally broadcasted TV and radio public service announcements starting this July. His PSAs will also be available for streaming on Life's website during the September campaign.

Law & Order: SVU co-stars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni have finally ended their months-long contract dispute with TV bosses, after signing two-year deals to remain on the show.
The pair reportedly jeopardised their return to the hit series by demanding more money from network bosses.
Hargitay and Meloni allegedly asked for a share of the programme's profits from the NBC network, in addition to the $350,000 (£233,335) they earned per episode - a rare deal similar to ones TV bosses cut with Law & Order: Criminal Intent stars Vincent D'Onofrio and Chris Noth.
Reports last April suggested executives had threatened to dump the pair when their contracts expire in May if an agreement could not be reached - but they have now agreed a new two-year deal.
Law & Order: SVU marks its eleventh year on air in September.

We're one cast member away from seeing how Spider-Man fares in a true live-action world. Last December, we learned that Evan Rachel Wood would play Mary Jane in Julie Taymor's Broadway web fest. Now Playbill is reiterating this, plus they're adding another wonderful name to the mix: Alan Cumming. He is once again flitting around the world of geek fare by signing on to play Norman Osborn, known in other circles as the Green Goblin. (But no German accent this time.)
Now titled Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, the musical is supposed to be kicking off rehearsals this month. Yet while we now have the leading lady and villain, there's still no word on who will play Peter Parker. Taymor was trying to get Jim Sturgess for the part and have a whole Across the Universe reunion, but they're still not releasing whether it's him or someone else.

Chris Pine tried to go incognito for a 7-11 run near his home in La yesterday. He's been taking it easy with some downtime since his worldwide tour on behalf of Star Trek wrapped, but that will soon change when he begins his run in the play Farragut North on June 24 alongside Chris Noth and Olivia Thirlby. One person who probably won't be in the audience cheering him on is Audrina Patridge, since she's busy with a very public reconciliation with an ex. Pacific Coast News Online View 5 Photos ›

Before the actual episode hits the screen on Sunday, June 14, USA Network has given a clip of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" 8.08. Titled "The Glory That Was", it follows the murder of a foreign diplomat who leads a double life of adultery with an unexpected twist.
In the clip both Nichols and Wheeler interviewed the husband of the diplomat who keeps referring the victim as "my wife" instead of mentioning her name. Soon, Nichols and Wheeler find themselves on the world stage, untangling the dark politics behind the Olympic Site Selection Committee.
The eight season of "Law & Order: Ci" marks the exit of Chris Noth as Detective Mike Logan and the entrance of Jeff Goldblum as Detective Zach Nichols. The whole season will conclude on Sunday, August 9 along with USA's other show "In Plain Sight".

Chris Pine stayed connected with his Bluetooth while running errands around La yesterday, sadly not looking quite as hot as when he's shirtless. The actor's recently been linked to Audrina Patridge, a match that received Lc's seal of approval, but his personal life isn't the only thing he's focusing on. Soon he'll be hitting the stage with Chris Noth in the political play Farragut North, which may be the first step toward steering away from Captain Kirk. View 5 Photos › Fame

With Sex and the City 2 planning to go into production any time now, further updates have been released regarding the the sequel to last years big screen outing. Sarah Jessica Parker starred alongside Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Chris Noth as New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie.
Recently the actress spoke to press about next years sequel, and when questioned about rumours that Carrie will be pregnant she admitted to press that she still hadn't seen a script:
"Well, first of all, I really don’t know because I haven’t seen a script. I know an outline."
Of course, the press being the press, they -um- pressed her further:
"I know, I know. I can’t pretend anymore! I feel like you’re looking inside my soul. I won’t tell you."
43 year old Parker did contemplate the effect of the current economic crisis,

Chicago – In a relatively shocking announcement as a part of fall schedule upfronts this week, CBS actually pulled the trigger on “Without a Trace,” a show that had reportedly gotten too expensive for the network. There were rumors that they may do the same with “Cold Case,” but that show will return with on-the-bubble shows “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “Rules of Engagement” also being miraculously renewed and “Medium” being saved.
This Fall CBS adds the popular drama series Medium, starring Patricia Arquette, Fridays (9:00-10:00 Pm, Et/Pt), forming a hauntingly compatible two-hour block with Ghost Whisperer at 8:00 Pm.

You know, it struck me the other day that despite the overwhelming popularity in the UK of Sex And The City: The Movie, this site hasn't once reported on the progress of the sequel, due out in 2010. And while it may not be to everyone's tastes it's undeniable: Sex and the City sells!
Well, today I remedy that my friends, with plenty of updates for all you Manolo Blahnik lovers out there!
First up is casting updates. As I'm sure you're all aware, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will all be making a return for the sequel. Davis recently gave fans an update of sorts too, describing the film as:
"Very exciting and very different than the first one, which is the luxury of getting to do another one," she said. "We did the first one, and those were our pent-up things that we hadn’t finished in the show,

Brad Pitt will star in the next "Sex and the City" movie, if Mario Cantone gets his way. The actor - who plays Charlotte York Goldenblatt's gay friend Anthony Marentino - would love the Hollywood heartthrob to play his lover in the latest big-screen version of the hit U.S. TV show, but admits it's an unrealistic request.
He told In Touch Weekly magazine: "I've always said I wanted Brad Pitt to play my lover, but that's never going to happen because he's much better looking. Either him or Ashton Kutcher!"
Mario has played Anthony since the third series of the TV show, when he appeared as Charlotte's wedding planner.
Although Brad is unlikely to sign up, it was recently revealed Chris Noth will reprise his role as Mr. Big in the new film.

Written by Beau Willimon, Farragut North was recently nominated for two Outer Critics Circle Awards including Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play.

Fie Louis Leterrier, and all of the people behind the Clash of the Titans remake! I have to admit, Liam Neeson as Zeus and Ralph Fiennes as Hades tempted my curiosity, and now I can't help but see it. The Hollywood Reporter posts that Danny Huston is the next man of the Titans, and he will play Poseidon -- God of the Sea. Leterrier only knows how much this will mean for the actor, since this so-called remake is switching up the story left, right, and center. Maybe this time around, we'll see the old guy get sexy with Medusa. Whatever the case, this is one more big flick for Huston, and maybe one day we'll get some solid starring work, and a North American release for Fade to Black while we're at it. (What's Fade to Black? Why, it's the film where he stars as Orson Welles. A project that also boasts Paz Vega,
