''You're an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible. If you were my son I would be so proud of you.'' That's what "Dancing with the Stars" judge Len Goodman said to Aaron Carter at the end of last night's episode, ending the pop star's run on this season's championship. While Carter always seemed to be working slightly beneath his potential, he tended to play the role of whipping boy and the judges seemed to be extra hard on him. On balance, he was always a little underrated.
This week's episodes were wildly entertaining and saw Mya shake her way to the season's first perfect score. Carter always seemed like he could play spoiler, but now that he's gone, this competition is hers to lose. In fact, there isn't even really a viable challenger, as while Donny Osmond, Joanna Krupa and Kelly Osbourne are all excellent, they're totally the B team. »

Visibly upset about his elimination from "Dancing with the Stars," Aaron Carter let the waterworks flow as he reminisced about his experience on the show. It is hard for Aaron to comprehend that his journey has ended with partner Karina Smirnoff: "It's kind of like a cold feeling inside, but she's heating up for me, making it bearable...It's coming to an abrupt ending." Kelly Osbourne came over to console the distraught Aaron, embracing him in a hug. Aaron told "The Insider" that she whispered in his ear that he's "grown into a man in the competition." Kelly said of offering her shoulder to cry on, "People need to give him so much more credit than they have. I can imagine it can hurt your ego thinking that people aren't voting for you." Still very much contenders for the mirror ball trophy, Kelly and partner Louis van Amstel have »

Aaron Carter had a breakthrough like few others have had on Dancing with the Stars: He arrived a teen idol but left a man. "I grew up on the show," he told People after he was eliminated Tuesday night. "There were a lot of epiphany moments and I learned a lot from [pro partner Karina Smirnoff]." He likened Smirnoff’s support to the way his father encouraged him. "It was almost like my father a little bit because my dad ... taught me so many different things, but the way he did it, he only had to do it once," he says. "She did the same thing. When it came to learning something about me, she only had to say something one time." The couple bounced up and down the leaderboard, and their determination impressed the other dancers, as well as the judges, who praised his fox trot and samba Monday night. Even Len Goodman, »

From spoiled pop star to mature, respected dancer.
Aaron Carter came a long way on season nine of Dancing with the Stars - but he didn't go far enough to earn the crystal ball trophy.
Carter and Karina Smirnoff were eliminated from the competition this week, but the former reacted as humbly as one can. He said:
"One thing I will always remember and take from this competition is definitely the lessons that I've learned. I've grown so much with your compliments and your criticisms, so thank you. Thank you for helping me to be able to grow on this show."
Who knows what the future holds for Carter, but we can't remember anyone receiving more praise from Len Goodman upon his departure.
"I think the dedication that you have shown week after week is absolutely fantastic. I think you're an inspiration to all young people that anything is possible, »

We finally waved goodbye to Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff on Dancing With the Stars last night. Kelly Osbourne also found herself close to elimination last night, but was able to advance to the semi-finals, where she’ll compete against Mya, Donny Osmond, and Joanna Krupa. After the elimination, Aaron said, “I grew up on the show. There were a lot of epiphany moments and I learned a lot from [pro partner Karina Smirnoff]. (S09E17) Dancing with the Stars continues to chug along having five couples become four. With such a small number, the results shows feel even more stretched out, slowly saving contestants one at a time.
Encore - Joanna & Derek - Paso Doble - Len thought that even though Mya had the higher score, the paso was so detailed that it deserved the encore. The two actually looked better with their hair tonight than last night; I could tell that it was them. On the second time around, I believed that they deserved a 30 and Mya only should have gotten a 29.

It's the end of the line for Aaron Carter as he was voted off from "Dancing with the Stars" competition. On Tuesday, November 10, the pop singer and his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff, were announced to be the latest pair to be eliminated from the ABC's hit dancing competition.
After saving himself in a dance off against former football star Michael Irvin last week, the 21-year-old fell to the bottom two along with competitor Kelly Osbourne. Although he has shown steady improvement in his technique, the lowest combined total between his scores from the judges and viewers' votes sent him packing in the end.
Despite the elimination, the younger brother of Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter stayed positive. "One thing I will always remember and take from this competition is definitely the lessons that I've learned," he said after the cut-off. "I've grown so much with your compliments and your criticisms, »

One of the dancers of "Dancing with the Stars" this season has been extracted from the competition to leave four people in the semifinals. Taking the fall in the eighth week would be Aaron Carter and his partner Karina Smirnoff. Carter stumbled when he was required to dance the Foxtrot. He only managed to score 23 out of 30, the lowest number outed on the Monday night performance.
It was between Carter and Kelly Osbourne on the result night, but Osbourne had a slight win from the judge and apparently the audience. Saying goodbye to the competition, Carter said, "One thing that I will always remember from this competition is the lessons I've learned. I've grown some much with your compliments and your criticisms, so thank you. Thank you for helping me be able to grow on this show."
Those advancing to the semifinal round apart from Osbourne would be Joanna Krupa, »

Perfection paid off for Mya. As expected, the R&B songstress was voted into next week's semifinals on Dancing With the Stars. But which three of her fellow celebs were given passage to join her? As musical guest Susan Boyle knows, being the favorite doesn't necessarily mean you're going to go all the way. For instance, the fans have been loving Donny Osmond all season, but their last glimpse of him had him looking like a Rocky Horror Picture Show reject. Aaron Carter has smoothed over most of his initial kinks but had to dance for his life last week. Kelly Osbourne has regained her confidence, but do the voters still have faith in her moves? Meanwhile,... »

Singer Mya's Billboard-charting history in R&B, pop, and hip-hop now seems like required briefing ahead of her newest venture: dazzling the over-animated judges on Dancing with the Stars. As the highest-scoring competitor of Dwts's ninth season, Mya seems poised to win it all with her seemingly shirt-allergic partner Dmitry Chaplin. Her success against contestants like Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond may not be a surprise considering her past in choreographed music videos ("Case of the Ex," "My Love is Like Wo," and the Grammy-winning remake with Christina Aguilera, Lil Kim, and Pink, "Lady Marmalde" spring to mind), but she is nonetheless thrilling to watch. Mya talked with Movieline to recount the near-perfect scores she garnered on this week's samba and quickstep, the impact of Savion Glover and Gregory Hines on her life, and her most intimidating "Lady Marmalade" co-writher. »

Dream Come True: As Britain's Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle, whose first CD will be released Nov. 23, slowly made her entrance onto the Dancing with the Stars stage late Monday afternoon to pre-tape a performance, which will air on Tuesday's results show, the crowd burst into applause. Boyle looked elegant in a black sequined gown, her hair coiffed to perfection. Despite battling a case of pre-show nerves, Boyle was completely in her element once the orchestra began playing the opening notes of her signature song, "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables. Dancers Tony Dovolani and Chelsie Hightower performed an elegant routine to Boyle's spot-on vocals. But because of a wardrobe malfunction -- Dovolani's bowtie came unfastened from his tuxedo shirt -- they had to do a second take. Unbelievably, it was even better than the first. Under Pressure: Mya and Aaron Carter have performed to huge audiences in their lives, »

Sure, Mya and Dmitry Chaplin grabbed a perfect 30 with their '70s-themed samba on last night's Dancing With the Stars, but the singer says Donny Osmond was the real star of the night. "Donny and Kym Johnson rocked the house," Mya told me earlier this morning. "It was hilarious with Donny and his Jheri curl. He was like Michael Jackson, George Michael, Prince and Boy George all wrapped up in one." But Chaplin's mustache also made quite the impression. The eighth week of Dancing With The Stars saw the remaining couples attempting two individual dances: ballroom and an era-themed Latin routine. Mya and partner Dmitry Chaplin became the first couple to achieve a perfect score after impressing the judges with their '70s-style samba and topped the leaderboard after earning a further 29 points for their individual quickstep. Here's what the judges had to say: The Ballroom Round Mya and Dmitry Chaplin - Quickstep Len: "My priority is how you dance and it would appear your priority is the wow in the dance. For me, we got off to a sticky start week one and it went from bad to worse. And again tonight, I'm disappointed because I couldn't find anything to criticize!" (10) Bruno: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is quality! This quickstep was like vintage champagne, light, sparkling and full of flavor! (more) »

For weeks, Mya has endured critique after frustrating critique from judge Len Goodman on Dancing with the Stars. If he wasn't complaining about her routines lacking content, it was that they were too theatrical. But during Monday night's quarterfinal competition, Len said his only disappointment with with her routine was, "I couldn't find anything to criticize." The singer and her partner Dmitry Chaplin opened the show with a bang, nailing the quickstep and earning 29 points. Later in the show, the couple's '70s-style samba had all three judges gushing with praise. Carrie Ann Inaba called the performace "perfect." "On fire!" Len exclaimed. "Your hips were hypnotic." Bruno Tonioli did Len one better, bursting into song. All of the judges dusted off their number ten paddles, awarding the couple the season's first perfect score. But that's not to say the other four couples slacked off. In what was arguably the season's most exciting night of performances, »

The race for the mirror-ball trophy heated up on Monday night's "Dancing with the Stars" as the five remaining couples battled to land one of the four places in next week's semi-final round. In order to qualify, each of the couples had to perform both a ballroom dance and a Latin dance, which was set in a specific decade. Dancing first in the ballroom round were songstress Mya and her professional partner Dmitry Chaplin with the quickstep. Head judge Len Goodman teased them, saying, "My priority is how you dance. Your priority is the 'wow' factor. We got off with a sticky start with the Viennese Waltz on week one. I was a little disappointed tonight because I couldn't find anything to criticize!" Bruno Tonioli raved, "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is quality. This quickstep is like vintage champagne -- light, sparkling and full of flavor. After you taste it, nothing else will do. »
