Director Kevin Greutert Talks Saw VI!

9 June 2009 10:14 PM, PDT | From iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news

Director Kevin Greutert checked in from the editing bay via his official blog with a status update on Saw VI, due out in theaters this October 23rd! Here's what he had to say:

"I made (editor) Andrew (Coutts) take today off.  He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night with people as unhappy as the folks who live in Jigsaw’s World.  Andrew has focused on the last ten minutes of the film for over a week now, and to put it subtly, it’s noisy. Strangers from other companies along the hallway have been coming up to me and asking, “What the hell is going on in there?”  By the end of the night my mind is screaming,

‘Saw VI’ Director Describes Film’s Ending As ‘Mind-Numbingly Complex’

8 June 2009 10:00 AM, PDT | From MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news

Saw VI” director Kevin Greutert knows a thing or two about editing together the multiple character storylines and torture-prop shots from his franchise’s past installments, having done editing work on all of them. Tagged for a Fall 2009 release to bring back Tobin Bell’s sadistic villain Jigsaw — and possibly bring his successor Detective Hoffman into the spotlight — Greutert has high hopes for the movie in the scheme of the series, but his past editing experience with the films’ standard story format give his words some extra wait when he described what editor Andrew Coutts is currently going through.

“I made Andrew take today off,” Greutert wrote on his blog Sunday. “He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night

22 May 2009 12:15 AM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

Cinematographer David Armstrong has shed some lights on the potentially deadly traps to be seen in "Saw VI". To Bloody-Disgusting at a special press day in Toronto, Canada, the series' director of photography gushed that "the traps are visually stunning" before further describing on a couple of the traps.

"There is a Carousel Room. It's very carnival, playground-like. It's just nasty. [There are] spinning red lights in there. It's really overwhelming to walk in and look at because everything is spinning," Armstrong began explaining. "Also, there's one place called the Steam Room that's probably the best looking Saw trap of them all. It's big and expensive. It's got furnaces, fires and steam. It's multi-leveled. The most complex Saw. We had techno cranes flying through. It was pretty amazing."

The man who announced earlier that this movie will be his last gig in the series, in addition, shared more on the look of this sixth "Saw" film.
