Mini Biography

Born Christine McClure in Sydney, Australia, an actress, acting coach and now screenwriter. Her love for acting began at the age of twelve doing Shakespeare plays. Then in 1969, working as Elli Maclure, began a professional acting career starring in a television pilot for Screen Gems. In 1976 she made her first visit to the USA. After many years is now a dual citizen.

Elli acted in feature films and theater, also starred in television series, numerous guest appearances and pilots in her native Australia, the US and Europe. She's worked with directors John Cassavetes, Richard Donner, Francis Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, Mike Robe, Peter Weir, Simon Wincer, George Miller, Tim Burstall, Richard Franklin and John Power. Co-starred in an Italian feature with Claudia Cardinale, starred in a Spanish feature with Antonio Ferrandis.

After studying with John Lehne, known as one of the 'Twenty Master Teachers of America' and a member of The Actors Studio, in 1990 Christine began teaching 'Method for Young Actors' classes in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Students who have worked in feature films include Ashley Johnson with Mel Gibson in 'What Women Want', Josh Hartnett in 'Halloween 7' 'Suicide Virgins'. Other students have worked opposite Robert DeNiro, Robin Williams, Tom Cruise, Dan Akroyd, Julie Harris, Nicole Kidman, Susan Sarandon, George Clooney and actors of similar caliber. Students have received Best Actress and Actor Awards and Nominations in Hollywood's Young Artists Awards, Young Star and MTV Awards in feature films and television. Over the years twenty students acted in series regular roles, twenty eight have booked pilots and many guest appearances.

In 1999, the Los Angeles Film School opened its doors, Christine taught directors 'Working with Actors'. During this time directed her students in production of 'Hamlet' in which she acted the role of Gertrude, later moving on to play Gertrude at the Globe Theater, Los Angeles. Also directed a film and theater interactive piece 'Killing and Conscience'.

After a period in Australia, 2001 to 2006, where Christine acted again and taught at Nirimba TAFE College 'Acting for Camera. In 2003 a new phase of her career began as a screenwriter. Screenplays 'Rules of Silence', 'Lamentar' are presently being packaged, and has written a film adaptation of the novel 'The Tenant of Wildfell Hall'by Anne Bronte.
