Joliet, Il - Dan Aykroyd is on a mission from vodka. The Blues Brother is cruising around the country in a Damnation Alley Rv promoting his Crystal Skull premium vodka. He rolled into my town and I was compelled to see the man.
He was appearing at a liquor store on a Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. What sort of crowd could he draw? I showed up at 1 p.m. with my four month old designated driver. There was already 400 people in line. Another 300 people end up behind us. Luckily Dan’s traveling partner announced that even though Dan was schedule to leave at 4:30, he’d be signing his bottles until the last person went home happy.
Why not? Each bottle cost $50. I’ve been told that there’s only two types of vodka in the world: Good vodka and vodka that makes you go blind and piss blood. »

Actress Shirley Jones is reuniting on the small screen with her "Partridge Family" co-star and real-life stepson David Cassidy!
Shirley will guest star on ABC Family's "Ruby & The Rockits," where she'll play Ruby's not-so-nice grandmother. Jones, David's real-life stepmother, will portray his mother on the silver screen as well. The guest spot marks the first time that Shirley and David have shared the screen since filming "The Partridge Family" in the 1970s.

The Partridge Family was one of those cheesy 1970s sitcoms that was horribly predictable, sugary-sweet, and much of the plot revolved around David Cassidy's fluffy hair. And yet, I loved it, right down to the sappy song they played at the end of every episode.
If you, too, are a closet fan of The Partridge Family, here's your chance to catch a mini-reunion of the singing family. David Cassidy plays David Gallagher on the ABC Family show Ruby & The Rockits. Shirley Jones -- who played his mom on The Partridge Family -- will once again play that role on Ruby.
Ok, here's where things get complicated. In real life, Jones is Cassidy's stepmother. She's also mom to his co-star and brother Patrick Cassidy, who plays Patrick Gallagher on Ruby. Meanwhile, David's brother Shaun Cassidy serves as executive producer, and brother Ryan is the show's set decorator.

There will be a mini-partridge Family reunion on David Cassidy's new TV show - Shirley Jones will be playing his television mum again on Ruby & The Rockits.
It'll be a real-life family reunion as well because Jones is Cassidy's stepmother - and mum to his co-star and brother Patrick.
And there's more family connections on the new U.S. show - Shaun Cassidy serves as executive producer and brother Ryan is the programme's set decorator.

It's a mini-"Partridge Family" reunion when Shirley Jones once again plays real-life stepson David Cassidy's TV mom when she guest stars on "Ruby and the Rockits." In the "50 Ways to Heave Your Mother" episode of the ABC Family show, Shirley plays David and Patrick Cassidy's mother -- Patrick is her real-life son -- when she visits the boys and meets David's long-lost daughter for the first time. She insists that Ruby (Alexa Vega) call her Mrs. Gallagher instead of Grandma -- even as Ruby valiantly tries to win her affections. "Ruby and the Rockits" is a family affair as Shaun Cassidy serves as exec producer and brother Ryan is the set decorator. "50 Ways to Heave Your Mother" airs Tuesday, September 15 at 8:30 p.m. on ABC Family.

Playboy boss Hugh Hefner has scrapped plans to feature 75-year-old TV star Shirley Jones in his raunchy adult magazine - because the actress "wouldn't show enough" skin.
The former Partridge Family star's husband/manager Marty Ingels revealed in May he was pushing for his wife to disrobe in a tasteful pictorial.
But Jones admits her Playboy dreams were dashed because she refused to pose nude.
She tells the National Enquirer, "My children and friends said, 'Shirley, are you crazy? You're going to pose nude?' I replied, 'No, I'm not going to pose naked, but I am going to show the best parts of my body.' In the end, Hef (Hefner) didn't run it because I wouldn't show enough. But I had a great time and the pictures were fabulous." »

I think I love this: Shirley Jones will guest-star on ABC Family's Ruby & the Rockits, playing mother to David and Patrick Cassidy, her real-life stepson and son, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Shaun Cassidy, another of the actress' sons with the late actor Jack Cassidy, executive-produces the new comedy. He joked that Jones got the role the old-fashioned way.
"She slept with the producer," he tells TVGuide.com. "Although in her defense, I was two years old at the time and afraid of the dark."

Coraline - I loved the use of 3D in Coraline so I'm wondering how it will transfer to the flatter world of home entertainment: Will that tunnel into Other Mother be as beckoning? Would the transformative acrobatic sister act pay off quite so well? Even if they won't, the film's imaginative visuals and fun character play will pull you into its rewarding tale of a bored little girl suddenly fighting for her soul and her parent's lives in a fantasy world that's not quite like her own. Coraline's journey is often compared to Alice's trip through the looking glass or down the rabbit hole. Miyazaki's Spirited Away was also described that way. »

1970s teen idol David Cassidy returns to the small screen tonight with the premiere of ABC Family comedy Ruby and The Rockits. Cassidy, who rose to fame Shirley Jones's eldest Keith on The Partridge Family, will appear alongside brother Patrick on the show that was developed and written by, yes, another Cassidy - Shaun.
Ruby and The Rockits follows former teen idol Patrick Gallagher (Patrick) who has chosen to lead a quiet life with his wife and two sons. One day, however, his "normal" life is disrupted when his former band mate and brother David (David) shows up unexpectedly on his doorstep with his new-found teenage daughter in tow - Ruby. Suddenly, the Gallagher family's life is thrown upside down. The two used to be together in a synth-glam band called the Rockits in the 1980s.

Benjamin Bratt is looking forward to do some 'cleaning up' tonight when the second season of "The Cleaner" premieres on A&E. From sweeping the streets from any kind of addicts to assisting high profile individuals to do a recovery, Bratt's character William Banks will face one of his toughest challenges in the season opener.
In "Hello America", an old friend Michelle Durham seeks William's help to get her high-profile national news anchor husband Davis, clean. But the news anchor is a national spokesperson for recovery, so William has to be especially discrete in his methods. And the news anchor's wife has an illness that forces William to confront his own personal problems.
Michelle is portrayed by Jayne Brook while Davis is played by Gary Cole. But they are not the sole attractions for this season. The show brings back Whoopi Goldberg as William's sponsor for three episodes and lines up other prominent actors. »
