Actress Rachel Griffiths has welcomed her third child with husband Andrew Taylor.
The Australian star gave birth to a baby girl last week (ends21Jun09) and is ecstatic with the new addition to her brood.
Griffiths and Taylor are already parents to five-year-old son, Banjo Patrick, and Adelaide Rose, three.
But the news might not be welcomed by Griffiths pals - who insist the star is a much nicer person when she's pregnant.
She explained before the birth, "Apparently I'm really nice pregnant. The wardrobe department begged me never to have this baby. They said, 'We love you pregnant; you're so much nicer.' Maybe I'm less hormonal."

It's the stranges thing: We write a well crafted report on an actress being pregnant, and 6 to 8 months later comes the news that actress has given birth. Weird. In any case, People.com obviously never read our version of "Six Feet Under" star Rachel Griffiths' pregnancy announcement, evidenced by their lackadaisical coverage of her "delivery news." According to goldbricking tabloid columnist Blaine Zuckerman, Griffiths (who's 40 years-old....would it have taken that long to ...

Refashioning the return of the prodigal son, Beautiful Kate is a provocatively visual look at family, memory and sexuality. In her debut feature, Rachel Ward has adapted Newton Thornburg's 1982 novel, transporting this American story in time and place and transforming it into something uniquely Australian. A family wrested apart by death comes together to gather around its dying patriarch (Bryan Brown). Unwilling to face his family alone, successful writer Ned (Ben Mendelsohn) drags along his latest fling, Toni (a scene-stealing Maeve Dermody), to cushion the impact. Welcomed by his serene yet long-suffering sister, Sally (Rachel Griffiths), Ned is eventually...

In honor of Natasha Richardson, an older review of one of her finer roles, in a grossly underappreciated film. Indie-Brit (or perhaps, Indie-u.K.) is practically its own genre at this point. In recent years there have been a host of movies that, to one degree or another, feel like they belong together, and not just because of where they were filmed, or where they take place. Movies like: ‘The Full Monty’, ‘Lucky Break’, ‘Waking Ned Devine’, ‘Billy Elliot’, ‘Brassed Off’, and others serve to define the genre. These are movies that aren’t merely made in the same place (often by the same people), but they are saying largely the same thing, and are mainly made for the same audience. That seems like a genre to me. Another notable of the group, and in keeping with its fine tradition (if you think it’s fine, a tradition, or indeed

For many stars, Elton John's annual charitable Oscar party was the destination last night, and for others it was a stop along the way. Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, and Chace Crawford were just a handful of the beautiful people who stepped out to attend his 17th Oscar bash, which raised $4 million for AIDS by the end of the night. Kate Beckinsale had her husband Len as her date, while Ben Stiller ditched his Joaquin beard to chat up Ryan Seacrest. Elton took his turn at the piano to play "Benny and the Jets" for his guests and also shared a few words, saying, "People are going through tremendous hardship. In this time of hardship, we are going to raise as much money as we possibly can." Simon Cowell looked happy to have Terri Seymour back on his arm after their recent split, while Quincy Jones was especially proud of his date,

Elsewhere, Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth caught up with presenter Halle Berry to smile for the cameras, while Jake Gyllenhaal shared a moment with Reese Witherspoon. The fans let loose quite the screams when Kate Winslet, the star of the night, hit the red carpet with her Oscar in hand. The inaugural scholarship established in late actor Heath Ledger's name has been awarded to Australian performer Oliver Ackland.
The $10,000 (£7,000) fund, established by Ledger's ex-fiancee Michelle Williams and friends following his death last year, was given to Ackland at a party for Australian Oscar nominees at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont Hotel on Friday.
Ackland was hand-picked from a pool of 150 applicants by The Dark Knight star's pals and colleagues, including actress Rachel Griffiths.
In presenting the award, filmmaker Greg Jordan, who directed Ledger in Two Hands, told the crowd: "Rachel Griffiths said 'How do we judge this? Are we looking for the next Heath Ledger?'
"We all said 'No. There is no next Heath Ledger, but there's plenty of other people.'"
And for rising star Ackland, 29, the prize was especially meaningful - Ledger has always been one of his role models.
He said: "The fact that it is in his name means the world. I admired Heath and I admired the work that he chose, the path he created for himself. It shows a lot of integrity on his behalf."
Australian stars Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Hugh Jackman all contributed to the bursary, which includes flights to Los Angeles and introductions to agents and casting directors.
