His cartoons in "The New Yorker", "Playboy" and "The Village Voice", among others, have inspired cartoonists from Garry Trudeau to Berkeley Breathed, and his first strip, "Sick, Sick, Sick", gave a name to the "sick" comedy of such 1950s icons as Mike Nichols and Elaine May, the Second City troupe and Lenny Bruce. more
