I was handed this scrappy-looking DVD with a partial eyeroll and a shoulder shrug. Looking at the rinky-dink website with no salient journalism information (Photos? Runtime?) caused even less excitement. A sequel to 2007's "Caesar and Otto" (No? You haven't heard of it either?), Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre looked like it was going to be porn without the porn. Imagine my elation on discovering that writer/director/producer/star Dave Campfield is talented and well-versed in the language of film.
Despite the DVD cover and website doing the movie no favors, Caesar and Otto's Summer Camp Massacre is actually a funny broad comedy, with bigger appeal than the niche horror-comedy crowd it is being marketed to. It is directed and edited with such panache that I could see it appealing to many fans of the Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler ilk who wouldn't and don't »

Fango got ahold of an exclusive trailer and photo from Horrorween, actor/director Joe Estevez’s horror/comedy that, he tells us, is filled to the brim with genre cameos. The movie is about a newly wealthy Long Island family, their quest to build the best haunted house on the block and the murders that result.
“In directing Horrorween, horror has taken on a whole new meaning for me,” Estevez tells Fango. The sentiment is shared by the film’s producer, Ed Meyer, who insists the long-in-the-works feature will be something to behold. “This movie has taken on a life of its own,” he says. Keep your eyes here for further Horrorween updates.

Fangoria's Weekend Of Horrors just tore through the Chicago area this weekend, and while we'll be sharing news, photos, and video from the event all week, we've got an audio treat for you today courtesy of Fangoria Radio.
We've just uploaded a new batch of clips to the Fangoria Entertainment iTunes feed with all kinds of Weekend Of Horrors goodness.
Fango editor-in-chief Tony Timpone took a break from the Chicago event to call into the show on Friday night for a quick chat with Dee Snider, Debbie Rochon, Michael Gingold, and Mike Kostel in New York. Tony shared details on the first day of the 'con in the moments before Fashion Bomb and Mushroomhead took to the stage for our Shock*N*Roll Spooktacular. Caroline Williams may be best known as "Stretch" from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but to those in attendance at this weekend's event she was known as an »

Red is our favorite color here at Fangoria Radio, and tonight’s show (airing on Sirius Xm Stars satellite radio, Sirius channel 102/Xm channel 155, from 10 p.m.-1 a.m., with a repeat immediately after) is dedicated to those who have brought plenty of scarlet to the screen. Hosts Debbie Rochon and Fango editor Tony Timpone (sitting in for Dee Snider) have a bloody good lineup of guests on tap:
• John Gulager has wrapped up his creature-feature trilogy with the new-to-dvd Feast III: The Happy Finish (pictured); he’ll spill his guts about the splattery trio and where he’s going from here
• Four decades after ushering in a wet new strain of fright filmmaking with Blood Feast, Herschell Gordon Lewis is still keeping a (severed) hand in the business, and will let us know what he’s been up to
• Mike Elizalde, the man responsible for the prosthetics on Big Red (a. »

Our brothers and sisters over at TV Squad have busted through the boob tube and brought with them the following juicy bits of must-see eye candy:
A main character from Heroes is destined to die this season, but which one? There's a pretty cool behind the scenes video for AMC's upcoming remake of the classic sci-fi/spy series The Prisoner.
Mystery Science Theatre 3000 has four classic episodes just out on DVD and Nick gives us the lowdown on all of them. Was mankind meant to experience Joe Don Baker and Joe Estevez in such concentrated form? On a related note, MST3K fandom at large is fearing for the life of the show's host and head writer as he embarks upon an all bacon diet for an entire month. Conan O'Brien's band leader Max Weinberg will not be following Conan to Los Angeles when he takes over The Tonight Show next summer. »

Joe Estevez (brother of Martin Sheen and uncle of Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen) will be directing another indie horror film. Entitled Socio, the film follows an All-American high school senior and honors society president by day, sociopathic, cold-blooded serial killer by night; Roslyn Price has got it all: beauty, brains, and a body count that would make Ted Bundy blush. The tagline is pitched as "She's the picture of High School perfection.....and she's got a killer secret." Written by Jenna Delp, filming begins this April in Buda, Texas. Estevez recently got behind the camera for Horrorween 3D, which is still in post. »
