In today's issue of Entertainment Weekly, you can find a teaser image from Friday The 13th and our first peek at Derek Mears as Jason Voorhees!!! Judging from the image, it looks like we're getting pre-"zombie" Jason ala Friday The 13th 3 and 4! (Which I'm all for!) Check out the image below!

The new Friday The 13th directed by Marcus Nispel and written by Damian Shannon & Mark Swift (Freddy Vs Jason) stars Jared Padalecki (Supernatural), Derek Mears (Hills Have Eyes 2), Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Travis Van Winkle, Aaron Yoo, Adam Finberg, Nick Mennell (Rob Zombie's Halloween), Jonathan Sadowski, Nana Visitor, Arlen Escarpeta, Ryan Hansen, Richard Burgi, Julianna Guill and Willa Ford. It opens in theaters on Friday February 13th, 2009!

In the new issue of Entertainment Weekly they released the first ever image from Friday The 13th, which you can now find inside! Arriving in theaters February 13, 2009, the pic directed by Marcus Nispel is the retelling of the original Friday the 13th about teenaged summer camp counselors that are systematically slaughtered by a mysterious killer. Jason Voorhees will wear the mask and kill, keeping the famous setting of Crystal Lake. Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Jonathan Sadowski, Nana Visitor, Arlen Escarpeta, Ryan Hansen and Julianna Guill all star.

You recently wrapped production on your update of Friday the 13th, and horror buffs out there are dying to know: what's it going to be about?

It’s a reconception of the original. We’re introducing a whole group of new kids. What we always try to do is add a little bit of freshness to these movies that were really scary back then and update them for a new audience.

So are you following the same plot as the very first Friday the 13th?

It’s a little different. I don’t want to give it away because of the Internet crazies.

Today the official page for Platinum Dunes has been updated with a brand new blog and a new hi-res look at Jason Voorhees' mask from New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures' Friday the 13th, which hits theaters February 13, 2009. The remake will focus on Jason Voorhees -- who will wear the mask and kill -- and keep the famous setting of Crystal Lake (first picture of the sign here). Also, don't forget we still haven't seen Jason Voorhees' hood yet!! B-d Reader 'Bert H.' dropped us an e-mail, which we quickly confirmed, that Richard Burgi (Hostel: Part II, pictured inside) is heading out to Austin, Texas in the next couple days for a small role in Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13. Apparently he plays "a sheriff" in the remake, which is aiming for release on (you guessed it) Fridday, February 13, 2009. Directed by Marcus Nispel from a screenplay by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, the film stars Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Jonathan Sadowski, Nana Visitor, Arlen Escarpeta, Ryan Hansen and Julianna Guill.

Bloody-Disgusting learned exclusively this morning that Julianna Guill has joined the growing cast of Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th remake, which hits theaters February 13, 2009. She will join the previously announced cast of Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Jonathan Sadowski, Nana Visitor, Arlen Escarpeta, Ryan Hansen. Being directed by Marcus Nispel, the remake will focus on Jason Voorhees -- who will wear the mask and kill -- and keep the famous setting of Crystal Lake. The film is now shooting in Austin, Texas.

Ryan Hansen (Superhero Movie, "Veronica Mars") is set to star in New Line Cinema, MTV Films and Paramount Pictures' Friday the 13th, according to this blog. He joins Jared Padalecki, Derek Mears, Amanda Righetti, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo, Travis Van Winkle, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Jonathan Sadowski, Nana Visitor and Arlen Escarpeta in the Marcus Nispel directed remake, which will bring Jason Voorhees back to Camp Crystal lake for more mask murdering mayhem.
