Angus Deayton, a disgraced TV host who was fired from the long-running satirical news quiz Have I Got News for You last year following sensational tabloid revelations about his alleged relationship with prostitutes and drug use, is due to return to television next fall on a new BBC sitcom titled Nighty Night, written by and starring Julia Davis. Fans of Deayton had mounted a petition campaign on the Internet urging his return. Last May Deayton returned to Have I Got News for You as a guest and was royally roasted by the panelists. At one point he remarked: "There is no need to adjust your set. My face really is this red." The show drew enormous ratings.
