Elton John's Broadway musical Lestat, inspired by Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles, will close on Sunday after poor reviews and attendance. The $10 million show, which opened last month, has been savaged by critics and failed to attract big enough audiences. Despite the premature end, Lestat has been nominated for two Tony Awards: Carolee Carmello for featured actress and the second nod for costume design. The play is John's third Broadway musical, following his success with Aida and The Lion King. He has also contributed music to the current London ballet hit Billy Elliott.
