Put quite simply, it is my personal opinion that Brahms's four symphonies are the absolute pinnacle of symphonic music. Disagree with me if you like, but that's just me. That being said, I would be curious to know which of the four symphonies is your personal favorite. With luck, perhaps someone will actually find this thread, know who Brahms actually is, enjoy his symphonies, have an opinion, and not tolerate this as absolute jargon totally irrelevant to film. You never know.
The four symphonies:
Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68
Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73
Symphony No. 3 in F Major, Op. 90
Symphony No. 4 in E Minor, Op. 98
Personally mine is the first; mostly for the last and best movement紡bsolutely magnificent.
