In the spirit of Halloween '09, we're breaking out reviews (some new, some old) of some Fall Frights you may want to work into your monthly viewing.

Joy Ride passes one of the tests of a good thriller, which is that when the characters approach a closed room or mysterious package or, in this case, a car trunk within which a surprise is waiting, it's not easy to predict what the surprise will be. In this case, college student Lewis (Paul Walker), his ne'er-do-well brother Fuller (Steve Zahn) and Venna (Leelee Sobieski), a girl Lewis is sweet on, have been directed by a psychopath who's been stalking them to pull over and open the trunk of their car. What's inside won't be revealed here, but it's a nice twist that's both logical and provides a quiet little chill.

“I think I like eating what little kids eat,” Leelee told People at the season opening of the Metropolitan Opera on Monday in New York City.

Chowing down frequently on macaroni and cheese, Leelee, 27, says that she is preparing for the baby by doing two things: relaxing and eating lots of ice cream.

However, the Joan of Arc actress is unable to eat as much of the frosty treat as she used to.

“I eat less ice cream now than I did before because the baby takes up space,” she explained.

After announcing her engagement to fashion designer Adam Kimmel this past July, the Emmy-nominated actress says that while wedding planning has taken a backseat to baby planning, it has not been forgotten.

Blu-Ray Review: Odd ‘Night Train’ With Steve Zahn, Leelee Sobieski

Chicago – M. Brian King’s “Night Train,” starring Danny Glover, Steve Zahn, and Leelee Sobieski and now available on Blu-Ray and DVD, is one of the most anthology-esque films I’ve ever seen. It feels like an extended, unaired episode of a syndicated anthology show like “The Outer Limits” (remake, not original) or “Friday the 13th”. You’ll notice I didn’t compare it to “The Twilight Zone” or even “Amazing Stories”. It’s not that good.

Blu-Ray Rating: 2.0/5.0 “Night Train” is a B-movie in every way, from the “what if” set-up right down to the awful CGI shots of the exterior of the train (a baffling decision that deflates any attempt at realism of the piece every few minutes). It’s a 91-minute feature that could have crammed the same plot into a 44-minute TV episode (and probably ended up more effective from the editing).
