It may be a kinda late but the CW network is finally showing a little love to the fans of the ill-fated dramady, Valentine.
Valentine is a quirky drama that follows a group of mythological gods whose continued existence depends on their helping mortals to find true love. It stars Christine Lakin, Autumn Reeser, Robert Baker, Kristoffer Polaha, Greg Ellis, Jaime Murray, and Patrick Fabian.
The series debuted on October 5, 2008 as part of Media Rights Capital's deal with the CW network to lease the network's Sunday night timeslots.
The premiere of Valentine attracted just 1.1 million viewers and a 0.3/1 rating/share among adults 18-49. To put the numbers in perspective, CW’s little-watched Life is Wild drew 50% more viewers one year earlier.
The ratings for subsequent episodes were even worse and it wasn't long before production of the show was shut down. The series was then cancelled amidst »

Director: Pablo Proenza.
Writers: Pablo Proenza, and Matthew Reynolds.
An independent film from writer and director Pablo Proenza "Dark Mirror," is a light horror outing from first time production company Cut Glass Productions. Released in a limited fashion the film now finds itself with IFC Films Video on Demand feature. Offering the deconstruction of housewife Deborah (Lisa Vidal) at the hands of vengeful spirits "Dark Mirror," gently slaps the viewership to attention with a psychological journey through paranoid delusion and altered perspectives.
Conflicted housewife and aspiring careerist Deborah entertains thoughts of hidden doorways to further dimensions while emotionally breaking down in front of her young son and husband. Looking through glass skews the central character's look on reality while a mythos involving trapped spirits is offered with half-confidence. Adding murder, and suicide with psychological twists the reality is left to the viewer. Is Deborah paranoid or the victim of spiritual possession? »

Pablo Proenza’s Dark Mirror is a film that will feel rather familiar to genre fans; its central elements have been used often in horror history. But when done right, there’s nothing wrong with exploring concepts we all know and love, especially when they’re executed with an excellent actress and an all-around talented crew.
Scripted by Proenza and Matthew Reynolds, Dark Mirror (which debuted this week as an IFC Films video-on-demand title) follows Deborah Martin (Lisa Vidal), an out-of-work photographer and mother who moves with her family into a new home in sunny California. She has rejected a large number of houses that her husband Jim (David Chisum) has taken her to see, but this one prompts her to impulsively agree. The place proves, however, to have a dark past that begins to exert a sinister hold over Deborah and her perceptions. The goings-on appear connected with its glass and mirrors, »

Rating: 5 out of 10
I would like to thank first time director Mr. Proenza, from the bottom of my heart, for the scene in which the incredibly tasty Tammy (Christine Lakin) stands in her bikini, holding a pistol in her hand, and play acts a heist: cheers mate, here’s to you, won't forget it. Beyond that, and except for an excellent last 15 minutes, Dark Mirror is an unoriginal and not at all scary supernatural suspense involving:
1. Mirrors
2. An evil presence behind the aforesaid mirrors.
3. A newly moved in family, only one of whom sees the spooky stuff.
Photographer-by-trade Deborah (Lisa Vidal), husband (David Chisum) and son have moved into a new house to which Debs is strangely attracted. In the bathroom, she finds two opposing mirrors reflecting to infinity, and she shoots off »

I thought I was pretty mad when I heard that Footloose was becoming a new musical film. Oh no, that was nothing. Child's play, or rather, anger. It doesn't come close to the rage I feel now, which has made its way into my veins and numbed me to my fingers and toes.
There are some things you just don't touch, and one of them is Heathers.
The Hollywood Reporter posts that the man behind Reefer Madness: The Musical and Race to Witch Mountain, Andy Fickman, has teamed up with Reefer partner Kevin Murphy to bring Heathers: The Musical to the stage. It seems that they're currently working on the lyrics and book, and have the blessing of Daniel Waters, who has seen some of the readings. Yes, there have been readings, and to add insult to injury, the lovely Kristen Bell has been voicing Veronica Sawyer ... with Christian Campbell voicing Jd, »

The 80s classic Heathers is being turned into a musical! That movie pretty much launched the careers of Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. The producers behind Reefer Madness, Andy Fickman and Kevin Murphy, are developing the show and writing the lyrics. The composer of the failed Legally Blonde is also on board. Actors have been in doing readings this week, and Kristen Bell is being considered for the lead role. The three Heathers being considered are Wicked’s Jenna Leigh Green, Brokedown Cadillac singer Corri English, and Christine Lakin from CW’s Valentine. Writer of the original book Dan Waters... »

While Oscar was planning to hand out golden statues to the best films of the year, the 29th Annual Golden Rasberry (Razzie) Awards were being handed out to the year's worst. The big winner (or loser) this year was The Love Guru, which not only took home Worst Picture, but Worst Actor (for Mike Myers) and Worst Screenplay (Mike Myers and Graham Gordy). The Hottie and The Nottie nabbed two Razzies, with star Paris Hilton taking home honors in the Worst Actress category (for Hottie and the Nottie), as well as Worst Supporting Actress (in Repo: The Genetic Opera). Ms. Hilton also shared the spotlight with Christine Lakin or Joel David Moore for Worst Screen Couple.
Indiana Jones' return to the big screen garnered a whole bunch of negative reactions, and the film did little to impress the Razzie voters since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull »

The night before the Academy Awards, another ceremony served as a worthy prelude. No, not the Spirit Awards — that show is far too classy. This awards show selected the worst of the worst for a Golden Raspberry Award. The big “winner” was a familiar, um, face.
Paris Hilton tied the record for the most awards, scoring worst actress for The Hottie and the Nottie, worst supporting actress for Repo! The Genetic Opera and worst on-screen couple for her pairing with either Christine Lakin or Joel David Moore in Hottie.
Sadly, I missed Hilton’s tours de farce, but the Razzie Awards have my respect based on her fellow nominees for worst supporting actress:
Carmen Electra — Disaster Move and Meet the Spartans
Kim Kardashian — Disaster Movie
Jenny McCarthy — Witless Protection
Leelee Sobieski — 88 Minutes and In the Name of the King
I saw 88 Minutes. It took me a week to get the smell out of my clothes. »

Mike Myers and Paris Hilton have won three Razzie Awards. Mike's movie "The Love Guru," which he co-wrote and starred in, was 'honored' with Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, while Mike was named Worst Actor.
The organizer of the Razzies - which gives prizes to the worst films of the year and is the antithesis of the Oscars - John Wilson said: "This is one of those auteur-of-the-awful situations. Mike wouldn't collect his prizes. I think people are tired of him in general. He hasn't really made a good movie in quite some time."
Paris was named Worst Actress for her role in 'The Hottie and the Nottie' at the spoof awards - full title Golden Raspberry Awards.
The 28-year-old socialite was also given the Worst Supporting Actress prize for her part in "Repo! The Genetic Opera" and Worst Screen Couple for her pairing with either of her "The Hottie »

Every loser wins, as Eastenders' Nick Berry once trilled, and so it proved at last night's Razzies where The Love Guru walked away with three awards, including a richly-deserved worst picture gong. There were Razzie accolades for Paris Hilton too, who tied Eddie Murphy's Norbit record of three gongs. She won worst actress for The Hottie And The Nottie, worst supporting actress for Repo! The Genetic Opera, and worst screen couple for her pairing with either Hottie co-stars Christine Lakin or Joel David Moore. That's right, she was so bad the voters couldn't make their minds up.Forget the Kodak Theatre, the big story was emerging across town last night where The Love Guru dominated. As well as worst picture, Mike Myer's comedy picked up the worst actor Razzie for Myers' performance as the hapless guru. It also won worst screenplay for a script that, as once esteemed critic pointed out, »

Mike Myers, Uwe Boll, and Paris Hilton swept almost every award at the 2009 Razzie Awards, the ceremony recognizing the worst in movies.
The voters selected The Love Guru as the absolute worst movie of last year, beating out a particularly awful category including M. Night Shyamalan’s latest waste of time, The Happening. Myers also “won” for screenplay and actor.
Paris Hilton’s three Razzies tied for most individual awards with last year’s Eddie Murphy sweep.
Uwe Boll received the award for career achievement since he’s never made a good movie ever. He also picked up a Razzie for “Worst Director.”

Disaster Movie & Meet the Spartans (double nominee from the same writer-directors)
