Showtime Orders Live Nude Comedy

13 July 2009 7:11 PM, PDT | From MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news

Showtime has ordered up six episodes of Live Nude Comedy, a half-hour mish mash of standup comedy and modern-day burlesque.

According to Variety, Shannon Elizabeth will host the weekly midnight series, which premieres Thursday. The program positions itself as an old-school variety show with a 21st-century sensibility.

Typical format of Live Nude Comedy will open with an audience-participation sketch featuring Elizabeth, followed by each week's two comedians alternating with two dancers.

"Trying to present different ways of showcasing comedians -- that's really the focus of the show," Binkow said. "We just felt that mixing it with dancing and variety and keeping it moving at a fast pace is a better way to consume comedy than just your old-fashioned show against a brick wall."

Comedians Sam Tripoli and Ian Edwards will appear in the first episode, with upcoming comics to include Andy Dick and Whitney Cummings. Dakota Ferreiro and Tonya Kay will dance in the premiere.

Jessica Simpson’s Birthday Theme Revealed And Shannon Elizabeth Screaming In Today’s Twitter-Wood

10 July 2009 4:32 PM, PDT | From MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news

You may recall a little over a week ago when the Twitter-Wood feed and Emmy Rossum were left in suspense about the costume theme for Jessica Simpson’s birthday party. Well, luckily Ms. Rossum tweeted in to announce what she needs to wear for the Barbie & Ken-themed event today, putting that issue to rest.

Surely you’ve all been anxiously awaiting Tom Felton’s status, as well, since he has now arrived in New York for the “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” premiere. He was apparently honored by McDonald’s with a stack of nine McNugget meals (twitpic link included). Read all about that and Clive Barker’s favorite junk food below in the Twitter-Wood report for July 10; but first, as promised in the headline, here is a picture of Shannon Elizabeth screaming as she falls down Space Mountain. Enjoy!

Night Of The Demons - La Fango 2009 Panel!

30 April 2009 10:03 PM, PDT | From iconsoffright.com | See recent Icons of Fright news

One of the biggest highlights for the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors was the sneak peek first look at the upcoming Night Of The Demons remake, which took place on Saturday, April 18th. On stage to talk about the film was director/co-writer Adam Gierasch, (from left to right) producer Greg McKay, actresses Bobbi Sue Luther, Shannon Elizabeth, Tiffany Shepis and co-writer Jace Anderson. (Monica Keena [far left] eventually joined the group half way through the panel.

Gierasch kicked off the panel serious, by trying to explain that the movie is actually a film about battling personal demons. "Ok, it's not. It's a movie about f***ing demons, Ok?"

Everyone on stage then began talking a bit about the origins of the project, and their characters in the movie. Shannon Elizabeth couldn't remember the name of her character (Um, Angela? As in the lead of all the Night Of The Demons movies?), but

Tara Reid Gets Another Slice of 'American Pie'

11 April 2009 5:00 AM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

When you really stop to think about it, the American Pie movies have etched out pretty cruel legacies for a lot of its young cast members. Over the past decade, Seann William Scott and Alyson Hannigan have probably maintained the highest profile, and Mena Suvari and Jason Biggs work pretty consistently.

But Chris Klein is still stuck with being one of the worst actors of his generation, Shannon Elizabeth now plays poker on ESPN2, and there is, of course, the very sad story of Natasha Lyonne, who appears to have emerged out of a very dark period in her life.

As for the walking punchline of the American Pie set, Tara Reid, man, did it not have to be that way. She could have been a real breakout star, with this movie and The Big Lebowski in close proximity. But she got pretty heavily invested in being a star, and
