In 1961, he starred in an unsold comedy pilot called, "Oh Johnny" about the band leader of globe-trotting all-girl orchestra and the misadventures he falls prey to while chaperoning them.
Wrote the liner notes for Meg Myles' album "Meg Myles at the Living Room".
His one foray into movies was a brief appearance as himself in the Connie Francis picture, "Looking for Love" - his only film appearance, other than movies such as "Fargo" which have scenes in which a television set is turned on to the "Tonight Show."
In 1958 he replaced Tom Ewell in "The Tunnel of Love" on
Broadway.
