Fans of Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson will miss out on the chance to see her sing on stage - the star has ruled out embarking on a tour to promote her new album Anywhere I Lay My Head.
The Matchpoint star released her debut album last week, a collection of Tom Waits covers, but has no plans to follow up the Lp with any live dates.
Johansson, who recently admitted to suffering from stagefright, had been rumoured to be considering playing at a music festival this summer - but has now ruled any future gigs.
A spokesman for Johansson's record label Warner Music says, "It's purely a hobby for her. Now that she's engaged as well (to actor Ryan Reynolds) the opportunities seem to have become even more limited."

Scarlett Johansson and Deborah Harry have interviewed each other for a new MySpaceTV.com webchat.
As part of the site's new Artist to Artist segments, the actress-turned-singer and the singer-turned-actress talk about meeting their heroes and recording on water.
Blondie star Harry recalls meeting actor Robert De Niro and making a "complete chump" out of herself.
She says, "It was just awful... It just ruined it. It was bad."
And Johansson recalled sweating over a restaurant meeting with actor Peter Falk: "I couldn't not say something because I love him... I thought I've just gotta suck it up."
And, after complimenting Johansson on her album debut - a "great selection" of Tom Waits songs - Harry admits she admires the actress for recording the album "in a swamp".
She says, "Choosing to work down in The Bayou is, like, wow... I don't think I've ever done it quite like that; I've done some weird things, like, on houseboats on the Thames and things like that, places that are watery like that.
"It does a lot to the tuning... Great humidity really effects tonality."

Let's take a moment to set aside the months of mockery and premature backlash leading up to the release of Scarlett Johansson's first album—an 11-song collection dominated by Tom Waits covers—and cast it in a different light. Imagine Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio creating an avant-garde easy-listening tribute to Waits. Ambient soundscapes build slowly, adding and losing elements like tinkling bells, tinny drum machines, and twangy guitars. On those terms, the album has its problems—tracks like "I Don't Wanna Grow Up" sound like late-'80s dance music of the most disposable kind, and the sum effect is kind of sleepy—but it still plays as an interesting experiment. The biggest problem with Scarlett Johansson's debut is that it features Scarlett Johansson's singing. She isn't a traditionally talented vocalist, which in itself can be fine. (Waits wouldn't...

Scarlett Johansson has revealed that Tom Waits has yet to give his approval of her versions of his songs.
The actress said she is anxious to find out if Waits is happy with her covers album Anywhere I Lay My Head, which is released in the Us next week.
She told the New York Post: "When I was presented with the idea, the ultimate goal was to not get chased down by Tom Waits and get my ass beat in a bar.
"I've heard from people who are friends with . . .

Scarlett Johansson has announced her engagement to actor boyfriend Ryan Reynolds.
The couple has been dating since February 2007, shortly after Blade: Trinity star Reynolds broke off his engagement to singer Alanis Morissette.
The actress's representative Marcel Pariseau confirmed the news to People.com, revealing, "They're both thrilled." He added that no wedding date has been set.
Johansson, 23, and 31-year-old Reynolds will step out for the first time as husband-and-wife-to-be at New York's Metropolitan Museum Costime Institute Gala on Monday night (5May08).
Johansson famously keeps her private life under wraps, but previously dated actor Josh Hartnett from 2004 to 2006.
The media frenzy surrounding the impending nuptials comes at a great time for Johansson, who is promoting her new debut album of Tom Waits covers, entitled Anywhere I Lay My Head.

Scarlett Johansson hopes her new album of dark Tom Waits covers will give her critics pause for thought - because she's so much more than a "harlot" who looks good at film premieres.
The pretty actress can't understand why some people think she's just like the characters she plays in films or the roles she takes on in print ads.
And she thinks Waits' moody songs - and her interpretation of them - will give her a new edge.
She tells Spin magazine, "I have platinum blonde hair, and I'm extremely curvy: I pour myself into a dress and show up and strut my stuff at premieres.
"Of course I expect people will have certain ideas but it's weird if people associate the fact that I sell handbags or wear a bikini with who I am when I wake up in the morning.
"People think I'm going to be some brazen harlot, but I'm not out there with every Tom, Dick and Harry or catching hepatitis."

She's calling her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head – and it looks like Scarlett Johansson is taking a literal approach to her album art. Due May 20, the album features covers of alternative troubadour Tom Waits's music, plus one original composition. Johansson was joined in the studio by David Bowie, who lends guest vocals on "Falling Down" and "Fannin Street." Produced by TV on the Radio's David Sitek, the album marks the actress's recording debut. And Sitek does double duty. A label rep confirms he snapped the cover photo, taken in Louisiana, where they recorded the disc. – Brian Orloff Like this story?
