In a story from The Hollywood Reporter Terry Kinney has been cast in a recurring role on CBS' The Mentalist.
The actor is set to be in seven episodes of the Warner Bros. TV-produced series' second season. He will play Agent Sam Bosco, a normal looking police officer with a hidden amount of shrewdness.
Bosco will run the California Bureau of Investigation's Serial Crimes Unit. He is brought in to help solve the case of the Red John serial killer. His victims include the wife and daughter of Cbi's Patrick Jane (Simon Baker). Bosco's by-the-book approach is something Jane finds hard to work with.
Further complicating things is the fact that Bosco was Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) boss at one point. Apparently, something from the past hangs over their current relationship.

The Mentalist, starring Robin Tunney and Simon Baker, moves to Thursdays.
(This post has been updated.)
Rare is the season that leaves CBS with many holes to fill on its schedule. The Eye boasts a solid lineup built on a foundation of procedurals as well as a strong Monday night comedy stable. As such, the network’s selection of four series for fall — including an “NCIS” spinoff — seems relatively conservative in comparison to announcements from other networks.
The good news: “How I Met Your Mother” received official renewal, and “The Big Bang Theory” moves to the plum post- “Two and a Half Men” timeslot on Mondays. This season’s greatest success story, “The Mentalist,” shifts to Thursdays at 10, which proved to be a trouble spot for CBS.

After four seasons of jail, torture, stabbings, and death, Michael Scofield's saga has come to an end. Tonight's Prison Break series finale solved many of the drama's storylines and treated us to a montage of our "heroes" four years down the road. And then... While fans have all been expecting a big finish, few expected it would truly end this way.
Prison Break follows architect Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) whose half-brother Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) has been wrongly convicted of murder. To save his life, Michael concocts a detailed plan to have himself imprisoned and then to free both of them.
The show’s massive cast has included Amaury Nolasco, Robert Knepper, Wade Williams, Sarah Wayne Callies, William Fichtner, Paul Adelstein, Marshall Allman, Rockmond Dunbar, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, Robin Tunney, Stacy Keach, Leon Russom, Phillip Edward Van Lear, Peter Stormare, Muse Watson, and Patricia Wettig.
The Fox drama debuted to solid ratings in 2005 but,

Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) on The Mentalist may be one of television's smartest characters but it's going to take him quite awhile before he can solve the Red John case. The series' producer is saving that little tidbit until the series finale. And, what about a relationship between Patrick and Teresa?
The Mentalist premiered on CBS last Fall and emerged as one of the season's only breakout hits. The series revolves around an incredibly observant former conman (Baker) who helps the California Bureau of Investigation (Cbi) solve cases. Aside from Baker, the series features the talents of Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti, Gregory Itzin and Maxine Bahns.
The creative brains of The Mentalist have learned a few things from television history, particularly Moonlighting. Though lots of fans of the popular series wanted the main characters (played by Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd) to get together, once it happened many lost interest.

Retired action man Arnold Schwarzenegger delivered bad news to actress Robin Tunney after the two paired up in End Of Days - in the form of a psychic reading. Tunney reveals the Terminator star paid for her to see a top medium as a wrap gift at the end of filming - and the actress got nothing but bad news from the exchange.
She explains, "She told me four of five things that did come true, and she wasn't necessarily delivering good news... I was a little too scared to ever visit another one (psychic)."

This “labor of love,” as writer-director Mia Goldman describes her feature debut on the commentary track she shares with her “key collaborators” (producers, cinematographer, editor), is intended as a counter to the onslaught of cinematic violence that typically assaults us and yet “divorces us from an experience of a violent act.” It’s also based on her own understanding as a woman who was stalked, raped, and now lives with the aftermath of that experience, which is perhaps why it avoids all the overblown histrionics of other similar films that have dealt with such subject matter -- see the output of the Lifetime cable network, for instance -- and finds the quiet but difficult core of the act of will that is survival and recovery. When photographer Izzy (Robin Tunney: TV’s Prison Break; Goldman tailored the role for her) is raped in her own home by a stranger who’d stalked her,

Last night at the People's Choice Awards the fans picked Adam, Reese, Robin, Carrie, Ellen, The Dark Knight and more. The stars thanked the fans since if it wasn't for them, well, they wouldn't have that heavy award. Ellen thanked her roommate Portia, and Reese was thrilled with how her year was starting. Dakota Fanning continues to glow as she grows so perfectly. Kate Hudson was late but she made it in time to pick up her Favorite Leading Lady Award and in her quirky speech she thanked birthday boy Ryder. Unfortunately big winners like Brad and Angelina skipped the show and somehow Two and a Half Men still wins stuff. The big winner of the night was The Dark Knight with 5 out of 5 including favorite action movie, cast and movie! Christian Bale kept the facial hair growing but his acceptance speech was short and sweet with his costar Heath top of mind.

It was all about the ladies on the red carpet at last night's People's Choice Awards in La. Queen Latifah sparkled in purple as the host of the show, yet again, while Debra Messing kept it a little more geometric. Paris Hilton was a nominee this time around for her first presidential video, though she lost in the online sensation category to Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog. Dakota Fanning stood out in her blue one shoulder dress, once again looking perfectly pretty and age appropriate among her older counterparts. She is quite the little lady these days. Some of the bigger names skipped the red carpet and still graced the stage to accept awards, more on that in a bit. Until then, check out the winners here and be sure to vote on all of Fab and Bella's love it or hate it polls to kick off the 2009 award season. To
