Things to know about at this week: the first Clash of the Titans teaser, Steve Guttenberg still hanging onto his 80's glory, toy movies are still wanted, and the fantastic piece of news that is the death of the Oldboy remake. What's that? That's right. Read along.
The Good
• A very good poster for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was posted on the Mad Hatter's official Facebook page. Two more are coming, presumably on the Red Queen and White Queen pages.
• A selection of props from Duncan Jones' Moon are up for auction on eBay, including Gerty himself! It's the actual full-size thing, measuring 83” x 33” x 27.5" and even signed by the director himself. As of writing it's still bidding at £1,000, so totally affordable if you're a collector.
• After being impressed by the new trailer for The Wolfman that was released a couple of weeks back, now I'm even more impressed by the posters. »

Steve Guttenberg is claiming he’s set to reunite with Ted Danson and Tom Selleck for 3 Men and a Bride, the potentially third movie in the 3 Men in a Baby series.
The 51-year-old actor’s last big movie was probably 3 Men and a Little Lady in 1990, so prepare your giant grain of salt. Guttenberg told the WENN that “Disney is developing” this and “they’re bringing everybody back.” He also predicted it will be a “smash hit,” as if audiences are combing their VHS collections and wondering what happen to little Mary Bennington.
Guttenberg didn’t offer any additional details, but presumably the story would pick back up with the three bachelors attending Mary’s wedding for a father(s) of the bride moment.
What about the other 80’s hits? Guttenberg has you covered. He wants to return to the Police Academy, make another Cocoon, and he’d like a »

Production on The Tourist is set to begin early next year. The players within that production seems to be changing daily. Three weeks ago, Charlize Theron departed the project and moved on to greener pastures, allowing Angelina Jolie to step into her place. Even further back, Tom Cruise was set to play the lead role in the film -- an everyman who is roped in by an Interpol agent to become bait for a former lover -- but had since been replaced by Sam Worthington. Heck, even director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck was a replacement for Bharat Nalluri, who was attached with Cruise. Today, we get to throw most (but not all) of that out the window, as several other changes have been made. According to THR, von Donnersmarck and Sam Worthington are out, and two major players are in. In negotiations to star alongside Angelina Jolie is Johnny Depp, who »

We are now in the age of the 20-year-old sequel. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wall Street 2, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Beverly Hills Hop 4, The Untouchables: Capone Rising. It hasn't been "too long," it isn't awkward to go back. It'll make you feel young again! Now we've reached the pinnacle of past grabs, as WENN is reporting that Steve Guttenberg, Tom Selleck, and Ted Danson are reuniting for Three Men and a Bride.
"Disney's developing Three Men and a Bride. That's going to be a smash. A smash hit. They're bringing everybody back for that," says Guttenberg. "Nobody knows about it. I'm the first to talk about it."
Guttenberg might just become king of the It's Never To Late To Return! movement, as he dreams of reviving all of his past franchises. "It's definitely time for another Police Academy. And I think they could make another Cocoon. »

It's been a long time coming for Steve Guttenberg, or "The Gutt" to his friends. Not surprisingly, Guttenberg is currently in New York working on his next movie. Alright, so that might be surprising. We haven't seen anything Guttenbergian of note since the stellar 1997 family aquatics comedy Zeus and Roxanne. But that is about to change. According to WENN, who interviewed Guttenberg on the set of his next film, Disney is developing another sequel to the 80s hit Three Men and a Baby. He also revealed that it will follow the sequel Three Men and a Little Lady by finding the three guys -- played by Guttenberg, Tom Selleck and Ted Danson -- giving away baby Mary on her wedding day in Three Men and a Bride. Think Fathers of the Bride. After dropping this little bomb, Guttenberg also reached back and talked about bringing back both Police Academy and Cocoon, the »

You know what this world needs? More Steve Guttenberg. It's not like we have enough bad movies each year. We need to reach for that level only Mahoney can deliver. But how can you bring back someone who hasn't be relevant since the 1980s? I know! Make sequels to former film franchises that were bad to begin with! Fortunately, only one person on Earth thinks this way, and that's Steve Guttenberg. But that's not stopping him from talking about it. In an interview with WENN, Guttenberg revealed that Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and himself are getting the ol' band back together for... 3 Men and A Bride, a sequel to 1990's 3 Men and a Little Lady. Now, I know what you're thinking - finally, we can get some closure. But while that bad idea is apparently in motion (thanks Disney!), the man is not satisfied with a simple one-pic comeback. No, »

Oh Steve Guttenberg... how I want to believe you. It seems that every time the man gets in front of a reporter, blogger or media type person, he can't help but regale them with stories about how his career is about to undergo a massive resurgence. In the past he's talked about another Police Academy sequel (that's part 8, for those keeping count), and he's also hinted at another possible sequel to Three Men and a Baby, with Ted Danson, Tom Selleck, and himself reteaming for another blockbuster comedy. But is there any chance this is true, or is it merely a figment of his imagination? According to WENN [1], Guttenberg is now convinced that Three Men and a Bride is actually happening. Little baby Mary is all grown up now, and Danson, Selleck and Guttenberg will be the ones to give her away at the ceremony. No, seriously. "Disney's developing Three Men and a Bride. »

Whatever they call the final film it’s bound to be better than mine…
But hopefully you’ll gather from the title that the 80s has spat out another sequel as the dark forces of Steve Guttenberg, Tom Selleck and Ted Danson converge once again for another Three Men and a… film.
It’s been twenty long years since we last saw Messrs Guttenberg, Selleck and Danson as the lovable commitment phobic men and their Little Lady, itself a sequel to the zeitgeist riding Three Men and a Baby, and though they are usually forgotten in the tidal wave of nostalgia they are pretty sweet, well written films. And I’m all for a revisiting instead of a remake, particularly as we’ve not seen the three amigos for quite some time and they did have a certain chemistry that could make for a watchable sequel.
Not much else is known, »

Whatever was old is apparently new again as Disney will reunite the cast of Three Men and a Baby for Three Men and a Bride.
“Disney’s developing Three Men and a Bride,” said original star Steve Guttenberg. “That’s going to be a smash. A smash hit. They’re bringing everybody back for that. Nobody knows about it. I’m the first to talk about it.”
1987’s Three Men and a Baby starred Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg as bachelor friends forced to raise a baby together after she is left on their doorstep by a desperate mother. The trio reunited three years later for Three Men and a Little Lady.
For Guttenberg, he hopes that studio interest in ’80s films don’t end at Three Men.
“It’s definitely time for another Police Academy. And I think they could make another Cocoon,” says the 51-year-old. “They »

Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and Steve Guttenberg are reuniting for a new Three Men And A Baby sequel - nearly 20 years after the last installment.
The trio played bachelor pals forced to raise a baby together after she's left on their doorstep by desperate mum Nancy Travis in the 1987 original.
The reteamed three years later for the follow up, Three Men and a Little Lady.
Now, 19 years later, studio bosses at Disney are planning to reunite the trio for their movie daughter's wedding.
Breaking the news to WENN, an excited Guttenberg says, "Disney's developing Three Men and a Bride. That's going to be a smash. A smash hit. They're bringing everybody back for that.
“Nobody knows about it. I'm the first to talk about it.”
And Guttenberg's not settling for just one sequel - he wants to bring back all the franchises that helped him find fame in the 1980s.
He adds, "It's definitely time for another Police Academy. And I think they could make another Cocoon.
"They're surefire hits and I think they're good for the world. They make the world a better place and that's what it's all about." »

Twenty years later, the men are still having trouble with the baby, except this time she's a grown ass woman getting married. In case you don't remember Three Men And A Baby, or if you were too young to experience this plethora of chest hair, I'll recap for you. The story goes that three friends (Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, and Tom Selleck) experience the joy of raising a baby girl after she is left on the doorstep by her Mother (Nancy Travis). After the trailer for Matt Damon's Green Zone premiered on the Web yesterday, packaged to resemble the next installment of the Bourne franchise, initial feedback to our PopWatch post about it was generally enthusiastic. However, there is also a vocal faction that seems to resent films that have a self-critical political point of view and the actors who espouse them. "This is basically Damon goes to fantasy Iraq and spews his conspiracy theories. Not interested," wrote one commenter. "Wow…yet another 'Blame America' movie from a bunch of actors…none of whom would ever pick up a gun in real life to defend it, »

From Robocop to Terminator to Saturn 3, robots have had some bad press in sci-fi movies--particularly when given guns and assigned military roles. But that's all fiction. Here are two early prototypes of military bots that are really scary.
Little Dog
The first is a new version of Boston Dynamics astonishing, if incredibly loud, Big Dog robot. The original big beast is designed to be a semi-autonomous pack-horse to assist the soldier in the field--it can trot across almost any terrain, tackling the difficult surface conditions automatically. It even resists being kicked off-course.
The miniature version, dubbed Little Dog, is still an early prototype but is already capable of autonomously working out how to navigate obstacles and incorporating some artificial intelligence to enable it to proceed to its destination. When the design is finalized, it will be a lot more clever, and a lot more useful. Think of its potential »

Remember the early 90s commercials from At&T that asked various technology questions and then ended with Tom Selleck saying "You Will?" Someone on YouTube has put a montage of the ads and it's interesting that so many of these tech predictions/plans have actually come true.
I don't know how many people open their doors with their voice, but most of the other tech stuff has come true in one way or another.

Arianna Huffington has already appeared on television in several incarnations: panelist, game show guest (Hollywood Squares), parodied political figure (Saturday Night Live), and voice actor (The Cleveland Show), and now her life will be used as the inspiration for a new Friends-like sitcom that the pundit will executive produce. I see the character as a spotlight hungry cross between Monica and Phoebe, who finds brief but bisexuality-interrupted love with a millionaire, played by Tom Selleck. »

Tom Selleck has won a lawsuit in which he complained that he was sold a lame horse. The Friends star was awarded more than $$187,000 (£114,000) after a Californian jury agreed that he had been tricked into buying the animal, the BBC reports. Selleck argued that seller Dolores Cuenca had tried to pass off a show horse with a medical condition as fit to ride in competitions. However, the defence said that (more) »

Actor Tom Selleck has been awarded more than $187,000 (£114,000) after a jury in California found he had been duped into purchasing a lame horse.
The Magnum Pi star went to court over claims Dolores Cuenca sold him a show horse with a medical condition, passing the animal off as fit for his 20-year-old daughter Hannah to ride in amateur competitions.
The jury in the civil case ruled in Selleck's favour on Thursday, awarding him a lump sum to cover the purchase price of the $120,000 (£73,000) horse, named Zorro, and additional boarding costs.
A second hearing will begin on Tuesday to determine how much Selleck should be paid in damages.
Selleck's attorney, George Knopfler, says, "We are pleased with the jury's verdict and we look forward to the proceedings on Tuesday." »

Robert Luketic, director of Legally Blonde, 21 and the recent Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler rom-com The Ugly Truth, has signed on helm a remake of sci-fi action-adventure Barbarella. Joe Gazzam has been tapped to write the screenplay centering on the character that was immortalized by Jane Fonda in the 1968 original. Gazzam is also penning Riot, a John Carpenter thriller that Nicolas Cage is attached to star in. Barbarella centers on a female mercenary who roams the universe of a distant future, undertaking missions that require fearlessness, ingenuity and sensuality. The character debuted in 1962 in a French graphic magazine written and illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest and was known for her sexual escapades. Robert Rodriguez previously tried to get the remake off the ground, which was then set up at Universal, in May 2007 with an eye to making it a vehicle for Rose McGowan. Writing partners Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who »

NBC, Universal Media Studios and Steve Carell's Carousel Television have signed House creator-executive producer David Shore to shepherd a remake of the classic 1974-80 crime drama The Rockford Files. Rockford, which earned the Emmy for drama series in 1978, starred James Garner as the title character, an ex-con private eye who lived in a trailer in Malibu. The series proved to be a training ground for a number of future TV heavyweights, including scribes David Chase (The Sopranos) and Chas. Floyd Johnson (Magnum P.I.) and actor Tom Selleck. Shore's just starting to think about an approach to bring The Rockford Files into the present day, but he intends to stick with the basic foundation of a private eye in L.A. just trying to make a living. The idea for a Rockford revival came from Carousel, which inquired about the rights to the Universal TV property after Carousel cut »

Jacob at FoodNetworkAddict.com has come up with five good reasons why he thinks Melissa Darabian will win The Next Food Network Star when the competition wraps next Sunday. His points are well thought out, especially the one that suggests that Melissa's journey on the show has been dramatically edited to make her seem like an underdog who has now emerged as a dynamic player. However, I'm banking on Jeffrey Saad to win. Here's my five reasons:
1. The likability factor
Since the opening episode, there hasn't been a more attractive and likable competitor on The Next Food Network Star. Jeffrey makes viewers feel comfortable, like a Tom Selleck or James Garner, and when you're talking about TV personalities, that's the most important asset. Jeffrey would be welcomed on TVs in living rooms -- and kitchens -- around the country. »
