Anthony Hopkins To Go Fishing As Hemingway

4 November 2009 10:34 PM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

It's amazing that there haven't been more films made about the life of Ernest Hemingway. Unfortunately, the lone representation of him on screen is In Love and War. Yes, that movie with Chris O'Donnell. Snore. The guy lived such a full and eventful life, you'd imagine that Hollywood would have tapped the Hemingway well long ago. The next adaptation of the man's life is already shaping up to be superior to O'Donnell's opus. According to Variety, Anthony Hopkins has signed on to play the bearded writer in Andy Garcia's Hemingway and Fuentes, a film that will focus on the writer's time in Cuba with his good friend, Gregorio Fuentes. There he met and fell in love with an Italian girl who inspired him to write The Old Man and The Sea. Annette Bening has also signed on to play Hemingway's third wife, Mary Welsh Hemingway. A "Stunning Revelation" to Come on NCIS: Los Angeles

14 October 2009 5:29 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

So far NCIS: Los Angeles has focused heavily on the backstory of Chris O'Donnell's G. Cullen.

While this character will remain prominent through the fall, executive producer Shane Brennan teases to TV Guide that developments for Kensi and Sam are on the way.

"If Callen is a mystery, then Sam is an intrigue," Brennan said. "There is one stunning revelation about Sam Hanna that the audience will go, 'I did not see that coming.' It's amazing. I won't tell you when it's coming, but it will arrive with some impact."

Things I don't get about NCIS: Los Angeles

12 October 2009 12:05 PM, PDT | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

I love military style series. I haven't missed one episode of Jag or its spin-off NCIS over the years -- I even watched reruns, including airings dubbed in French! -- and have watched all NCIS: Los Angeles since it began.

What I like most about NCIS: La is that they do undercover missions, taking different personae and using gadgets, and that it stars one of my movie crushes when I was a teen, Chris O'Donnell, as well as the talented Linda Hunt.

Sadly, there are small things that I don't get about the series. These small issues are sort of bugging me and making me not enjoy the show as much as I would like as I keep asking myself these questions every episode.

Do you share the same issues? Do you have answers for me so I can enjoy the show as I want to? The list of things »

Oh My Grey’s! The Top 10 Moments of Grey’s Anatomy

25 September 2009 5:59 AM, PDT | People.com - TV Watch | See recent People.com - TV Watch news »

Grey's Anatomy kicked off season 6 with a two-hour episode that picked up where the finale's cliffhanger left off. In between the crying fits (which came fast and furious for 120 minutes), we compiled the top 10 Omg (as in 'Oh My Grey's') moments as the doctors of Seattle Grace tried to survive losing one of their own. --Carrie Bell Audacity of Hope: For a brief moment, George fans wondered if a goodbye was necessary when Lexie claimed the body was too tall and the others questioned Meredith's finger-writing interpretation skills. But Callie checked for his Texas-shaped freckle and confirmed the end of 007. Unless, of course, Izzie starts hallucinating again. (We bet George would be up for some ghost sex.) Chris O'Donnell and Michael Fasbender in the Irish side of upcoming TV and DVDs (IrishCentral)

25 September 2009 2:45 AM, PDT | IrishCentral | See recent IrishCentral news »

On the Irish DVD front, look for the acclaimed indy horror flick “I Sell the Dead.” Written and directed by Dubliner Glenn McQuaid and starring Ron Perlman and Dominic Monaghan, the film played in art houses over the summer and earned impressive reviews. On the Hollywood DVD front, Irish actor Michael Fassbender was among the stars of Quentin Tarantino’s kill-Nazis film “Inglourious Basterds.” (“Centurion” and “Jonah Hex” are two of Fassbender’s upcoming projects.) British actor Steve Coogan (whose parents were Irish immigrants) has been in films such as “Tropic Thunder” and the “Night at the Museum” films. But he became famous for his work on the BBC, which has just released a 14-disc set of Coogan sketches, including his famous creations “Alan Partridge” and “Tony Ferrino.” Finally, the new TV season will see the return of Irish-American small-screen veterans Ed O’Neill and Chris O’Donnell. 'NCIS: Los Angeles': Loving Chris O'Donnell's Callen (and the buttkicking)

23 September 2009 10:23 AM, PDT | EW.com - PopWatch | See recent EW.com - PopWatch news »

The first time NCIS/NCIS: Los Angeles mastermind Shane Brennan told me that Chris O'Donnell's character, NCIS Special Agent G. Callen, a man born to go undercover, didn't know what the "G" stands for, that he has no idea who is family is, I gasped. Yes, I'm slightly excitable, but that's the kind of character development you're hoping for on the spin-off if there's any hope of it matching the quality of the original. (It's holding up its end of the bargain in the ratings, at least: According to overnight ratings, it held on to roughly 90 percent of NCIS' audience, which was a series high for that seven-year-old drama). Maybe Chris O'Donnell didn't seem like the obvious choice to play this guy, but his casting could turn out to be brilliant: There's a stoic, blank-slate quality about the actor that allows you to believe he could fly under the »
