Hugh Grant's beloved film favourite Four Weddings And A Funeral has topped a new internet poll to find the best British movie of all time.
The 1994 film, which launched Grant's Hollywood career, topped the poll, closely followed by Monty Python's religious satire Life Of Brian.
The romantic comedy saw off competition from cult favourites such as Trainspotting and the Bond blockbuster Casino Royale, which were awarded third and fourth places respectively.
The top five was rounded out by Guy Ritchie's gangster directorial debut film Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.
Also in the film poll, conducted by Virgin Media, Sir Anthony Hopkins shared the title of Britain's favourite actor with Sir Sean Connery and Dame Judi Dench was given the gong for best actress.

Elizabeth Hurley is convinced she would be a mother of five if she had continued her romance with Hugh Grant - because the pair met when they were just 21.
Hurley, 43, and Grant, 47, dated for 13 years before parting ways in 2000 - but the pair remain close friends and confidants to this day.
And the pals even joke they would now be parents to an enormous brood if they hadn't chosen to end their relationship.
Hurley tells the July issue of America's Harper's Bazaar magazine, "Sometimes Hugh and I can get morbid and say we could have had five children by now because we were together since we were 21.
"There was never a time when either of us wanted it."
But the Bedazzled star, who has been married to Indian businessman Arun Nayar for a year, insists she would like to see Grant finally settled down.
She adds: "Women flock to Hugh. He's like Austin Powers. Everyone worships him."

Actors Kevin Spacey, Kate Beckinsale and Hugh Grant helped to raise more than $4 million (GBP2 million) for cancer research, after attending a charity auction in London on Saturday.
U2 frontman Bono, Pirates of the Caribbean hunk Orlando Bloom and his model girlfriend Miranda Kerr were also in attendance at the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Gala, which was held in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace - the former home of British royal King Henry VIII.
Philanthropist Bono made a surprise appearance on stage hailing the work of the organisation, before making way for Notting Hill star Grant to begin the auction.
And Grant showed his generous side by bidding $250,000 (GBP125,000) for a chance to have dinner with the former president of the Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev, who founded the organisation. The money will go towards funding cancer research in the U.K. and Russia, reports People.com.
Bloom admitted he was thrilled to be a part of the event - and would have loved the chance to dine with the former Soviet leader had it not been such an expensive auction item.
He says, "It is amazing to come and support something associated with Mikhail Gorbachev because of what he did. He's going to go down in history because of the way he changed the world."

The actor and his model girlfriend made an appearance together Saturday at the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation Gala fundraiser in London – and were practically inseparable. "Life is great at the moment," Bloom, 31, told People. "I've just finished a play in the West End, which I really enjoyed, and am about to start filming a new movie. It really couldn't be any better." The sense of occasion wasn't lost on the Pirates of the Caribbean star, either. Actor Hugh Grant and his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley have won $116,000 (GBP58,000) in damages for invasion of privacy, after they were photographed on holiday in a private resort in the Maldives.
Grant, model Hurley and her businessman husband Arun Nayar filed suit against photo agencies Big Pictures (U.K.) Limited and Eliot Press Sarl last year, when snaps of the trio on holiday were published in a number of British newspapers.
Laura Tyler, the lawyer representing Grant, Hurley and Nayar, appeared at London's High Court on Thursday morning, when she told Mr Justice Eady that the pictures had been taken covertly and without her clients' knowledge. She also argued that the claimants had chosen the resort because it offered them complete privacy and seclusion.
She told the court: "It has been most upsetting for the claimants to have their privacy invaded by these defendants."
The photos were later printed in the News of the World and The Mail on Sunday newspapers, as well as a number of celebrity magazines.
In addition to the cash for damages, the claimants will receive some money towards their legal costs from the two photo agencies, and agency bosses apologised for any distress their actions may have caused.
Further contributions will also be made by the News of the World's publisher News Group Newspapers, and Associated Newspapers, which prints The Mail on Sunday.

British socialite Jemima Khan knew it was time to split up with ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant when a watch he bought for her at the beginning of their relationship stopped working.
The pair started dating in 2004, shortly after Khan split from her Indian cricketer husband Imran, and Grant sealed their new romance by gifting her with a $6,000 (GBP3,000) Panerai wristwatch.
But the couple started having problems and Khan eventually ended the relationship in February 2007.
And the 34-year-old insists it was the watch which made her realise it was time to end the love affair.
Writing in British Vogue magazine, she says, "I've even found myself waiting for a sign. The watch given to me by an ex-boyfriend when we first met packed up (stopped) at the point at which the relationship had clearly run its course.
"I took it as the clear signal I needed that out time was finally up, though of course I'd known that for months.
"Easier this, than to take responsibility for the decision myself."

Hugh Grant's former girlfriend Jemima Khan has received death threats after supporting a counter Islamist extremism organisation.
Khan - who converted to Islam before marrying cricket legend and political campaigner Imran Khan in 1995 - this week (begs21Apr08) pledged her allegiance to the The Quilliam Foundation, a group of reformed Muslim radicals who aim to combat extremism.
But the group has been the target of death-threats, intimidating calls and emails - and its patron Khan has been referred to by name, according to the group's co-director, Ed Husain.
He says, "All of this is designed to discredit us in the eyes of members of the Muslim community.
"The leaders of these movements are fearful of us because they know that members have been in touch with us and they want help in order to leave."

French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis is set to make her first English-language movie - she's been cast alongside Michael Madsen in The Midwife Crisis.
Paradis, the longterm partner of Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, has made only a handful of forays into the acting industry since winning a Cesar Award for 1989 film Noce Blanche (A White Wedding).
Shooting on the film is due to start in New York in September, but The Midwife Crisis director Mabrouk el Mechri warns it won't be your average romantic comedy.
He tells the Hollywood Reporter, "It's not your typical cheesy romantic comedy. It's not Hugh Grant.
"I don't want to film New York like a tourist. No squirrels in Union Square, no zooming in from the Empire State Building to a close-up of Vanessa Paradis."
