The courtside seats at Sunday’s New York Knicks – Boston Celtics game were filled with celebrity NBA fans. Irish-American funny man Will Ferrell was spotted goofing off with Brooke Shields. But the two celebs had an ulterior motive for cheering on the Knicks – they were at the game to film a scene for their upcoming film “The Other Guys.” Fellow stars of the movie, Rosie Perez and Irish-American actor Mark Wahlberg, were at the filming. Wahlberg, who is extremely proud of his Boston Irish roots, went so far as to sport a Knicks jersey. According to IMDb, Ferrell and Wahlberg play detectives in “The Other Guys,” which also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Eva Mendes, Anne Heche and Paris Hilton. TV Bites: Ba La La La La La Bomba

19 November 2009 7:05 AM, PST | Movieline | See recent Movieline news »

· Put down your yellow markers. The Simpsons has already crowned a winner of its 20th Anniversary Simpsons Character Contest. Peggy Black (pictured right, with Simpsons executive producer Al Jean), a Connecticut hospital operations manager and diehard Simpsons fan, beat out over 25,000 characters with her Ricardo Bomba. Bomba, nicknamed La Bomba, is a smooth-talking South American Casanova who works at the nuclear plant and moonlights as a Springfield singles scenester. Bomba will be introduced in a January 31 episode opposite Chris Martin of Coldplay. Black was thrilled with the honor and completely unfazed by the fact that there was no cash prize... partly because she thought she'd get to take home that giant hand with a donut they had her pose with. Brooke Shields is getting in The Middle

18 November 2009 6:00 PM, PST | AOL - TVSquad | See recent AOL - TVSquad news »

When you think of Brooke Shields, you think glamor and fashion and high style... Well, I do anyway. She's Suddenly Susan and one of the hot ladies on Lipstick Jungle. I do not think of her as a suburban mother of four in Orson, Indiana. However, that's exactly what she's going to be on an upcoming episode of ABC's sitcom The Middle.

As oxymoronic as it seems, I love the idea of Brooke on The Middle. She'll be going deep into the heart of the heartland to play a character who's supposed to be like Fran Heck, Patricia Heaton's character on The Middle. There's nothing as liberating for an actor as the chance to let loose and break the mold.

Exclusive: Brooke Shields aims for 'The Middle'

What's the suburban equivalent of a lipstick jungle? Food-court forest? Mommy morass? Apron woods? Well, whatever you call it, Brooke Shields is making her way there in early 2010 via a guest appearance on ABC's The Middle. Shields is playing a neighbor-nemesis of Patricia Heaton's harried middle-class mom in an episode slated to air in January. "She's a single mother with four sons that terrorize the neighborhood," says an anonymous Middle man. "Everyone wants to stay on her good side. Patricia's character tries to keep the peace." Btw, after being pre-empted last week, The Middle returns with an original episode tonight. »

The Name Game: Outstanding Outliers

Somewhere in between Bronx and Bob, there are a whole host of celebrity baby names that live on the fringe between “out there” and “traditional.” According to nameberry.com co-founder Pamela Redmond-Satran, these so-called “outlier” names have the added benefit of being “truly original” while remaining recognizable as established, tried-and-true names.

Among Pamela’s favorites are Paulina, as recently chosen by former baseball star Mike Piazza. “Her middle name Sophia might be a trendy top ten favorite,” Pamela notes, “but Paulina, which has that same feminine exoticism, is a fresher choice that could launch a new trend.” Bronwyn, as chosen »

Agassi Stormed Off Friends Set Over Shields' Finger-licking Scene

13 November 2009 12:11 AM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Tennis ace Andre Agassi stormed off the set of Friends during one of his then-wife Brooke Shields' appearances on the sitcom - because he couldn't sit and watch her lick Matt LeBlanc's fingers.

The sportsman details the odd moment in his candid memoirs, Open, and admits it sparked a meltdown he had when he returned home - and smashed his tennis awards.

He tells U.S. news show Access Hollywood, "I'd determined that tennis is the most meaningless job in the world, I felt disconnected to what it is I do... (I was) pretty much depressed after the 1995 U.S. Open and here I go to a world of people pretending, a world that is so unfamiliar to what it is I live every day.

"The scene called for her (Shields) to eat some hand... It just all became very surreal."

So Agassi walked off the set, got in his car and drove: "I wanted to be free of my own skin... I ended up driving back to Vegas and then you look at all these trophies sitting in your living room that represent the very life that you don't care about... and I just broke all my trophies. I just lost it." »

"What better way to hide yourself than to wear a mullet?" Wise words, Andre. Check out the clip below, in which Agassi bids adieu to his 'do. Weird as it may sound, »

Agassi Got Shields' Approval For Memoir

11 November 2009 2:01 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Retired tennis ace Andre Agassi reached out to his ex-wife Brooke Shields before releasing his tell-all autobiography - because he wanted to get her side of the story about their troubled time together.

Agassi spills all about the couple's ill-fated marriage, which ended in divorce in 1999, in his candid memoir Open, confessing they were a terrible match and should never have wed.

The sports star recently admitted he clung on to the model/actress in a desperate bid to find happiness during an emotional breakdown.

He said, "(I was) 27 years old, ranked 141 in the world and in a marriage that I shouldn't be (sic) in... I didn't want to be playing tennis either, so my life was filled with things I didn't want, things I didn't choose. Part of it was an inability to find a place for anything really."

But Agassi felt obliged to contact Shields and get her input on his recollection of their doomed union, so he could present both sides of the story to fans.

He says, "I included her in the process. I had to navigate a lot of waters and I went to great pains to shine a stronger light on me, my goal was to be harder on me than anybody, but she's part of the process. We had a lot of similar recollections (but) our interpretations differed at times."

In his new book, Agassi also admits to taking crystal methamphetamines and deliberately throwing tennis matches. »
