The move of "Ugly Betty" to Wednesday nights will mean a sooner-than-expected end to ABC's underperforming series "Eastwick."
ABC has also ordered up another round of its unscripted series "Shark Tank" to take "Betty's" place on Friday nights.
"Betty" will make its Wednesday debut at 10 p.m. Et Jan. 6, joining "The Middle," "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town" to make a full night of comedy. That means the final two episodes of "Eastwick," which had been slated for Jan. 6 and 13, will get bumped off the schedule and into TV purgatory. The network doesn't have any plans at the moment to air the two episodes.
"Eastwick" has been the weakest of ABC's new series this fall, averaging only about 6.3 million viewers a week and a 2.2 rating in adults 18-49. (Even the already canceled "Hank" drew slightly more viewers, 6.7 million.) "Betty" has also struggled, drawing a little under 5.5 million viewers and a 1.6 in the demo on Fridays. »

Will Castle and Beckett ever get together?
It's the question foremost on the minds of most Castle viewers.
In an interview with TV Guide this week, series creator Andrew W. Marlowe said: maybe... eventually... definitely not yet.
First, as previously reported, Alyssa Milano will guest star on the show as Castle's ex. Marlowe previewed the episode:
"A bridesmaid is murdered at a wedding, and Castle shows up on the scene where his old flame is the bride," he said. "It sets off a story about doubt and second chances, which creates an interesting love triangle for the episode."
As for Castle and Beckett's future as a couple? He replied: "We always want to play fair with the audience... but you have to handle it carefully. Our intent is to continue to mine the fun of what we have right now."
Regarding the immediate future, Castle next airs a new »

The remake bug has made its transition from the big screen to the small screen. This infectious virus, which the Cdc (Center for Disease Control) has categorized as the most aggressive ever, has been mutated and become a full-fledged epidemic among the major television networks. It started a couple of years ago when NBC tried to remake two classic shows from the 70’s and 80’s, Bionic Woman and Knight Rider.
ABC has already showed symptoms of the bug with its most recent remakes of V and Melrose Place. Now, according to Variety, ABC’s next attempt will be the 70’s female spy show Charlie’s Angels. Josh Friedman, who helped adapt Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles for Fox, Leonard Goldberg who was a producer for the original Charlie’s Angels, Steve McPherson, and Drew Barrymore (who was in the movie version of the show in 2000 and its 2003 sequel) are all attached to the project. »

Before Alyssa Milano goes full throttle with her new acting vehicle, she will visit ABC's "Castle" first. The actress has been signed to play a former love interest of Nathan Fillion's Richard Castle and stir things up between Castle and detective Kate Beckett in an episode called "A Rose for Everafter".

Her appearance is only scheduled to air in early 2010 when the show returns for the second part of season 2. The shooting, however, will begin as early as next week. The Twitter-Wood feed assembled after the jump is the fine work of Mr. Brian Warmoth, but he seems to have disappeared before finishing the evening's intro bump. So you're stuck with me, @geminibros, your friendly neighborhood MTV Movies Blog editor.

I wholeheartedly approve of that as well. Meanwhile, Brian Lynch has the real scoop on the next "Spider-Man" villain and Sarah Silverman shares a downright baffling twitpic.
